La Fontana CoastWorth the waitYou have to love the food and the service. Great dinner for 3 couples. The food makes the wait more than tolerable. We waited for about 30 mins past our reservation. The problem was not so much the wait but the foyer was overcrowded. LaFontana could have controlled it better but the customers were just rude. My advice would be to not over-book and limit the number of people waiting inside. Once seated the wait staff was wonderful offering quick service and complimentary apps. We arrived at our reservation time but the table was slightly delayed. Much to our surprise and delight, the staff made a makeshift table out of a chair, opened our wine and brought a complimentary appetizer. We were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation. The meal was great, I ordered capellini positano and my wife had the salmon, we shared the special appetizer. I would rate all 5*. The service made the difference. Had 7:15 reservation - did not get seated until 8:00. Why make a reservation? This is not the first time this has happened. People were allowed to wait in dining room making it hard for servers to pass. I was waiting for a dish to go down someone's back. People were also permitted to stand right in front of desk - took me 10 minutes to give hostess my name. They definitely need a better system. Our visit on Sat May 4th was a great kickoff to our summer season at the shore . The food is wonderfully prepared with great sauces . The wait staff are polished and the atmosphere great . Energetic but perfect for all ages and food for all tastes . Prices are reasonably moderate for the quality of the dinners and BYOB is a real plus.
