Diner Reviews
  • "Great food, terrific service, nice place to share with friends and family. Every dish and every bite has brought rave reviews from our guests we take there. Last night was no exception. Sauces and flavors take us to Fantasy Land! We will continue to enjoy La Mancha for special occasions or just a hungry night out! Clearly deserves to be in the top 5 restaurants in Fernandina."

  • "Made reservations for 6 pm, although it's only necessary for much later. The surf & turf special was fabulous! Grilled lobster tail & prime rib for two! Even the sangria was well done. This place may not have the "location" however the food is far superior. Highly recommend, can't wait to return!!"

  • "Everything was delicious--the lamb meatballs, the mussels, the entrees--shrimp and scallops and the paella. The music was a nice touch."

  • "We have gone quite a few times and we always have a great time. The best service on the island. Fried goat cheese salad is delicious."

  • "We tried this restaurant on our recent visit to Amelia Island. The menu is comprehensive and outstanding. Many seafood options as you would expect at the beach, as well as Brazilian themed meat entrees. Portions are huge and prices are good, especially for a resort area restaurant. The live acoustic Brazilian music added a nice ambiance. Paella, sangria and tres leches cake, mmmm."

  • "It was just ok. Won't be back, not worth the price."

  • "This is our third trip to La Mancha. The food is consistently excellent. If you like lamb, their lamb ball appetizer is outstanding. Make sure that you ask about the size of the tapas. Some are very large and are certainly enough for more than two people. The cheeses that are used are really high quality and they are prepared very nicely. The paella which my wife had is HUGE so be prepared."

  • "Sad to see there weren't a lot of people there, but it was 830p on a Sunday night. Amazing food, great live Spanish guitarists, and fantastic service."

  • "I expected better Spanish food, based on reviews and notable chef. The food (paella) was nothing special. It was average. The service was not attentive at all, but fulfilled the needs of a typical large restaurant. "

  • "Wonderful food and service. My wife and I had seafood, which was fresh and very well prepared. The waiter Josue was competent and friendly."

  • "The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The owner transformed an old Shoney's into a must stop for dinner at the beach."

  • "The food and service was excellent; is quickly becoming our favorite on the island!"

  • "Two of us had the Tortilla Flamenca, Mussarela de Bufala (only downside: the basil was pretty wilted), Scallops Mondragon-fabulous; Almondegas de Carneiro (on the dry side, but extremely flavorful - no color, very drab; Snapper a la Dulcinea (fabulous). There was a small mix-up about whose table we were and a longish wait to order, but the owner caught it and asked the waiter to serve us complimentary desserts. Our waiter didn't ask what we'd like and just plopped a flan (great!) down in the middle of the table with two spoons. Nothing heinous, but it stood out to me as someone who had spent over 20 years in the B&B/restaurant/catering/bar business. None of the little hiccups would stop me from recommending La Mancha to everyone!"

  • "The food at La Mancha is without a doubt the best I've had on the island. There were 5 of us and we all got a different dish. No one was disappointed. "

  • "An unusual menu for sea side Florida , but the Tapas work and are a welcome change from the usual menu fare . A try to appear Mediterranean doesn't really work , but a pleasant dining experience non the less ."

  • "Excellent food. Great flamenco guitar music during dinner, toe taping music. Paella with very good side salad. Try the luscious lemon cake! We will return there again this year when we return in Fall."

  • "We decided to order one of the house specialities which was supposed to contain mussels, clams, octopus, shrimp, and fish. The dish was delivered to the table without fish or octopus and our waiter needed to bring the management to the table for him to see that there was indeed no fish or octopus. He stated that the cook had failed to put everything in the dish and the missing ingredients were delivered to the table about 10 minutes later. On a previous visit we took out of town guests and ordered a variety of tapas. One of the tapas arrived within the first 30 minutes but we waited two hours for the rest of our meal before we finally just gave up. The excuse was that a large party was being served in another room. "

  • "The food and service were both great. The ambience was wonderful as well. The only thing better would have been outdoor seating, but there would not be much of a view. Would definitely eat here again when in town."

  • "We went for dinner on our 41st wedding anniversary and had a fantastic meal and the service was exceptional. We find the wine list covers a wide range and have always been able to find the right fit for the evening. The pricing is perfect. Moderate pricing and exceptional food. We have never been disappointed not even once. We consider La Mancha one of our top three restaurants in the area. Thanks for a great 41st anniversary celebration. "

  • "We finally tried this new, local hotspot. The reviews looked good online, and they were right. The staff is great, helpful, and it's obvious they really work together as a team that enjoys what they do. Friday nights include two local guitar players who are just incredible. I forgot to get their CD, so I'll get it next Friday when we go back! The food was spot on, the tapas were excellent, the white sangria was sweet, and there were options for the kids. They even tried some new things and had to admit they were good - success!"

  • "Our first visit to Amelia Island so we chose our first dinner experience from the reviews. We were not disappointed. My wife had the paella with meat vs. seafood and I had the halibut special. Both were delicious. We started with the calamari and fried oyster appetizer which was accompanied with a warm, tasty marinara sauce. Jessica, our server, though very busy, gave us great service."

  • "our service was terrific;menu explained well and just the right amount of attention. however, the food did not stand out and my eggplant did not resemble any that i have had - too rich, too much covered in everything. the prices were expensive, too expensive for the offerings."

  • "We have been coming to Amelia Island for five years an never have been here. My loss.Much better food than most ,and a lot of it. plenty of parking. When I retire here I will go once a week.Do not miss it !!"

  • "Had a really enjoyable dinner with nice food, nice wine, pleasant decor, an atmosphere where quite conversation was easy and light very pleasant live music in the background (light classical guitar that set the atmosphere but did not intrude into the meal or conversation) and a professional friendly waiter. All in all a perfect evening. Only thing I would change would be that I should have told the waiter we wanted a very slow paced dinner. Everything went by faster than in retrospect I would have liked."

  • "Our table of 4 adults was anxious to enjoy your food. We are all serious about our food, dining out in the best restaurants and love cooking too. The paella looked appetizing when we entered but it had been sitting out for hours and not prepared fresh - a visual impact but delicious and fresh? No. I ordered one dish - calamari. It was NOT good, a very skimpy tiny portion and not even close to other restaurants + overpriced for 25 cents worth of calamari. The red sauce tasted like it was from a can. It would have been better if it was a special Spanish sauce. MENU totally overpriced on every dish in comparison to many of the A+list restaurants in Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach"

  • "Warm welcome, pleasant service, incredible food! Joshua was energetic, and a requested sauce substitution was allowed. We have enjoyed every trip to La Mancha, as have all our visiting friends and relatives, and this has become the usual expectation well delivered."

  • "Although the food was excellent and on a par with another Spanish restaurant we tried in the area (ranked #2) the location and layout/ambiance at this establishment was unimpressive. There was nothing memorable about the decor and, before we tasted the food, I was seriously concerned that my dining partner might mutiny on me. We selected several items from the Tapas section of the menu and were pleasantly surprised at the quality, taste and presentation of the food. Our server, a Puerto Rican native, was entertaining and efficient. Don't go here expecting to be "transported to Spain", but, do go here for the food!"

  • "We arrived 15 minutes before closing (without realizing the time) and we were graciously seated and totally not rushed. The Greek salad was wonderful and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. We highly recommend La Mancha and would definitely return when we are in the area. "

  • "Being a new resident on Amelia Island, We discovered LaMancha. So if you want a breakfast that has a touch of class and great breakfast food at a moderate pricing. You won't be disappointed. The down side is the breakfast are currently offered on Saturdays and Sundays only and no full liquor. Beer and wine only. Nice touch one of owners comes around table to ask how things are. Thank you for making our Easter Sunday Special. We will go back for dinner."

  • "This was our 5th trip to LaMancha and the food was outstanding just as our prior visits. Now the place is very busy most nights. From the Sangria, to the salads, the bread (so good and fresh) to the entrees it is all outstanding. The Paella was very flavorful land cooked to perfection (just a little crunch around the edges) and the Espada de la Reina is the most amazing shrimp and scallop combo that I've had. We will be back of course."
