Selection of cheeses, meats and condiments was a delight. If the bacon jam is offered in the market I’ll stock up. My companion had Lamb Loin, Spinach Feta Ravioli in Preserved Lemon Reduction. Lamb was slightly over cooked but good. Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Pulled Pork Belly over Fava Potato Puree in Spring Onion Broth. Pork was well prepared and very flavorful. Roasted Mushrooms with Herbs and Toasted Garlic, delicious. We finished our evening by ordering Cheese Cake and Butterscotch Pudding. Both desserts were very balanced and enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. The closeness of the table may be an issue for those not accustomed to smaller restaurants and noise level is high. The decor is simple with easy parking.

Service was a bit slow for those of us on our lunch hour. One table of two ordered drinks and left before having their order taken. Food is always first rate. It seems as if they perhaps had not contemplated a full house for lunch on a Monday the last week in August.

Got a table at LA Fia to reward my partner for holding down the fort while I was away. Salmon pot, charcuterie and cheese, merguez spiced lamb, gnocchi, and dessert were all spot on. Service was attentive, but not obtrusive. Just an overall excellent night.

I can't get over how amazing the food is at La Fia! The chef is incredible at showcasing the farm fresh ingredients in every one of his dishes! I have NEVER been disappointed and would recommend this restaurant to ANYBODY! The restaurant filled up with other business lunch goers almost immediately after we arrived for lunch (at noon). The ambiance and noise levels were absolutely fine, even during their busy lunch rush. The service was excellent throughout our visit, very difficult during their busy rush! Our waitress was very attentive and quick, she got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time so we could get back to work! I was impressed by every aspect of La Fia during our visit- So thank you, La fia, for another great experience!

The restaurant is nicely designed with cool custom details. It's obviously done on a budget but "tres chic." It's bright during the daytime with lots of views out onto the street, which is very nice, and more intimate at night with comfortable but lower light levels. I was happiest with the appetizers, soups and deserts. They were more interesting than the main course and also very pretty. The main course was good but not "oo-la-la!" good. I have been once for lunch and once for dinner, and will go again.

A treasure in downtown. A lovely old building of red stone across the street, the World Cafe at the Queen across another street. Service was attentive but not obsequious. Waiter was knowledgeable about the beers, recommending one based on my partner's usual likes and giving me a sample of the newly added sauvingnon blanc before I ordered. We had a mix of small plates and an entree - all were well cooked and imagined. I had lamb. The waiter said it came medium rare, but know that it was pretty rare. Not a problem for me, but if you are looking for something less rare, speak up. Fresh ingredients;inventive combinations. Wonderful bread. Loved the ambiance - not too noisy on Thursday - important as I like being able to hear my tablemate. Go!

La Fia rates as a top dining experience comparable to the best in any major city. We loved the squid appetizer. The duck and the cod entries were both perfectly prepared as were the accompaniments. The butterscotch pudding was among the best desserts I've had anywhere. The service was helpful and prompt. The ambiance was pleasant and the noise level low enough for easy conversation. We actually stopped at one point to determine if there was background music playing or not: There was, but it was soft enough that it didn't over-power conversation. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We went on a Tuesday evening and did not expect the 1/2 price wine deals. This made the evening even better. The Olive Oil Poached Salmon was fabulous! The three of us were very happy with a really great meal. The only issue was the relatively high noise level that made conversation difficult. This is a popular restaurant and reservations are a must - esp on Tuesday and any night that there is a show in Wilmington.

La Fia is on par with the best restaurants in Philly and NYC. Their food is farm to table fresh, exciting flavors and combinations. The plates are beautiful upon presentation. Yet the atmosphere is relaxing and not pretentious. The staff is warm, knowledgable and very helpful. We absolutely love this restaurant and can't recommend it highly enough. Standouts are the octopus, ricotta, duck entree and miso glazed black cod. The prices are extremely fair as we found the portion sizes ample and more than enough to fill us. We will be back soon!

Everything we had was memorable. Food is inventive without being weird. Wonderful flavor combinations, beautiful presentations. But....the noise level was almost unbearable. Wood floors, no tablecloths and a tin ceiling. I do not understand why restaurant owners/designers think this is acceptable. You can still have a great vibe with much less noise. Wine by the glass was a rather chintzy pour. And, yes, the neighborhood was a little sketchy leaving at 10pm. Have been for Saturday brunch also; food just as good. Fewer people there that day so noise was not noticeable.

Three of us went to La Fia to have a "grazing" dinner....what a wonderful place to do it as all the small plates are tempting and delicious. Two of us have been to La Fia many times and it was the first time for the third diner. It exceeded her expectations. Each dish was perfection, both in plating and taste. It was so much fun for all of us. They have a lovely wine list to compliment the courses...it's a casual restaurant with a warm feel. The hickory smoked scallops, housemade ricotta, asparagus, red snapper ceviche, and smoked haddock plates were fabulous. The entrees we tried that evening included the berkshire pork which we all agreed was sublime. The evening could not have been more perfect with Amanda's top notch service!

We had been hearing about this restaurant for a while now. (Tried to get reservations for seven of us a few weeks ago for my parents 60th anniversary but that didn't work out.) The food including the cocktails (Spring Garden and the Bourbon Smash) were sublime. We started with the cheese and meat board; two words, bacon jam! I had the black cod and my husband had the Berkshire pork tenderloin for entrees. Both were amazingly good. We split the espresso mousse for dessert and between the two of us could not finish it even though it was amazingly good. Food was tasty and rich. Atmosphere was charming and the service was perfect. We will be back to try other dishes!

Went for lunch and took a friend because I had been there before for lunch and loved it. The was no crowd and we were seated quickly. We both started with the mushroom soup. It was quite good with lots of mushroom flavor and a nice consistency. I rarely salt my food, but my friend and I both thought that the soup could a have used some during preparation. I ordered a rare burger on a whole grain bun. I received a burger on a regular bun and I told my server who proceeded to bring out a whole grain bun so that I could move my burger to the right bun. He should have taken it back to the kitchen for this. I also pointed out that it was well-done and not rare. So after a wait I received my quite delicious rare cheeseburger.

It is a quaint little restaurant on Market ave., so reservations are a must especially on weekends! After trying the inventive cocktails, homemade rolls, and extremely fresh salads....we were allready having the discussion of this place being in our top 5 dining experiences thus far! Every time we took a bite we closed our eyes to take in the amazing flavors in each dish! Definitely a must try if you are in the area...you won't be disappointed!! Went to Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore for my birthday....why didn't I go to La Fia? We started with the Ceviche and two Manhattans. Perfect. The crab gazpacho was delicious, but the grilled asparagus...major hit. Took it to the next level with the parmesan sauce, prosciutto and sunny side up quail egg w/crispy onions..ummmm. THEN we tried the new summer appetizer...amazing...hickory smoked scallop, royal trumpet mushrooms, white grapes in an ice wine vinegar...supple, sweet, smokey goodness. Main courses were both incredible...how do they maximize every flavor? The wild halibut and duo of beef were wonderful. Capping off the dinner with a caramel semi freddo with stone fruit gelee and compote with the most perfect Vin Santo. bliss.....

Second lunch visit at La Fia. For many years, I had trouble finding a really good lunch spot beyond old standbys like the Green Room and Deep Blue. La Fia is a step up, with great choices and ingredients. I'm not downtown for dinner, but am told it is a great evening selection as well. Our table had the cobb salad. On my last visit, I enjoyed a very good cheese plate as well. You can't really go wrong here. I was a huge fan of Django in Philadelphia...and always enjoy dining in a Sikora restaurant.
