La Cremaillere Restaurant
Excellent food - not so romanticWent for a 25-yr anniversary dinner - 1st time at La Cremaillere. The food was amazingly good...Typically French small portions, but rich food without being heavy...subtly delicious. The service was typically high-key. The wine list was complete and seemed to have something for everyone. The only problem was that the room was too loud to be romantic. In spite of sitting side-by-side, we found ourselves listening to other table's conversations - even people on the entire other side of the room. We were sitting under an air conditioner that started and stopped throughout dinner...it was surprisingly loud.
All told, it was a nice evening of great food...Could it have been better? Yes...Would I choose it again? Maybe not. But others might.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMQuite simply, the bestLa Cremaillere is the place to dine when nothing less than the best will do. Host/owner Robert Meyzen comes from a distinguished restaurant family and it shows. An impeccable experience. We dine here as often as we can and this time we put ourselves in Robert's hands--we didn't even look at a menu. Every course was a revelation and, as always, served with a combination of classic professionalism and good cheer that is the hallmark of the La Cremaillere team. Just go. You'll thank us.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently ExcellentOnce again we were celebrating a special occasion and everything was five star.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecialMost enjoyable visit, food outstanding, service particularly good.........it gets our best recommendation.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Great little place for our 15th anniversary - food and service were wonderful.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent French restaurantnice to have such an excellent French restaurant in the area, without having to go to NYC.! this was exactly the experience you'd expect from a fine French restaurant. Zim5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent -- but EXPENSIVE!I was looking for a special occasion resto for the husband's birthday. We were visiting from out of town and I decided on this after looking at food reviews and seeing that it had an OpenTable $$$ designation in term of pricing. While it was outstanding in terms of food, it was much more expensive than I thought it would be because many of the courses were priced at what would be considered entree pricing in most better-than-average restaurants.
Food, however, was excellent -- duck and roasted filet of beef were perfect. Mushroom soup appetizer was memorable. Sommelier was right on with guiding me to an entree wine choice suitable for both beef and duck. Beyond his service, the service was less than would be expected. But, DH loved it!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOoo la la!We absolutely loved this charming restaurant for its top class food, good portions, fair prices and outstanding service. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with a very "Frenchy" warm feeling. The staff made you feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. Tables were spaced well so that the noise level was at a respectable level. We enjoyed several wonderful gourmet "gifts" offered from the chef during the course of our meal, as well as the freshly baked round bread loaf and homemade butter from the onset. Enough cannot be said abut this place. We will without a doubt return for another elegant excellent dining experience.
La Cremaillere is a very special restaurant!!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe fly in the ointmentAs usual, the experience was superb. The food was terrific ( despite it being Mother's Day) and the room was not totally booked so noise was minimal
However when we had finished our meal, we waited more than thirty minutes for the check ( despite three requests ) to arrive.
Nevertheless, we will be returning to La Cremaillere.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMYou won't be disappointed...Delicious food, excellent service, made my fathers Birthday one to remember!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of the prettiestThis is one of the prettiest restaurants in Westchester county. Groupon: was a fabulous deal 50% for very high-end restaurant. It was my birthday. Next tables were 2 young couples both celebrating anniversaries.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is very good; well preparedFood is very good; well prepared and with good portion size. Wine list is very extensive for French wines, plus a few Californians. Restaurant decoration is becoming a little tired, and could do with an update (especially curtains, tablecloths; the wall frescos are attractive and should be retained).4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!!We were there on a Saturday night for a romantic special occasion. This time we dined with another couple for lunch and the experience was totally enjoyable. The Prix-fix menu contained numerous interesting items fit for any taste. My lobster bisque was unique as was the selection of chicken, steak and lamb dishes that we ordered. The deserts were exquisite, each supported by the most delicious French ice-cream and sweet syrup. Our dining experience complemented by the splendor of a beautiful Provence style home decorated throughout with fresh flowers. La Cremaillere is a wonderful place to dine---a must for all.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I have beenMy husband and I have been going to La Cremaillere for years. Although this restaurant is a bit out of the way, the trip is well worth it. The food was cooked to perfection, and excellently presented. The wine list was not intimidating and "affordable." The servers were attentive without being intrusive or obsequious. The restaurant is elegant, but not stuffy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves French food and/or wants a romantic dinner or is celebrating a special occasion. I can't wait to return!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful place, great foodWonderful place, great food and service. The food, service and ambiance was outstanding. Most restaurants want to rush you during a holiday season, but not LeCremallier. We had a very special Easter dinner.

with excellent fresh cuisine.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took advantage of goingWe took advantage of going to a really nice restaurant during restaurant week when the prices are much more reasonable. If they would continue something similar on an ongoing basis we would be regulars.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I enjoyed aMy husband and I enjoyed a nice romantic birthday dinner during the Hudson River Valley Restaurant Week and enjoyed a delicious price fixed menu. They even put a nice simple candle in my husbands desert.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, La Cremalliere wasAs usual, La Cremalliere was a wonderful treat. I booked it through Open Table to enjoy during Restaurant Week in Westchester. Unfortunately, no one happened to mention that, even though Restaurant Week went through Sunday, Saturday night was excluded as one of the nights. We invited friends and when we sat down and asked for the restaurant week menu, we were told it was not available. Supposedly, they tell you this when you book directly through the restaurant. Because I went through Open Table, no one told us this. I always enjoy this restaurant, and so did our friends, however, it is usually a place that we reserve for special occasions. It is quite "pricey" so we were looking forward to taking advantage of it on Restaurant Week.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicate delight-Loved the one to one attention.
I believe the restaurant would lend itself for a Breast Cancer survivor celebration.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe all loved it! We wereWe all loved it! We were so glad to be back at La Cremaillere and hope they will be on the Hudson Valley Restaurant List again next year.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOld school french diningWe went for lunch, and didn't realize before we made the reservation that it was Restaurant Week. So I can't speak for dinner or the full menu in general... but all of the dishes we selected from the limited menu were delicious and very attentively prepared. It's also rare to find a restaurant that still goes through the ceremony of lifting the cloches and unveiling the dishes at the table simultaneously (even for lunch) -- definitely adds a special touch to the dining experience.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousMy wife and I enjoyed our experience. The food was amazing and the service, impeccable. I highly recommend the skate.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMcharming and deliciousClassy place from start to finish. The warm bread was spectacular and the dinner that followed (restaurant week menu) did not disappoint. The service was amazing right down to the friendly valet. Food comes out under silver covers, then they present it all at once!
Really a romantic and charming restaurant with great food.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA hidden gem!I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at La Cremaillere in Bedford. I was particularly impressed by the French country style ambiance, the very attentive service, the attention to detail, and the excellent food. The dining room was nicely decorated with soft lighting, as well as having fresh flowers and a lit candle at each table. The food and service were both exceptional! For a truly memorable meal, you cannot do much better in Westchester County than this wonderful establishment. Definitely recommended for a romantic night out.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the food and ambiance.Enjoyed the food and ambiance. found the waiters in suits a little stiff.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent overall experience...foodexcellent overall experience...food was outstanding...reasonable portions3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAhh, La Cremaillere!!!!!Ahh, La Cremaillere!!!!! Just the MOST gracious restaurant in the world. Everything about this place is more than first rate, starting with the whole loaf of warm, freshly baked bread, and extending through the melt-in-your mouth bread pudding. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere warm and romantic. If you want a memorable food experience while feeling deliciously pampered, this is the place to be. It may be pricey but well worth it.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall dinning experienceOverall dinning experience was fantastic. WeExcellent in all areas. We were met at the door by the host, were seated at a nice table,
service was good and not hovering, food was delicious. The Grand Marnier with sauce was the
best I ever tasted. Can't wait to go back, but it is for a special occasion. A little pricey.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI've said it before, thisI've said it before, this restaurant does everything right!3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfection: Can't Wait to Return. The experience was perfect in every way.
From the moment we arrived ( even the valet was polite and helpful) we were treated as guests who have been coming for years.
The restaurant is beautiful and elegant without pretension. The flowers were fresh (as opposed to yesyerday"s)and table arrangements lovely. The napery was of excellent quality as was the china and flatware and table setting( actually correct).
Our head waiter as well as the entire wait staff were attentive to our every need without being overbearing.
The food was divine! Seared fois gras, garden fresh salad, poached halibut in beurre blanc, and venison perfectly done. Each dish was beautifully presentd.
Desserts lovely. Petits Four and espresso comleted gorgeous dinner.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMfood could have been betterfood could have been better ie flavor desert was great had agroupon may have beent he reason though2/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but....While food and service were very good, wine was cold (cellar temp quiet low) for the entire meal. Crowd was ancient and overall appearance of restaurant was dated. I understand it is a classic and unique dining experience, but it seems they have failed to stay relevant by not adapting to how people dine these days. I go to places like Bernards (Ridgefield) and Le Chateau (South Salem), and they have invigorated their business by adding more vibrant and casual dining areas, live music and special events. It's clear they have a loyal but diminishing clientele, but it also seems thy have missed the mark with respect to cultivating a new generation of customers.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had the tasting menu fromwe had the tasting menu from groupon and even though the service and atmosphere were great , the food was fine but a bit bland. We have had much better food at other french restaurants in Westchester.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for special occasions.Great for special occasions. A nice country environment and romantic, though a little dated, decor. Depending on your mood; can be stuffy for some individuals. Service was excellent. However, food quality was not very consistent; some dishes were outstanding but others were a little too salty.2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways PerfectLa Cremaillere is in a league of its own. Exquisite food. Beautiful atmosphere. Classic French Service minus the attitude. When it has to be perfect, look no further.10/10/2012 12:00:00 AMThe entire dining experienceThe entire dining experience for my family was superb and certainly more that we expected. We'll be back.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PMBeyond expectations! This was our first visit to this fine restaurant. The dining area had low ceilings, so it was intimate and quiet, which we love. We visited during restaurant week and the menu offered a nice selection. The service was attentive, yet did not hover and our waiter was knowlegable and happy to answer our questions. The French food was "current" without being too trendy and the portions were moderate. We will return as a date night or with friends!1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
