Diner Reviews
  • "This was our 5th trip to LaMancha and the food was outstanding just as our prior visits. Now the place is very busy most nights. From the Sangria, to the salads, the bread (so good and fresh) to the entrees it is all outstanding. The Paella was very flavorful land cooked to perfection (just a little crunch around the edges) and the Espada de la Reina is the most amazing shrimp and scallop combo that I've had. We will be back of course."

  • "Our second visit. Food is good and service is better. Sunday is fun with Spanish music and all you can eat paella!"

  • "Although we are from another State, every time we visit Fernandina Beach we have dinner at La Mancha. Although not in the heart of town, it is well worth the short drive to a real gem. The food has never been anything but exquisite."

  • "I have dined at restaurants throughout Europe and La Mancha is comparable to some of the great European restaurants. The food and service were outstanding. If you are on Amelia Island it would be a shame to miss the experience of dining with La Mancha"

  • "Try the beef tapas w/blue cheese! Not a lot of atmosphere here, but the guitar player is nice w/dinner. Sangria is half price on Tuesdays, and it was very good."

  • "Wonderful experience but probably won't frequent unless bar expands to serve cocktails."

  • "But the service was a bit slow. Overall, we all very much enjoyed our evening at La Mancha. Would highly recommend!"

  • "The food was good, but not great for the price point. It is a very similar menu to the Espana location the chef came from. Nice decor and looked like they sometimes have live music which would be fun."

  • "We made the reservations, then got there and they said it was closed--the time was messed up online. Then, my husband ordered something, the waiter had to come back and say they were out of it. So he ordered something else and we waited again.....and that was out. Extremely disappointing. We would not go back."

  • "We've been coming to the Island for 11 years and discovered La Mancha this trip. So glad we tried it--it will now be on our short list of dinner choices! Fabulous food, personable and attentive service, casual yet upscale atmosphere, and beautiful presentations. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!"

  • "Visited in the early evening and the restaurant was quiet, but soon filled up. The waiter was very helpful with respect to menu choices. Our Tapas appetizer (shrimp in a honey mustard curry sauce served in a halved fresh pineapple) was outstanding. The paella entree we shared was filling and quite good, although certainly not the best I've had with a burnt taste at the bottom of the bowl. We finished with a tasty lemon cello cake and coffee. I also ordered a glass of port which, since it was late to the table, was 'on the house'. Nice touch. All in all an enjoyable meal and I'll probably be back to experiment with a wide variety on the Tapas menu."

  • "This restaurant is my favorite restaurant for dinner on Amelia Island. The food is wonderful and the portions are huge. It's modestly priced, but we'll worth it, and they have a lot of dinners for two items on their menu."

  • "A small group of us went to La Mancha for dinner this past Thursday. We were warmly greeted as we entered the restaurant. Our waiter was friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and genuine. He presented the specials, and we reviewed the menu. We ordered the sangria, and it was wonderful. Dinner was served shortly, and everyone raved about their meal. Mine was local shrimp and chorizo that was grilled. My wife enjoyed the Grouper Mondragon, which is served with two scallops."

  • "The seafood piea was BURNT !!! Shrimp, fish, etc. very disappointed.I doubt if we will return unless this is resolved. There is no spit shield over the all one can eat piea when entering. Turn off !!!! Meatballs were very good"

  • "We do not have Spanish restaurants in our area, so we really enjoyed the great fresh food at La Mancha. Bread and pesto olive oil are put on the table immediately. Our server was prompt and courteous. Ladies got sangria for free. It was a little sweet for me, so the waiter volunteered to add more wine to it. My mussels and my husband's shrimp tapas dishes were excellent. We shared a paella which was also good. A nice evening!"

  • "Loved the decor. Loved the live spanish guitar music playing softly in the corner. Loved that the waiters brought a HUGE paella (good for about 20 people) to our table asking "Did someone order a paella?" ( It was the buffet paella they were setting up for that evening). Loved the food. We tasted our nephew's Paella Valenciana - very flavorful. My husband and I shared the Churrasco board with sirloin and chicken - wonderful. The restaurant was quiet since we were there at 5:30 but we were happily surprised that the music started at 6PM - one usually has to wait until about 8PM for live music to start in restaurants. The service was friendly and attentive. We will be back!"

  • "Finally decided to give this restaurant a try with some neighbors and glad we did. If you enjoy the flavors of Spanish and Portuguese cooking you won't be disappointed. Very authentic dishes with a wide variety of choices and price points. The eggplant tapas was excellent and perfect for a light entree. Goat cheese tapas was very good and came with a delicious side sauce. Be sure to ask your server about portion size of tapas selections to help gauge how much to order. The tasty salmon entree was beautifully presented on a nice portion of greens and the salads were substantial. The dining room is pleasant and nicely decorated. LaMancha is a keeper for Fernandina Beach!"

  • "We made reservations Friday night based upon reviews on Trip Advisor and were so glad that we did! Our waiter Jonathon was very helpful with suggestions from the wide array of Tapas we were considering and his upbeat attitude made for fun dining experience. Everything was very flavorful and served as soon as it was prepared each item was piping hot and fresh. The next morning we were discussing how much we enjoyed our meal and our desire to return, so we cancelled our reservation for a restaurant in the historic district and returned to La Mancha - only to love it even more after the second meal. We highly recommend the Ceviche, the shrimp in the Mondragon sauce, the scallops, the goat cheese salad, shrimp in curry type sauce and the flan."

  • "We were visiting the area and this restaurant looked interesting, so made reservations. I thought the food was excellent and unique for a restaurant in this area. I would have liked to choose several things on their menu. I will have to visit it again on another trip,"

  • "We planned on trying to get in our old favorite Spanish restaurant, Espana, but they were pretty booked up for the Concours weekend. We decided to try La Mancha, and it turned out to be fabulous! You need to make a reservation, as it appeared that walk ins waited a long time. The food was great, and our waiter, Zack, was very professional and well versed with the menu! I vote you go there and have the Grouper... You will enjoy it a lot, I promise :-)"

  • "There were 9 1/2 of us. The waiter took our orders, and then forgot to bring mine. Also, when the food arrived, the waiter "auctioned off" the plates ("Who had the sea bass?") rather than remembering who ordered what. Food was great, although my wife's shrimp in cocoanut only had 3 shrimp in it. My steak was excellent and perfectly cooked once it arrived."

  • "My husband and I found this restaurant by accident while walking to our hotel from the beach (Fernandina). From the street it looks like a cheap Mexican restaurant, but we peeked inside the windows (they were still closed) and it looked wonderful! We checked it out on Trip Advisor and it had stellar reviews. I Our wait service was excellent. The food was delicious - try the Paella. We were going to order to servings but after an appetizer tapas (lobster ravioli) and a salad, the waiter suggested maybe we could share one serving as it was large. He was right, although we finished every bite. We will absolutely be back next year when we visit Amelia Island again. We will also recommend it to our friends. five stars in every category!"

  • "Only 8 months old, La Mancha is a destination restaurant. The cuisine is created by Chef Willys, from Brazil, and it is superb. I wish I could try all of the dishes."

  • "We read the reviews of LaMancha and said must be good. Well, it was not.... They had a guitarist with a back up box and it was way too load and not soothing at all. I think one of the owners put bread and water on our table without a hello, welcome, anything. The tapas were fair. Some owner looking guys were bouncing around the place and chit chatting with some friends that were dining and we felt like we were intruding on their chit chat. We would probably not go back, just wasn't a relaxing or inviting atmosphere. Our wait person was very pleasant and cheerful."

  • "The food was wonderful as always, we all ordered multiple appetizers, the only thing unusual was everything came out all at the same time and some were main meals, almost felt rushed. Service great otherwise and food the best on the island for flavor , variety and price"
