  • "If you want something different and unique that is also fun and tasty, go to La Fondue. It's one of my favorite birthday restaurants. This restaurant is perfect for a family meal but also works well for a romantic evening. There are several rooms, and many of the tables give a feeling of being separated from the other tables. Decor is fun and interesting. Don't miss the chocolate fondue for dessert. "

  • "Start if off with BYOB with No corkage fee! Break the mouth fondue cheeses with mushrooms and veggies, fruits and goodies to dip. A salad and then more fondues to choose from. We went straight to dark chocolate and things Devine to dip with and then a glass of champaine came out to say thanks for coming! Oh yes, we'll return... Our experience was anniversary special and really good..."

  • "My husband and I used to live in the Bay Area, when we were first married, and would go to La Fondue once or twice a year for a treat. We now live in Canada, but when we are in the area, we usually make it to La Fondue because I've never been disappointed. We've never had bad food, or bad service, or a bad time. We are foodies, and there are not a lot of places that we eat that we couldn't do better at home, but this place has a unique offering - I mean who has a grill built into their table to cook their food at the table and chat and relax for a couple of hours with friends or away from the kids for a quiet chat and enjoyable meal? • "I am a fan on Fondue and La Fondue does it well. The wide variety of meats is rare and lets individuals try things the may never have in small portions. The option of different cooking methods is great for large groups in case someone does not care to boil their meat, there is the flat grill option (which I love!). Will keep coming back here over and over again."

  • "Had the 3 course special. Fondue was great. They make it for you and you dip bread, fruits and veggies. Then we barbecued our own meat (combination of chicken, beef, turkey, and fish). It was quite tasty. Finally ended with a chocolate fondue with fruits and cakes. All very good. Nice ambience."

  • "I made a reservation for six. Four of us arrived on time, but two guests called saying would arrive 30 minuets late. The manager said he could not seat us until all six were there. We asked if we could be seated at our table and have some drinks while waiting for the other two. They said no, and had us standing in the lobby until everybody arrived. The food is very good. The attitude and handling of reservations is poor."

  • "La Fondue has always been a go to place for us for a great dinner. Good wine list, great service, and incredible cheese fondue selection. We are veterans of this place and will continue to come back. They are very accommodating and friendly. .. even with my 3-year-old."

  • "It was my second visit in many years. Loved it! Great service, and great delicacy meats. It was even better than i remembered it!"

  • "We reserve this for a once or twice a year treat, but I always wonder why when we go. The cheese fondue to start and the chocolate fondue to finish is outstanding. The food choices are always fun along with the various cooking choices. Just a great restaraunt to bring a close friend."

  • "...is FUN!!! Lots of exotic choices of meats, fresh salad, wonderful cheese, generous portions, great service & the best part is at the end: chocolate fondue!!!! Even my picky teen loves going there!"

  • "I've heard great things about La Fondue before coming here. I went for a friend's birthday over the weekend and I was impressed by the ambience, service and chocolate fondue. I thought the cheese, salad and meats were good but not amazing. The experience was fun but I would only come back for the chocolate fondue and the fun ambience."

  • "We had the Fondue Feast and thought the cheese fondue was wonderful, salad was pretty good, the main course was so-so, and the dessert was good. It was a bit dark for old people to even read the menu. Though our server explained the menu to us it was still a bit confusing. I would go back for the cheese fondue and dessert only. The meats in the main course were not very tasty and the grill was not hot enough. Our server said it would take like 45 seconds but we left ours on for many minutes and still did not grill. One person said it was as high as it would go so we just dealt with it. I think some of our seafood was not cooked enough but with the lighting it was hard to tell. It did not taste cooked."

  • "We came to La Fondue after hiking with some friends and our dogs up the Saratoga Springs. This was our 4th time here. We requested a table outside on the patio, so our dogs could join us. We ordered the Stinking Rose- it was so good, we ordered a 2nd! Salads were fresh & full of goodies! We grilled Kobe beef, filet, turkey, pork, chicken, wild boar, prawns, and scallops. Then had dark chocolate fondue, served with strawberries, bananas, grapes, marshmallows, cookie dough, and Rice Krispie treats. We were spoiled with excellent food & service and our dogs were, too...They got filet scraps!!! It was great. We didn't have to leave them in the car and hurry through dinner worrying about them, and they were exhausted, well-behaved, and FULL!!"

  • "The food was not bad, but I was disappointed. The quality and flavor of the food was not on par with the price. I liked the dessert, chocolate covered fruits and cake is always a winner! The restaurant needs better lighting."

  • "loved the cheese fondue, best part of the meal, but disappointing that the cheese pot is removed from a table of two to make room for the grill ;( overall fun dining concept and tasty food"

  • "Great place for an anniversary or other special occasion dinner. They've added a new cooking method which makes it even better. The cast iron is roomy enough to keep track of whose food is who's while cooking. And it's shallow enough so everyone can see what's going on. The staff also is familiar with which items have allergens. That helped a lot when avoiding lesser known allergens, like soy. The chocolate is definitely the best part. And somehow we ended up with chocolate left in the pot, so they bring you more goodies to dip."

  • "This was not my first visit to this establishment. In fact this resteraunt is where my wife and I choose to make our special occasion dinners. However after this last visit this may have to be rethought. The waiter did not introduce himself at any point in the evening. He didn't make any type of casual conversation, explain anything that he was doing which took away a bit from the experience that we are accustomed to at the resteraunt."

  • "I'd been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. Was always one of my favorites. I used to rave about the food and it being a relaxing and romantic experience. Until now. The service sucked. It's like an overpriced "Chuckey Cheese" We were being rushed throughout the meal by not only our server but another server who were literally interrupting our meal every two minutes attempting to move us on to the next course before we were even done. It was clear from the crowd in the lobby, that they were overbooking the place and trying to push us out for another party to rush through. It was loud and the staff were darting around all over the place. Not at all relaxing and a HUGE disappointment! Not sure I will ever go there again. Lame..."

  • "Only reason why I gave the food four stars is because the venison was not very tasty (not the restaurant's fault though). All of the sea food was SO fresh. Nothing about the decor made any sense, but it somehow worked. Would definitely come back here for a special occasion."

  • "We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant. We will definitely return for more dishes. The cheese and chocolate fondue were so delicious. We had The Wild Thing & grilled last time. Surf & Turf will be next to try. Service was great; very well-timed and friendly. Thanks for providing us a wonderful night."

  • "We tried the Fondue Feast and it was delicious and overfilling! Take the salads to go because there will still be too much. For the cheese fondue we ordered the Stinkin Rose which was very good and best with fruits and pickles. For the main course we enjoyed the Polynesian Chicken, Pork, Tiger Shrimp, Kangaroo, Buffalo, and Antelope. The Buffalo and Antelope were incredibly tasty and I can now see the appeal of the Wild Thing option. Chocotastic chocolate fondue was perfect by being both smooth and delicious without overwhelming. A gripe was the servers were attentive without intelligence. We ordered wine and cocktails and were asked multiple times if we were done with them when they were obviously more than half full."

  • "Love the food, the service, the staff ... I'd prefer a little more light but I also could have asked to be seated at a better lit space too. I have no doubt they would have accommodated my request!"

  • "Took our daughter who absolutely loved the 4 cheese fondue. We grilled the meats which each had a distinct flavor; dipping sauces were good too. MIlk chocolate fondue with Frangelico was a sweet ending. Pricey but fun once in a while."

  • "I have been to some other "fondue" restaurants. Only La Fondue is the real thing. The four course meal, with a salad, cheese, meat, and chocolate desert course, is amazing, and has been since I first went probably more than 15 years ago. I highly recommend it."

  • "Food was good, service great. They are able to accommodate food allergies and limitations without any problem. ( no gluten for me). We were there on a Tuesday night so it was quiet and we could take advantage of their 'no corkage fee Monday thru Wednesday' policy to keep the cost down. We'll definitely go back."

  • "Up sides: beautiful decor/ambiance, fun food. Salads were phenomenal, recommend splitting them if you don't want leftovers. I loved the cheese and the dessert fondues. Down sides: menu was incredibly difficult to decipher, it was difficult to keep track of how much we were spending because of the menu, and the waitress screwed up our take home food (leftover salads) and gave everyone the wrong ones. In the end, with drinks, it was about $80/head which I thought was a bit pricey. Also, the main course fondue and grill was just okay, not great. We thought they should use colored forks because it's hard to keep track of what's what. The sauces should be labelled as it was difficult to remember what they were."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "They call it La Fondue for a reason. The cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue are highlights, go there for those. Don't order the overprices combos, the salads are dense (too much stuff, where's the spinach?) and the entrees so not worth it. The veggies take waaaay too long to cook in the broth (5 minutes is really 15) and "The Feast" on the metal skillet is better done at a Korean BBQ. Was going to give it two stars but the waiter was great and worked his buns off moving all the plates, pots, and dishes around. If you want a regular entree there are better restaurants in Saratoga, if you want a great fondue, stay with the basics and this will be an good choice."

  • "Three of us decided to try this restaurant. We have been traveling to Switzerland every winter, and often enjoy Swiss cheese fondue while we're there, so we wanted to give La Fondue a try. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It was a Saturday evening and the atmosphere was lively. Despite how busy it was, however, our waiter Jeff was attentive and very helpful. The menu is confusing because we only wanted to have cheese fondue, and there are all these choices for various additions of meat and fish. In the end, we stuck with the cheese and it was fine. For a fondue experience, we would recommend it, and we would return."

  • "This restaurant is a must go to place and quickly became my new favorite. From the variety of cook it yourself meats (kangaroo, antelope, as well as standard meats) to the wonderful service from every member of the staff. There is no doubt we will be back and bringing more people with us. The entire feel of the restaurant is amazing and even though it was crowded, we felt like we had our own private area."

  • "My husband and I just adore La Fondue. Whenever we crave a special evening with class and excitement--but don't want the crazy of SF, we head to La Fondue. We always save ~85% of the delicious, finely chopped salad for the next day, as the meals are huge. The cheese fondue has become my personal favorite. The Cajun/Bacon - shrimp, bacon, buttermilk, cheddar, beer, and spices (how could you go wrong?!) is absolutely delectable. I am glad they're bringing in some new exotic meats (lamb, venison, mako shark), because they've let a lot go over time (python, llama, crocodile, wild duck, etc.), which was a shame. The chocolate fondue is quite decadent. A good range of chocolate and flavors to choose from. Good value, terrific experience."

  • "I had dinner with my wife, a good place for a night out. The cheese fondue was excellent. When ordering off the a la carte menu, the restaurant has a requirement to order minimum two fondue dishes per person. They counted cheese fondue as two dishes. We ordered a fish and a steak fondue and we could not finish not even half they served us. Great place for big eaters."
