The wait staff worked as a team so whoever was passing by took plates, filled water, etc. The meal was served at a leisurely pace with lovely operatic music in the background. Food was tasty, yet not exceptional for the price. One exception was The branzino fish filleted table side. it truely was exceptional in presentation and taste. Desserts were subpar

It was fabulous. Time has not altered the experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and beautifully presented. The wine list is impressive and we had a wonderful red. The staff was courteous, attentive, friendly but never intrusive. Service is the best in Philly by far. You know you are in great hands when the woman running the bar remembers your drinks and where you sat 2 months ago (our 1st visit). Eggplant appetizer was unbelieveable. Veal Osso Buco was also outstanding. If you're looking for a bargain or good deal though this isn't the place. I had the pollo tricolore which came to about 25$ I think with 2 medium sized chicken breast and some vegetables. There were 6 of us and we ordered both standard menu items and the specials for that day. Everyone was thrilled with their choices and thanks to a little sharing within the group we all got to sample several different items. The staff were attentative but did not hover and we never felt pressured to finish up and leave. For pasta dishes, we tried the porcini fettuccine and Seafood Tagliolini - both very good!
For mains, we ordered the sea bass and bronzino. The bronzino was cleanly filleted tableside - a nice touch. Both were good, but a bit too salty for our taste buds.
Dessert was not good, but great service and nice experience overall. The service was properly skilled and attentive for a reasonably high end restaurant. However, I was very much non-plussed by the waiter's insitance on my ordering the wine before my companion and I had selected our dinners from the menu. In fact we were presented with the wine list and asked what we wanted from it even before we received the menus. I finally had to ask for a menu and state quite bluntly that I was not going to order wine until my companion and I decided what we were going to eat.
