Took my adult children who are very discriminating about food. The next day there were lots of facebook comments flying around about how terrific their dinner at La Fia had been. I completely agree! My only complaint was the noise- they need to think about some acoustical fixes.

Octopus app. Was completely charred. Husband didn't want to complain, until he received the swordfish also burnt. Finally spoke with the manager, who apologized stating it was due to their new grill. She tasted the fish and stated it was burnt. I opted for a cheese platter which was nominal. The scallops were ok. Drinks overpriced. Butterscotch dessert was also just ok. We were so looking forward to this meal after reading reviews. So disappointed. The manager removed the fee for the octopus and fish dish which we only tasted. The service was as stated by others=lacking. After waiting awhile for our drinks and an additional 15 minutes, we finally asked for bread since it was never. I wish I could include a pic of the charred food.

This is a small restaurant in an old building on Market Street. Has some ambiance with tall ceilings, bay windows, and nice decor. We ordered a combination of small plates, all of which were excellant. Service was excellant. The only problem was noise. We came in for an early dinner before the Theater and there was a large group for happy hour. The bar is in the same small room with the tables and the noise was so bad it was difficult to have a conversation across the table. So if you want a quiet dinner, don't go at happy hour. Also when we left, we were met by a police officer on foot patrol who cautioned us to be safe. We didn't see any reason to worry but the police must be there for a reason.

A group of us came for lunch prior to the matinee performance at DuPont Theatre. Service was fine, friendly and attentive, our food was very good, including the four different desserts that we rotated among us. but... LaFia is also a bakery. When leaving, I asked to buy two baguettes. I was sold the two from the counter display. This seemed odd, but we needed to get to the play and I did not question it. Well, the bread was totally stale. I can't imagine intentionally selling stale bread - there is no way they did not know how long the bread had sat out. It makes me question their concern for their customers - even when ones who had just bought drinks, lunch, and dessert. IF I go there again, I'll skip the bakery.

Menu was very innovating. Food fit for foodies. The potato gnocchi were melt in your mouth. Eggplant fries were perfectly complemented, not oily, with a sweet tomato and raisin sauce. Butterscotch pudding dessert with a crunch was a topper along with the apple semi freddo. Could not decide which was better. Delicious!

La Fia was excellent!! I was so happy to find a truly great restaurant in Wilmington that feels like it would belong in Philadelphia. The food was top notch, the service was excellent, and the cocktails (while a little pricey) were delicious. We will definitely return to La Fia.

This was a special occasion meal, our son who lives in DC was in Delaware and treated us to dinner. We wanted to avoid the Restaurant Week menus and had visited LaFia a few months ago, therefore knew that how good the food was. Our meal was delicious, the service very good. The only drawback was a nearby table of very vocal women. Once they departed, the atmosphere changed and we had an enjoyable meal. Interesting that he Washington Post had published an article about LaFia a few months ago…stating that it was well worth the trip to Delaware.

So many delicious lunch menu options. Enjoyed a delicious and fresh take on the traditional cobb salad with a glass of crisp sauvignon blanc. Large portion, generous pour, clean, bright but cozy atmosphere, and friendly, professional service. Its clear the staff loves working here as much as the patrons love dining here. Bring plenty of loose change for parking meters.

We got to the restaurant a bit early because, amazingly, the traffic was not as intense as anticipated ...so we just ducked in to see if they could accommodate us ...they had already accommodated us by adding another person to our party (I was not able to contact them through Open Table so I called). They graciously seated us then and we were assigned to a very professional yet charming young woman who was patient with our questions and poised in her responses. The food was delicious...a nice variety on the menu all that we ordered was well prepared. It was such a pleasant experience.

Selection of cheeses, meats and condiments was a delight. If the bacon jam is offered in the market I’ll stock up. My companion had Lamb Loin, Spinach Feta Ravioli in Preserved Lemon Reduction. Lamb was slightly over cooked but good. Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Pulled Pork Belly over Fava Potato Puree in Spring Onion Broth. Pork was well prepared and very flavorful. Roasted Mushrooms with Herbs and Toasted Garlic, delicious. We finished our evening by ordering Cheese Cake and Butterscotch Pudding. Both desserts were very balanced and enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. The closeness of the table may be an issue for those not accustomed to smaller restaurants and noise level is high. The decor is simple with easy parking.

I can't get over how amazing the food is at La Fia! The chef is incredible at showcasing the farm fresh ingredients in every one of his dishes! I have NEVER been disappointed and would recommend this restaurant to ANYBODY! The restaurant filled up with other business lunch goers almost immediately after we arrived for lunch (at noon). The ambiance and noise levels were absolutely fine, even during their busy lunch rush. The service was excellent throughout our visit, very difficult during their busy rush! Our waitress was very attentive and quick, she got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time so we could get back to work! I was impressed by every aspect of La Fia during our visit- So thank you, La fia, for another great experience!

The restaurant is nicely designed with cool custom details. It's obviously done on a budget but "tres chic." It's bright during the daytime with lots of views out onto the street, which is very nice, and more intimate at night with comfortable but lower light levels. I was happiest with the appetizers, soups and deserts. They were more interesting than the main course and also very pretty. The main course was good but not "oo-la-la!" good. I have been once for lunch and once for dinner, and will go again.

A treasure in downtown. A lovely old building of red stone across the street, the World Cafe at the Queen across another street. Service was attentive but not obsequious. Waiter was knowledgeable about the beers, recommending one based on my partner's usual likes and giving me a sample of the newly added sauvingnon blanc before I ordered. We had a mix of small plates and an entree - all were well cooked and imagined. I had lamb. The waiter said it came medium rare, but know that it was pretty rare. Not a problem for me, but if you are looking for something less rare, speak up. Fresh ingredients;inventive combinations. Wonderful bread. Loved the ambiance - not too noisy on Thursday - important as I like being able to hear my tablemate. Go!
