The food was fabulous for the most part. We ordered the grilled calamari and it was FABULOUS. I'm actually very picky with calamari and this place was one of the better, along with Jump and Baton Rouge and definitely better than Oliver and Bonacini. We also haad the La Forchetta rolls, not so great in my opinion though. We also ordered sea scallops and the duck risotto, both were delicious. The service wasn't so great though. I'm thinking that it was because it's Christmas eve. We had 2 waiters, our first was great but when they switched over, she seemed completely ignored us the entire night.

Food was fantastic! Best Italian food ever. Extensive wine list and knowledgeable staff. The fixed price menu is a deal and offers a good variety of options, which is sometimes missing with fixed price. Try the mussels and La Forchetta rolls. Good find.

Ambiance was nice inside. We were crammed into a corner of the patio with our table 5 inches for the people next to us, it was as if we were sitting together. THe wine list was extensive. We had the sicilian rolls as appetizer which were amazing but too small. I ordered the Linguini di Mare and it was horrible...I love seafood, but this plate was nothing like I expected. My boyfriend had the red wine veal risotto and the taste of red wine was overpowering. The dessert of twice baked chocolate cake was tiny and unimpressive for 10 dollars. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere great...however the food was mediocre..we will not go back.

La Forchette is a hot spot in the 'Little Italy' part of town. The food is outstanding. The presentation is creative. I have always found the service to be warm and welcoming. The menu allows everyone to have a choice of fine cuisine. I have dined here several times and will be back again as soon as possible.

  • Overall, dinner at La Forchetta
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

Overall, dinner at La Forchetta was a gustatorial experience. If there was a fault where several dishes were concerned, it was one of excess: both the musk-ox and the green salad suffered from an excess of balsamic vinegar. A similar lack of subtlety of balsamic vinegar. Finally, thr ctispy duck was no longer crispy, also suffering from an excess of sauce. The seafood risotto was excellent as were the desserts.

All of us ordered from the prix fixe menu, which was reasonably priced and the food was outstanding. In fact, I DETEST salmon (as a rule) and my friend's wife, who ordered the salmon, insisted that I must try a bit of hers. Long story short, I FINALLY found salmon prepared in a way that is enjoyable. Also loved our chicken supreme. Everything was excellent and - although it was probably frustrating for the wait staff that my wife and I and the other couple kept talking without reading the menu (we hadn't seen each other in 25 years!), they did not rush us and handled our long time at the table (almost 3 hours) very patiently and professionally. Definitely will return again! Thanks

We had our doubts when we entered and saw only one other table occupied but that wasn't representative of the popularity of the restaurant as it filled up quite well after 8pm. We were very pleased with the food, the ambiance and the service and would happily return there; we eat out a lot and we've added La Forchetta to our favourites list. Our only disappointment was that our special occasion (our anniversary, as noted on the OpenTable reservation) was not recognized in any way. No biggie. I would absolutely recommend (and I already have) this restaurant to anyone who likes great food and service. We'll return at our earliest opportunity.

From the warm bread served at the beginning of the meal to the outstanding pasta dishes to the decadent desserts, the food was comforting and flavourful. The sweet potato gnocchi was cooked to perfection in a gooey cheesey sauce that delighted the palate. One of Little Italy's best dining spots! Our first time there, and now our new favourite find!

I was impressed from my first visit to La Forchetta on College St. The ambiance is very warm and inviting. A huge display of wine bottles and glassware just introduced me to a very extensive wine list at least 20 pages long. The large selection of 1/2 bottles came to me as a surprise and I took advantage of a 375ml Tignanello with my appetizer of seared Italian Porcini mushrooms with grilled polenta and artichoke hearts. This match was amazing but maybe surpassed by thier mains, of Pan roasted Ontario venison rack with grilled fennel and white Truffle oil. My wife had homemade spaghetti with Neapolitan cherry tomatoes & shiitake mushrooms. The service was very polite and knowledgable. In all, I'm very glad I discovered this restaurant
