La Focaccia's parking lot is located in the corner of LaFayette Avenue across from the Somerset Hills Bank. Should that lot be full, customers can also park in the Washington School parking lot across from the bank.

The service was great, and the
appetizers and salads were excellent. We were seated immediately. We all loved the bread and the olive oil dip. Where it lacked in flavor were the pasta dishes. All four of us agreed on that. The portions of the main dishes looked hearty and large, but we were in the mood for pasta. I had the cream sauce with mushrooms and spinach. Very bland. Even after adding parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Still bland. Each of us found our pasta to be well cooked, yet bland. Order a main dish. Perhaps share a pasta dish."

Have been going here for years.
The food is always delicious and the service professional. Only "issue" is there's usually a wait, even with a reservation but they'll open your wine for you. Would recommend this restaurant for consistent, always well prepared Italian food in a warm, inviting atmosphere."

My husband and I along with
another couple enjoyed another outstanding dining experience at La Focaccia this past Saturday night. The food is delicious, the service is delightful and the ambiance is very attractive. I highly recommend their Fried Artichoke, a Roman specialty, for an appetizer, it is light, crispy and melts in your mouth - just as if you were eating in Rome! Two of us enjoyed Rack of Lamb and the other two entrees [Venison and Beef carpaccio] were all big hits. Can't wait to return!"

An enjoyable experience on a cold
Wednesday night. Relatively low noise level, some interesting dishes (mussels, sweetbreads, a great tiramisu) and BYOB. What's not to like?"

Restaurant seemed out of control
on a busy Saturday night. Tables are crammed together. Noise level was uncomfortably loud, making it hard to hear at our table. Our white wine bottle disappeared from the ice bucket in the middle of our dinner. Waiter brought us a full bottle of previously opened wine as a compensating gesture. He then checked our payment to see if we had tipped adequately, which was truly rude. It is a shame that a restaurant that basically serves quite nice food should be run in such an irritating and uneven manner."

Have been to La focaccia several
times. Never a bad meal. anything on menu is terrific. We brought extended family and a 2 and 7 yr old. The kids were there before and love good quality food. WE usually dont take them to restaurants for more mature audiences but thanks to quiet table toys and ipad, they were very well behaved. Both my in laws and my kids loved the food just as much as we have in the past. It is always consistently high quality food and service. Staff is very pleasant. thank you."

After waiting at our table for 45
minutes, the waiter and kitchen staff realized they forgot our order. So, we had to reorder again. Crowded, bunched together with other people. Slow service due to the packing I am sure. It was our friend's Birthday, which was noted, no acknowledgement. For poor service we got 4 chocolate strawberries and 1 piece of leathery cheese cake. Will never consider it again. Food was at best mediocre. Then we were able to draw the attention of anyone of the wait staff, it turns out our waiter had left for the evening. So arrived on time for reservation; waited 15 minutes to be seated and between the screw up, left at 11."

Valentine's Day dinner was

This true Italian restaurant
tucked away in a small neighborhood is a real gem. The decor is sophisticated, calm, neutral and very pleasant -- designed to enhance the diner's social and gustatory experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is always excellent, fish of all kinds are prepared to perfection-- here a shrimp takes like a shrimp and not a piece of rubber drenched in a sauce. I'm not a meat eater but my friends are and from liver to venison to veal and steaks their reviews are consistently glowing. My standard for pasta is high and this place hits the mark. Service by a staff of experience waiters is swift, professional without artifice and just friendly enough not to be intrusive. BYOB. We are never disappointed --"

I met a gilfriend out for dinner
to catch up at La Foccacia. We wanted to try something new and so after going through my Open Table options in the area we settled on here. Its a typical italian trattoria style restaurant fromt he decor to the menu. I can't say that La Foccacia truly stood apart from my usual Italian spots however; the food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. It was busy enough were there was chatter across the dining room but not so loud that I couldn't chat away with my friend for 3 hours. The waitstaff never tried to push us out and happily refilled our water and wine glasses long afetr we finished our meals. Not an outside the box menu but overall a nice italian meal!"

Our service was lacking. The
waiter took our order and that was it. Didn't check back to see how we were doing. He also put his tip on the bill -- possibly because we had an Amazon promotional certificate. The food was ok but overpriced for what it was. My husband's veal entree was skimpy and my son's chicken fingers were almost $20 for a child's portion of deep fried chicken with fries. Wouldn't recommend."

Took my girlfriend's family here
as an holiday-time, appreciation type dinner. The food was good and the service, though fast and attentive, was not warm and friendly. It was nice that it was a BYOB, and the prices were in range for what I'd expect from this style restaurant, but portions of some dishes were drastically smaller compared to other comparable ones. The one real negative that stood out was the fact that there were about twice as many tables crammed in as there should have been, which also added to the volume. It didn't help that we were seated dead center between the two dining rooms, and therefore experienced the most foot traffic."

Everything we ordered was beautifully prepared and presented. Service was outstanding without being obtrusive. Only complaint was the table was a bit tight for four which included three big guys. That won't keep us from returning to La Foccacia!"

I first came here in the spring
for a retirement party. I was wowed by the fresh seasonal specials like goat cheese stuffed zucchini blossoms. Came back in the winter for a birthday celebration, and once again was impressed with the seasonal specials. We all had the tuscan onion soup which was very similar to traditional French onion soup, but with a smoky twist. My daughter, who limits her gluten intake, was quite impressed with the risotto with shrimp and peas. My husband raved about his veal tenderloin, and I savored every bite of my grilled shrimp - the white bean puree that comes with it is a special treat. Even my young son, who only wanted plain pasta proclaimed that it was the best pasta he had ever had at a restaurant!"

We had a wonderful meal at La
Foccacia. Two of us had their veal chop special, with mushroom sauce and two others had a the game hen. All were great dishes, my chop I ordered medium rare and probably got more like medium, but it was still extremely good. It is a BYOB place and we had a great bottle of wine that I brought to go with the meal. For desert we tried a pumpkin cheese cake and a lime pie, both are extremely good and enjoyable. Overall a great experience and recommend the restaurant to all."

We were three couples out to
dinner here on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but our reserved table was waiting for us and we were seated immediately. Despite how busy they were, the service was excellent, attentive but unobtrusive. We never waited or wanted for anything. Dinner was delicious from the oysters we ordered for the table, to the interesting salads everyone ordered for appetizers. My escarole salad was perfect as was my friend's shaved brussel sprout salad. The men had different pastas for their entrees -- all unique and excellent. The special lamb chops were cooked and seasoned perfectly. All in all, a wonderful dining experience."

I really enjoyed our dinner at La
Focaccia. The asparagus soup was absolutely delicious without being too creamy or heavy. I had a pasta dish that was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. It needed nothing. We split the most delicious hot apple pie for dessert. We will definitely be going back. As others have noted, parking is a bit difficult to find, but it is worth walking the distance necessary to enjoy a lovely dinner."

It says a lot about a place when
the same waiters have been here for 20 years, when you need a reservation on the day after Thanksgiving, when they smile at your 3 bottles of wine and take care of them appropriately. No wonder La Focaccia is always full of locals who adore their great food and charming ambiance. If you are in the area and want a bit of upscale Jersey Italian, this is it."

we went to La Focaccia on the
Friday after Thanksgiving. We thought it would be empty. Just the reverse was true. thank god, we had used open table and reserved a table. La Focaccia is BYOB. the food was superb. we shared a buratta appetizer and a plate of the gnocchi before the main course. the gnocchi were light, puffs sitting on a bed of ricotta - unbelievably delicious. the buratta was fresh and creamy. while the food was superb, our waiter was too busy paying attention to the 6 person table and not enough attention to our 2 person table. guess he thought our tip was not worth his attention. despite the lackluster waiter, we will return and definitely recommend this for a delicious meal for any occasion."

We have been dining at LF for many
years. Every meal is memorable and the service is very good especially considering how crowded it is… which leads me to ... the only thing that keep us from coming more often is the wait and the parking. Even when making reservations via OpenTable, there was a 20 minute wait. The only parking available is the limited few spaces not he street out front and the one-side only side street. Consider yourself lucky if you only have to walk a block. BUT It is well worth the wait and walk!"

They accommodated a group of 15 on
a Friday night with relatively short notice and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Service was excellent and we never found ourselves looking for a waiter. I had the pepper crusted sirloin which was one of the best steaks I have had - I regularly dine at top-rated steak houses and restaurants. Everyone else in our party had great things to say about their food."

We have been coming to La Focaccia
for many years and always enjoyed it. BUT... now we have noticed that the prices are getting too high for a neighborhood restaurant. Salads as appetizers 12.00 - 14.00 and the portion very small. I ordered an arugula salad with a goat cheese crostini. The goat cheese was so small I ate it in one bite. Then I ordered a pasta special. Papparedelle and mushroom- $28.00!!! OUCH!!!! I should have asked the price of the special OR , actually, the waiter should have told us. The restaurant is always busy, but I am not sure that the regulars are still coming. We noticed groups of women and groups of men. NY prices in Summit NJ, ???"
