La GrenouilleLa Grenouille C'est très magnifiqueWe had the most wonderful time on Saturday afternoon. Roger our mai·tre d' could not have been better. He was genuinely friendly and so attentive. The entire staff was amazing. The food was superb and the ambience perfect. Quiet and old New York. We are making La Grenouille a tradition on each NYC visit. Merci Beaucoup.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodGreat place for a lovely evening. Great food, service and ambiance.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ChoiceWe had out-of-town visitors who are into fine dining, so this was one of our choices. We were not disappointed. Quenelles of Pike "Lyonnaise" were heaven and the risotto so good my wife would not share with me.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMJust what you would expectA pricey French restaurant across from Cartier in NYC should have good food, good wine, good service, and look beautiful.....and so it was, but except for the soufflé and the flowers nothing was outstanding.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDover sole was fantastic.Dover sole was fantastic. Love this restaurant. Have been here twice this year. With some many restaurants to choose from, need I say more......5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe usual superb experienceLa Grenouille was up to its customary standard of dining excellence. It had been over 2 years since I was there last and there was little if any change. This place is a must for the foodie who is into fine French dining.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe perfect lunch spotWe have been here for lunch a few times and each time it has been a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful and the flowers are absolutely exquisite. The service is always impeccable as is the food. We will be back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSOUFFLEthis restaurant has stopped in time.If you like service, attention and exceptional food you are at the right spot!1

I recommend to those that enjoy french cuisine.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic FrenchOne of the last places you can get classic French food and service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA classicBeautiful spot with excellent, gracious service. Food and wine are always delicious. The sommelier is helpful and personable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely wonderful restaurantAbsolutely wonderful restaurant and a perfect pre show experience. There are almost as many wait staff and captains as there are patrons, so service is as attentive as you would like, but they are happy to leave you to enjoy your food as well. Everyone is extremely pleasant and friendly, they seemed to sincerely enjoy their jobs and providing a special dining experience. We ordered form the pre show menu, which is smaller than the regular but the selection was more than adequate. Meal was extraordinary; the filet was one of the best I have ever had and I also recommend the chocolate torte for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust lovely, despite a groupJust lovely, despite a group of less that quiet ladies! Staff was very attentive, food was wonderful.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis gem is not exactly hidden,This gem is not exactly hidden, but even its regulars may not know of the space on the second floor, which has much better ambiance and is much less formal than the ground floor.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is definitely oneThis place is definitely one of my favorites in NYC. Great food, very friendly staff (including the owner) and always a very pleasant dining experience. A must go!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the best of classicStill the best of classic dining in NYC! It's still the old world New York... We absolutely love it! Hope it will not disappear like the other ones, since now this is one of only few of this type of old New York restaurants left...4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service althoughGreat food and service although seating is very crowded. Tables are too close together.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a truly enjoyable experienceIt was a truly enjoyable experience. I hadn't been there for several years but I was impressed that nothing has changed. It is one of the finest dining experiences in New York. I will definately go back again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI hesitate to criticize atI hesitate to criticize at all because this restaurant is perhaps the last place in the city that serves classic French food. The service and ambiance are close to perfect. Unfortunately, the pike quenelles I had last week were not as good as I remember them. The sauce was wonderful, but the quenelles themselves seemed somewhat gelatinous. I am aware that they are bound by egg white and poached, but I do not recall this texture. I sincerely hope that this was simply a bad batch. I shall certainly try the dish again when I'm next in New York.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best dining experiencesOne of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Instant favorite4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a totally excellentThis is a totally excellent restaurant. Food, service, and ambience are top notch.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, La Grenouille deliversAs always, La Grenouille delivers not just sumptuous food and impeccable service, but an absolutely wonderful experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful lunch in MidtownWe are visiting NYC from Chicago and friends recommended we try La Grenouille during our stay. They specifically suggested the Dover Sole and Grand Marnier soufflé, which were both exquisite, but the rest of the food was superb as well. We also had the beef tenderloin au poivre with whipped potatoes which were sublime, and the peppercorn sauce was delicious from a classic Demi-glacé while the meat was cooked perfectly. This is about as true as classic French cuisine gets, and the staff were wonderfully cheerful and friendly. We were sat in the upstairs dining room (also suggested by our friends) which is very charming and romantic, with high ceilings, a wine library, and fresh cut flowered all around. We will definitely be back again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, an exquisite experience. As always, an exquisite experience. The entire staff is gracious and eminently professional. We were given very cordial service and made to feel quite welcome. All of this on top of gorgeous ambience and French food perfection! As always, just a lovely afternoon.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFormal but not stuffy; foodFormal but not stuffy; food is classic, soufflés are impeccable, cheese plate was exceptional.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Grenouille is beautiful.La Grenouille is beautiful. It smells of fresh flowers. Service is attentive, but not overly so, and helpful. Food is delicious (e.g., mushroom risotto, veal chop slices, pea soup, rhubarb tart, Grand Marnier souffle). Tables for 2 are not lined up; most are same-side or corners. Reasonable number of reasonably priced wine choices.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTHIS IS ONE OF THE LAST BASTIONSTHIS IS ONE OF THE LAST BASTIONS OF CIVILITY THAT WE HAVE LEFT IN THE UNITED STATES. WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET QUENELLES,
DOVER SOLE COOKED AND BONED TO PERFECTION AND A FANTASTIC GRAND MARNIER SOUFFLE AT LUNCH? BECAUSE THE RESTAURANT IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND THE FLOWERS SO STATELY, PEOPLE KEEP THEIR VOICES MODULATED AND STAY OFF THEIR
CELL PHONES. WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO LA GRENOUILLE FOR 35 YEARS AND IT NEVER DISAPPOINTS. CELEBRITIES FEEL
COMFORTABLE THERE BECAUSE THE CLIENTELE RESPECTS THEIR PRIVACY. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNew York's Treasure! We have dined here several times but always in the evening. This time we came for lunch and the experience was just as memorable. The staff is very accommodating and we were seated promptly. This time I ordered the poulet roti which was cooked with the minimal of seasonings, some chunks of crisp bacon, and a pan sauce. My husband had veal blanquette which was very tender with a light cream sauce. Our meal was completed with a chocolate souffle for him and a meyer lemon souffle for me. As always the food is exceptional with such detail to presentation and service.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMspectacular, as always. itspectacular, as always. it doesn't get nay better than this if you're looking for classic french dining--with a twist. and there is no more beautiful restaurant in new york.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA classic of French Haute Cuisine iLa Grenouille is a classic of French haute cuisine in New York. Many critics rate it among the top ten in the city. While the menu is classic French, with not many inventions or variations, it superbly delivers. Attention is provided to every single detail and the experience is worth every penny (more likely every hundred dollars).3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, romantic dinnerWonderful, romantic dinner for two! The upstairs at LaGrenouille transports you to another time and place...the flowers, the flowers! So very lovely...3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a beautiful restaurantThis is a beautiful restaurant - the flowers are gorgeous and the service is impeccable. The food is wonderful classic French and the souffle for dessert is a must. I love the fruit or Grand Marnier flavor. My husband likes the decadent chocolate dessert. We are always happy!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe most pleasurable diningThe most pleasurable dining experience I have had in my 27 years of life.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMseamless service, beautifullyseamless service, beautifully ambient, unsurpassable culinary experience!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis New York icon never failsThis New York icon never fails to thrill. As other classic French kitchens have closed in New York, I pray this wonderful temple of classic, exquisite cooking will continue to thrive. The Dover Sole, the Quenelles and the perfect desert souffles figure in all my best fantasies!! As much as I love new entrants on the food scene, we must not forget that what was truly excellent decades ago remains just a relevant today. La Grenouille is a treasure I hope remains in New York as long as I live.2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMIt had been a couple of yearsIt had been a couple of years since I was last at Grenouille, and it was wonderful to return and find things very much the same. As always the flowers were beautiful and the service gracious and personal. This is the last remaining 1960's-era haute French restaurant in New York and I don't think the basic decor has changed much in all that time--at least not in my memory. Everyone on the staff is warm and welcoming. The food was excellent--the best dover sole in town. You step back in time when you enter this place--what a pleasure to see people actually properly dressed--and the classic dishes and the newer items on the menu satisfy in the 21st century.1/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place, pricey (good) foodThe place is so beautiful. My only issue would be if it had been full, you would be on top of your neighbor so that makes it hard to be romantic. But the night we went we were there very early and it was not busy so it was lovely. Food was outstanding (if pricey) and loved the service. The fixed price menus were a good deal (if you didn't do all the upgrades).12/28/2012 12:00:00 AM
