  • "Tried out La Fabrique for weekend brunch. The menu is a nice break from the standard brunch fare-- no Eggs Benedict and hashbrown-laden plates here. We tried the tuna nicoise bagel, which was a little difficult to eat and wasn't exceptional in flavour, but enjoyable. We also had the pain brioché, with pork belly, pineapple, and sweet and sour sauce. This one was a winner! Service here is great, and the open-concept kitchen lets you see the cooks in action. We'd go back to try the dinner menu!"

  • "Meh. The food sounded exciting, but wasnt very flavourful. We were there for brunch, and although what I ordered was called 'pulled pork', what I got was pork medallions. It was too bad because I wouldn't have chosen that if I'd known. The portions were small, which if the food had been amazing wouldn't have bothered me. The wait staff was overwhelmed, and a bit brusk, but not too bad. The ambiance was awesome, so I really wanted to like the place. Due to the poor food, it just fell flat. On a brighter note, they have great coffee and mimosas! Overall we left disappointed, but not upset."

  • "Une carte courte, comme tout bon bistro...et c'était vraiment un bon bistro. Les portions sont copieuses et goûteuses, ce qui nous empêche de les trouver coûteuses. Parmi nos choix le burger au porc effiloché et ses excellentes frites (au gras de canard). Très bon. Le colin tout comme la mitonnée de lapin de Stanstead était servi dans une assiette profonde, en fait un bol,qui lui permettait de trôner au dessus de la mêlée de ses légumes. Quant aux desserts, la tarte meringuée au citron était fort honorable mais c'est le pain perdu au caramel à la fleur de sel nous a tous laissé en pâmoison. Pour les allergiques aux noix (ou d'ailleurs pour les afficionados): tous les plats qui en.contiennent sont identifiés par une étoile sur le menu."

  • "Truly enjoyed the set up (tables surrounding the kitchen) and the food was outstanding. Great tartare (the 3 couteaux plate was delightful). One slight drawback; tables are a little small, but the hangers on the wall proved to be quite helpful. Will be going back, it's worth it."

  • "Ambiance intéressante avec la cuisine à aire ouverte au centre de la pièce, par contre trop éclairé et bistro pour être romantique. Excellente carte des vins avec importations privées. En entrée le foie gras au torchon était délicieux mais servi sur un cake au goût trop prononcé qui camouflait celui plus fin du foie gras. Au plat principal, le lapin du plat du jour était très goûteux mais l'épaule de porc trop grasse et trop rosée à mon goût. Au dessert, verrine de marrons confits qui étaient submergés de crème fraîche. Ça ne goûtait que la crème. Somme toute, bouffe correcte, mais avec un service et une carte des vins impecc. J'y retournerais."

  • "How wonderful to sit around the kitchen, which is in the middle of the dining room! Because we were eating early, they tried to seat us in the window, probably to be seen from the passersby. However, since it was so cold outside, we asked to sit along the wall near the cooking. And thanks for accomodating us! IT was a superb experience watching the chefs create, and being toasty warm, and eating such delightful food! the Frois Gras and Veal chef's specials were fantab! As well as the beet salad. Very attentive staff as well."

Ayant eu une expérience plus ou moins heureuse dans un autre resto l'année précédente, je croisais mes doigts pour que mon choix soit meilleur cette année. Et mon voeux a été exhaussé! Quel souper fabuleux. Tout était parfait! En entrée, nous avons partagé la grande salade betterave/framboises/noisettes. Quel bel équilibre de saveurs et de textures. Un début prometteur. Mon conjoint a choisi le contre-filet dont il s'est délecté. J'ai pris le mitonné de lapin... OMG! vraiment, encore une fois un mariage de saveurs vraiment original et savoureux. Nous n'avons pas pu nous empêché de goûter les frites cuites dans le gras de canard... et nous avons bien fait!"

  • "There were not many people in the restaurant. The food was so so... I had the salmon tartar as an appetizer which was lacking of taste... Then I had the beef fondant as the main meal and it was good except that when you eat it.. Some parts of the beed was really spicy and some other parts not.. Service was good. The ladies were very nice"

The salmon and the braised beef and beet salad were excellent though. Would definitely come back again. They give you cotton candy instead of mint candies!"

  • "malheureusement l'expérience n'a pas été aussi convaincante que d'habitude. 1) on nous a ignorés à notre arrivée... nous avons attendu 5 bonnes minutes avant que quelqu'un vienne nous installer. 2)deux personnes qui avaient commandé "le toast" n'ont pas eu l'accompagnement indiqué sur la carte (des frites au gras de canard... on leur a servi du taboulet à la place). 3) les cuisines ont été plutôt intransigeantes quant à l'adaptation du menu (je voulais des pancakes avec pommes et cheddar mais ce plat contenait un oeuf mollet, alors que je ne peux manger d'oeufs pas cuits... et il n'a pas été possible d'adapter le plat). 4) la musique était extrêmement forte. ce que nous avons mangé était néanmoins très bon... et nous y retournerons."

  • "Just a great time was had. For 7 people it was simply awesome to be in the back on the big table. Portions are a little big but we had been warned- we simply ignored the warnings at our peril. Wine list is decent if eclectic and desserts were supremely yummy. Go for the beef tartare and green been salad if you can. We're all going back, and soon."

  • "This was our second time here, the first being during montreal a la table. We had a good meal then, this time not so much. The service was mediocre (took about 30 minutes before ordering amongst other things). The menu is somewhat misleading, we were surprised when we received our entrées. We ordered 25cl of wine, we basically got a bottle of wine which we were told had that amount left. Finally, our dessert had a piece of iron (used to scrub the pans) in it. Sad since the pain perdu is quite good. Basically, had this of been our first experience we would not of went back. Now we aren't."

  • "I went for valentine's day with my girlfriend and we took a 45$ bottle of wine. The bill was for 180$ and we ate really well. Only dissapointment was that we were not reminded that desert was included and so we just paid the bill and forgot about it. The waiter should have at least reminded us but we were only 4 left in the restaurant and it felt like they wanted to close nice and quick. Food was excellent though but price was fair to even a little expensive for the portions. I would not recommend for dinners, but would definitely 100% for brunches. 10 for brunches and 6.5 for dinners."
