A word from La Marina
Dyckman Marina has been a vital part of upper Manhattan's unique waterfront culture for more than two centuries. The newly rebuilt restaurant, bar, lounge and events space covers more than 75,000 square feet of Hudson River waterfront in Upper Manhattan. A short walk from the A-train, La Marina is the ideal spot in NYC to enjoy cocktails at sunset, to hop off your bike for a break, to host your event, or to enjoy a romantic, moonlit dinner for two. We're also walking distance from the Cloisters. With stunning river views, dining at La Marina is an "out of city" experience. Taste fresh-shucked oysters from 'Geppetto', the classic raw-bar boat, sample our famous Chicken Lollipops, crack open a fresh grilled lobster, or dig into a steak with a side of shishito peppers, both charred to perfection.

  • "Took my friend there fot her 30 plus 1 birthday. We both ordered the lobster sandwhich for brunch which was ok... They brought a cake with these cool lights and I thought that was nice. They were preparing for a private party later on that night but didn't rush us outbwe appreciated that. The view of the GWB and the Hudson was amazing! The spot is more for the ambience and view than the food We had a great time though!"

  • "It was beautiful! The valet was great. The young lady that seated us was lovely and gracious. Our waitress was ok, she someties looked a litle annoyed over all she was ok.. before we got there my dad aked me to call to see if the served clams, they said yes, great! Not the case whem we arrived. We asked for three dozen clams. Sorry no clams, as you might well know were disappointed. Ok time to order entree, my dad orders ribeye, no Rib Eye (what?). I had Mussels, they were great! My moms halibit on the other hand had no taste at all and was dry. My sons Lobster pasta was really good. Im not sure where I stand yet about coming back for dinner drinks definitly."

  • "A friend recommended LaMarina after having enjoyed a brunch with her daughters. When friend of mine visited me from Maryland, I made reservations at LaMarina. My friends and I also had brunch--celebrating the birthday of two people in the party. The hostess was charming; the wait staff was warm, friendly and courteous. Moreover the food was absolutely delicious! Each of us had something different and each of us commented on how wonderful the food was. My Eggs Benedict (with salmon) came out just slightly cool, but it was so good, I did not want to stop to mention it! I look forward to visiting the restaurant again--possibly for dinner."

  • "Very quiet on a snowy Saturday. Food was good, although the lobster bisque was definitely off. Service was ok, but two of our three cocktails were not what we ordered."

  • "A last minute family brunch in the snow. La Marina was setting up for an event so it was a little like construction around us. They need to figure out that brunch may not be the time for thundering bass in their restaurant music. it worked out fine and the kids loved the view even in the snow."

  • "GET THE CRAB DIP!!!! From the appetizers to the desserts and drinks, La Marina puts forth a valiant menu that is cohesive and diverse enough to satisfy the palate and preference of almost any foodie. Now the bad. The service was atrocious. I made a reservation for 10. When we first got there the hostess said that our table was ready and we could be seated immediately. In my mind "immediately" meant right away, little did I know it ACTUALLY meant 15 minutes later after the hostess sent tweets, Facebook messages and texts. Then once we were actually seated, from ordering to food and drinks arriving almost 2 hours had lapsed. Excellent Food, Very Slow Service!! (If its any consolation, all of the servers had very positive attitudes)."

  • "Extremely expensive for the neighborhood. A serious hike from the subway and they add on gratuity. To. Everything. I found that last bit extremely insulting. There is nothing worse than having your bartender explain the added gratuity she tacked onto your round of 3 drinks, and paying 20% for three pre-made cocktails, one of which, she got wrong. I would go back, for the well priced mussels, and a glass of wine. I will never again charge my drinks at the bar, she corrected my friends math. I am not kidding. It has a gorgeous view. Gorgeous, in the early summer it will be well worth it, on a weekday. The food was decent, nothing to write home about, especially given all the great food in this city."

  • "I was recommended La Marina by a friend and I'm glad she did. The bar wasn't super busy because I think their summer months are the busiest, but we stil had a great time. The servers and bartenders were so friendly. Loved the music and vibe."

  • "A good friend and I were looking for a place to eat in the city with a river view and parking. I had been to La Marina for brunch a few months ago with my family and felt that an early diner would be such a treat on an autumn evening. We were not disappointed. Despite the lobster bisque having a bitter after taste, the lobster entre was great and the tres leches desert was simply divine. The staff as a whole was very attentive even as more diners arrived. The background music was loud enough to be heard , but it was not so loud that it interfered with our conversation; we were also far enough from neighboring tables. I really appreciated that the service was not rushed and that the drink and food delivery to our table was perfectly timed"

  • "1st time at La Marina. Amazing atmosphere and views. The service was terrible. We were a group of 5, and it to took nearly 20 minutes for a round of drinks. After they apologized and comped us another round of drinks, things continued to get worse. The restaurant was half empty, waiters were standing around chatting w/each other instead of paying attention to diners. They served my appetizer and entree at the same time and couldn't understand why this was a mistake. Overall, food was ok, views were great, service was awful."

  • "La Marina is a beautiful place. The food is great and the service is wonderful, Even tho it is winter the dining expierence is wonderful. In summer only the crowds would keep me away!"

  • "The title sums it up. The waiter seemed more like a busboy. He tried but was poorly trained. When he brought the check he announced that he hadn't charged us for coffee refills, which are apparently not free at brunch here (??). Cream for the coffee was served in little wine glass, so it spilled all over the place. We had to ask for spoons for the coffee. Food was decent, view fantastic, but I wouldn't go there again. Not worth the money."

  • "Made a reservation, and the restaurant is closed Monday through Wedneaday with no warning. So I show up with a scheduled reservation and no one is at the restaurant, not even the voicemail had a message stating they were closed, very inconsiderate for their customers because they are not close to anything."

  • "Made reservations for Sunday brunch but they weren't necessary. Service was good. They had a special brunch menu with your choice of unlimited sangria or mimosa. We had almond French toast and a chicken club sandwich. The French toast was good, the sandwich was just alright. The best part is the beautiful view of all the fall foliage along the river."

  • "This was my second time to La Marina. Like the first time, I was taken back by the view and ambiance of the place. I also had a chance to scroll through unlike before. They have a nice selection to choose from. I chose the Rib Eye 16oz. and it was fabulous. Like the first time, I did not appreciate the service. There was a lack of communication between our waiter and his help. The presentation of the entree was not there. I think if they step up their service, I believe they would be the best!"

  • "We loved this restaurant. While the service was a little slow, they were very attentive and friendly. The food was great. We had lobster clubs, burgers and the croque Madame for brunch and everyone was very happy with the food. The fries were a little cold by the time they came out, but we were very happy overall and would definitely make the trek again."

  • "I've been wanting to visit this space and didn't get a chance to make it there at all this past summer. Visited La Marina with my cousins for brunch. There weren't many people there but the space was really nice and the outside was decorated with pumpkins so we were able to go out and take nice pictures. The food was really good and I'd go back again. I'd like to try their dinner menu."

  • "Someone recommended La Marina for a romantic evening, and it certainly was. The view was picturesque, the food was fantastic, and the ambiance was beautiful. There was a band playing and it added to the night in a good way- wasn't too loud where we had to shout to be heard. We really enjoyed it. Delicious food! Our server wasn't the best of the bunch but we could tell there were plenty of attentive servers there, so don't let this discourage you."

  • "Walked into the stunning La Marina for brunch on Sat with a 7 & 8 year old. Got seated VERY far from the windows in a mostly empty restaurant. Switched tables after some resistance & fumbling from the staff. We eventually switched & ordered, for my daughter, the buttered pasta from the kids menu. After a fairly long wait our food came, no pasta. Server noted immediately and left. Some time later waiter who didn't seem to actually be a waiter, came by and remarked on the pasta problem. After more waiting, the $28 lobster pasta arrived. The waiter tried feebly to cover and say that's what he thought we'd ordered. After more waiting, a small portion of the pasta arrived. Wish this breathtaking place would get it's non-club act together."

  • "This is my 3rd time in 3 weeks! Obviously, I'm a big fan. The food is delicious and well prepared, and the staff is always warm and friendly, albeit a bit slow at times. There is only one word to describe the view: spectacular. Go now while the weather is still warm and eat outside. If you go during the week, Happy Hour is until 7:00 p.m., and it is nice and quiet, except for the music. That is my only complaint. The music, especially outside, is so loud you have to yell to be heard. When there are only 6 or 8 people outside on a large patio, this doesn't make sense. I asked the waiter to have the music turned down, and he did. However, the management chose not to honor our request. We finally went inside, where it was a little better."

  • "In a restaurant that can serve hundreds if not a couple thousand people when combining outdoor and indoor tables, the night we dined there, early October, post summer season, there were but 35-40 having dinner. Advertised valet parking did not exist despite a valet station and sign."

  • "We went to this restaurant based on much of the publicity they've received in local NY papers and because I come from this area. The views are wonderful, right at the water and the food was good. We were told that after 5PM, its wall to wall people. The crowd is mainly people in their 20's and 30's an many seemed to be there for drinks. We were there for brunch and found seating outside. I imagine its very romantic in the evening if its not too crowded. I'm sure I'll go back, at some point, to try it again."
