A friend was visiting from LA, and
staying near by in local hotel. Was a great spot to walk to. We were sat right away for our 8:00 reservation, and overall great experience. Always enjoy trying something new and like the smaller gems best, this was one of them. Definitely would go back."

A friend was visiting from
Helsinki and for his birthday I took him to la galleria 33 for a north end experience. We started with shrimp scampi and crispy calamari, both were delicious. We then split 3 small plates, linguini with clams, lasagna, and gnocchi. All were amazing-- probably my favorite in the north end. Like everything else, the tiramisu was great."

We went in on a Friday at 5:30
before a show. We were the only ones in the restaurant until probably 6:00. It was great!"

The staff was very flexible to our
changing plan and was pleasant to interact with. There are a lot of neighborhood italian restaurants in the north end that are pretenders but this place is not. The food is quite yummy."

I booked this last minute via Open
Table for Valentine's Day and was very pleased. The menu was simple and everything we had was delicious. I would absolutely recommend the Veal Paradiso! Service was friendly and efficient and I thought the pricing was reasonable for this area. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the North End. I'll be back!"

We went to La Galleria on Sunday
of President's Day weekend. Calamari and aranchini were very good, my 10 year old tried some of both and really enjoyed it! Dinners were chicken ziti broccoli, a veal dish (forget name) and Chicken Bona Boca, all were delicious. Love the sauce the chicken was cooked in. Will return soon. Service was perfect, although there was only one other table besides us being served. They forgot to check us in with our Open Table reservation, but it has since been corrected."

We've eaten here a couple of times
now and the food never disappoints."
Dined on 2/9/2014
Really good food, good sized
portions and good wine list. the only thing I could see that needs improvement is the service. Otherwise then that great place to go with a small group if you are on a budget. Happy Eating!!!"

The experience overall was
fantastic! The one thing that could be improved was the attentiveness of the hostess."

Dinner was great awaly enjoy
getting to the North End when i Can."
Dined on 1/18/2014
although the food was good, there
was only beer on tap and very limited choices. I think we only had 4 and they were not good. My biggest problem was the screaming and yelling at the staff in a very public and blatant manner. Made for a very uncomfortable dining experience."

Ambience was great for a date,
exposed brick, light music playing in the background and a cute view of the North End busy streets. We went on a Saturday for lunch and service was great. All of the food was great - Mussels in wine, Shrimp & Asparagus Fettuccine, and Pasta alla Carbonara. Only complaint was the Pasta alla Carbonara had a lot of prosciutto and I was disappointed they didnt have the fried egg on top, however the pasta was still perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The Shrimp pasta dish was a special for the day and my boyfriend loved it, they gave a good portion of Shrimp which was great and they were large in size. Would recommend to a friend if they wanted a hidden gem with good food."

service, wine and food all great!
My husband and I both ordered veal dishes, they were amazing and so reasonably priced. I can't wait to go again. The butter spread that is served with the bread is not great, they should just give you garlic and oil. Also, it would nice if the bus woman working that night spoke a little more English. All in all the place is gorgeous and I highly recommend for a romantic dinner for 2 or with the family."

Overall good food! Great location!
Pasta with entree was a bit small but chicken parm was still pretty good! Hostess/owner was great about seating us quickly on a busy night as we had a reservation."

We had dinner recently at La
Galleria 33- My husband and I and another couple. We started with a bottle of wine -A Cabernet recommended by our waiter. Great choice! We started with the Calamari and a Caprese salad..wonderful. Calamari was perfectly cooked, lightly fried, caprese salad was fresh and delicious. We all ordered different dishes for our main course- some pasta, 2 chicken dishes and a veal dish. Everyone of us felt our selection was the "best"- I highly recommend La Galleria 33 as a top choice for the North End."

We celebrated a birthday here.
They took very good care of us. We loved the wine, the food and the ambiance. We will definitely come back!"

Great food and service. Got really
noisy when a large group came in and was very very hot inside with people, the heaters, candles and hot food, but I should not complain with all the snow on the ground. Overall a good experience."
Dined on 12/14/2013
Food was bland, nothing
distinctive about it. But service was very good and the decor is warm and friendly."

My husband and I love to eat out
and La Galleria 33 is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently great, and the staff is friendly and very attentive. Nice North End location - great spot for family get togethers."

I decided to give this place a try
after getting a recommendation from a friend who lived in the North End for years and claimed this to be the best restaurant. I was truly disappointed from the moment I walked in. First the restaurant is very loud. I usually enjoy a loud energetic restaurant but I couldn't even hear my date sitting 2 feet across from me. I also noticed the restaurant had a very strong "seafood" type smell upon walking in which remained engraved in my clothes the entire evening. This was the first time I ordered a dish in the North End and thought I could have done a better job. The gnocchi came out mushy with a hint of a burnt taste and the sauce was nothing special. However, my dates dish tasted much better than mine."

We were very pleased with the food
and the atmosphere. North End at it's best and a little off the beaten path. Pasta like mama used to make."

My parents and I decided to come
to this place again after over a year. The menu was decent, not too extensive and they had a good selection of wines. Our wait staff was attentive throughout the night. We will be back again."

All four in our party had
different meals and everyone was very happy. Food was very fresh and tasty, service excellent. It was a bit noisier than we had hoped....how about some sound softening fabrics somewhere. All in all, a very nice evening."
Dined on 11/23/2013
Wine was fine. . Food portions for
main dishes are too small. I had eggplant parm that was tasty and reasonable size for me (not a huge eater). Sides of ziti were ridiculously small. The chicken cacciatori was way too small and would have left me hungry. If they are going to skimp on main dish portions at least be generous w/side pasta. Bread fresh but terribly boring. dip very nice."

We were seated right away - I
guess our reservation helped. Once seated our waitress asked if we were ready to order. What! We just sat down! We ordered cocktails and an appetizer - took 15 minutes for these to arrive to our table. Our appetizer was mussels - and were very good. We ordered our entree and then waited close to an hour. Waitress kept avoiding our table and finally the hostess came over and said she would look into this. At this point, all we wanted to do was eat and run out! We chose this restaurant because Gordon Ramsay supposedly was here to help them out - he should go back for a return episode to see how things are doing - I know we will not be returning unless the waitstaff changes."

had a team banquet for 12 diners.
restaurant provided a separate section, great food, reasonable prices, good service, finewine. couldn't have asked for it to be an better"

Restaurant was small and intimate,
loved the lighting and wall feature. Food was good, though I didn't think my steak deserved such a high price tag. We selected the wine that the server recommended. It was very good, though we had to pour our own refills. Server was pleasant."

Really loved the cozy atmosphere
here. The gnocchi was delicious!"

Great pasta at wondeful prices.
Very engaging waiter. Very nice evening. Tables are close together. Yummy bread. Linguine with White Clam sauce very good"

with clams. Best fried calamari I've had!"

each other Talk. Delicious home made gnocchi. Wife was Impressed had peeked the eggplant on eggplant Parmeasan. All in all a good value for home cooked food."

We recently moved to Boston and we
were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. While the food was great, we felt both rushed to make an order and ignored once we did order. We had to ask the busboy for bread and water. We had high hopes for an intimate dinner on the North End. I wouldn't recommend La Galleria 33 for a special occasion, though the food was very good."

My husband took me out to
celebrate my birthday at La Galleria 33 on a Saturday night. We seldom have time alone together to talk, and I was looking forward to the opportunity. I was extremely disappointed to find the restaurant crowded and noisy. While the appetizers (calamari) and entrees (shrimp and scallops over linguini and cod with a puttanesca sauce) we ordered were good, they were very oily and came with no sides. People moved in and out quickly, while the waiters and waitresses fluttered about trying to keep pace. After finishing my entrée, I asked for a cup of tea and was shocked to learn that the restaurant did not have that on the menu. So much for a little conversation and camaraderie with my husband!"

I've been to La Galleria several
times. The quality of food, service and ambiance has been terrific. This last time, however, I was very disappointed. I had my boyfriend in town for a romantic dinner. We were put in the back room behind a large party. We could barely hear each other. When the server brought us water, they were in MILLER LITE PINT GLASSES. When our antipasto came, the server said it had, "the cheese that goes on meatball subs" and then when we ordered a 2nd bottle of wine, the server forgot about it, but asked if we wanted it after taking our main course plates away. On a high note - the veal and cod were excellent, as well as the antipasto "with the meatball sub" cheese."

we all had good meals, the service
was just ok. our waiter was fairly new and didn't know much about the wine, he was a little abrupt and not very attentive. i didnt feel like anyone really cared if we were there or not. i wouldn't run back unfortunately."

Calamari appetizer was
excellent...nice, lightly seasoned fresh taste. Veal marsala good dish. Eggplant parmagiana was very midlle-of-the road."

Girls day in the city and we were
happy to have been tipped off in advance to the good food at this restaurant. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our waitress, although attentive, did seem alittle harried. We had to ask for water refills, cheese, etc Our food was served promptly. The calamari appetizer was probably the best I have ever had. Our entrees came out piping hot and the portion sizes were nice (altho not as large as some other italian style restaurants i have been too). Definately would recommend the eggplant parm! Overall, a very pleasant dining experience and would go back again."

Our reservation through Open Table
was for 7. We arrived early. They had the reservation but were willing to seat us early. It turned out to be a very busy night. Our waiter was a bit distracted, due to the rapidly increasing clientele. The maître d' or owner "stepped in" to pick up the slack. The food was very good and served but seemed to take a bit longer than appropriate to arrive. Again the maître d' stepped in. I had the chicken Galleria, sautéed chicken breasts with asparagus, peas, fontina, in a white wine, chicken broth reduction. It came with pasta. Very good- fresh and not overlooked. The chicken was tender, the veggies cooked just right. All-in-all a very pleasant dining experience. It does get quite busy on Saturday night."
Dined on 9/21/2013
We had a group of 7, so we were
happy to see a round table, not too common in the North End. The doors were open out to the street giving us a nice breeze and view of the activity on Salem Street. The wait staff was very good and the food was very good and the portions were excellent. All in all a very nice evening."
Dined on 9/22/2013
The food was good, although, I
felt the menu was a bit limited. Arrive early and you will receive attentive service. However, as it gets later into the evening it will get busy and crowded like most other popular North End locations. We were there for a special occasion dinner (9 year reunion) and felt a bit rushed throughout the meal. The location is nice and the interior is nicely decorated."
