Many of the luncheon menu entrée selections included mushrooms; my wife is allergic to mushrooms. The chef on duty was able to accommodate for one of the dishes as the mushrooms were in the sauce. We preferred the former luncheon menu - new chef new menu !!! - different price - dessert and beverage are now «à la carte». Wine by the glass - limited selection -4 oz serving !!!

We went there to try out their new menu with new culinary team. It was a great experience beyond expected. All dishes are well executed with plenty of flavor. The highlight of the meal is the dessert. We ordered the Apple Tatin Pie and we were so impress by its beautiful presentation. Slices of apple cooked in sirop placed on a puff pastry and baked to perfection then topped with vanilla ice-cream and decorated with crafted strawberries and figs. A must try!!

We have eaten at La Coupole on several occasions as they usually have a special fixed menu that get's you to the Bell Center on time for the hockey game. I was very disappointed this time as I was given a choice of two times, 3:15 and 5:00pm. The 3:15 time was a littkle early for me but I opted for it as the 5pm time would have been too late to get to a 6pm game. After showing up at the restaurnat for our confirmed reservation we were told the kitchen did not open until 4pm, this meant wasting our time waiting around for 45 minutes The reservation was confirmed so I have no idea why this happened but it did put a damper on the whole experience. There were no apologies offered.

From the onset, we should say that the name of the restaurant 'Brasserie la Coupole' was setting the bar really high and that the experience was a huge disappointment. No resemblance at all with the Paris famous 'La Coupole' on boulevard de Montparnasse. The menu is not elaborate like a typical French brasserie for sure. We made reservations a few days ahead and nobody bothered to tell us the first floor would be 100% occupied by a large group which made the 2nd floor very noisy and service really poor. Food average, wine$$$$, my wife's foie gras, a real disappointment. The Maître D ignored her when she waived for help while he was looking at her! We just moved in the neighborhood in a new condo tower and I guess next time we will pass...

We had planned a birthday supper, just a few people, for my daughter who is quite a gastronomic connoisseur. The word got around and we ended up having a family reunion (12 of us from all over Quebec & Ontario) at the restaurant. We had a small room on the second floor and it was perfect. Actually, the service and the food quality were also perfect. All the tasty dishes were perfectly timed and nobody had to wait to dive in the delicious dishes so well prepared and presented. All agreed that it was a wonderful meal but as far as the Ottawa crowd was concerned, the only problem is the fact that this restaurant is not in Ottawa as we can hardly wait to go back.... We are already planning our next visit to Montreal to go back to La Coupole!!!

Extremely noisy when we arrived but eventually quietened down. Much confusion with the servers bringing items that were ordered by the people at the table next to us and vice-versa. My husband ordered an aperitif and it was delivered at the same time as his soup which was most annoying. Prior to that a server had arrived with a glass of Merlot which had not been ordered by us.

I found the food, service and ambiance all a cut above. The dining area is very attractive with the huge "crystal" chandelier sweeping down from the second floor to the mezzanine. The new signature martini, the Louboutin was exotic and delicious. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. And the food on the menu prepared special for the Montreal a table was all delicious and ample . We will definitely be returning.

Although I've heard great things about the food at La Coupole and I've also dined there quite a few times, their TasteMTL meal was quite disappointing (esp the main dishes where the fish and chicken were overcooked). You would think they would take this as an opportunity to market their restaurant so people trying it out tell their friends and keep coming back. But for someone who has eaten there already I can say that the service was as bad as it usually is but the food took a hit this time too. Too bad!

Food was good for a hotel. Our party consisted of 2 local executive chefs & 2 others who have eaten at many restaurants across North America. La Coupole was nice. Service was borderline awful. Maitre D came around often to pour wine & water which is nice. Waiter took half our group's drink order then left....came back with 2 drinks then took the other couples drink order. hmm... Took FOREVER between courses, took an eternity to offer dessert by which time (40 min after dinner plates had been cleared) we just wanted to leave. Three hours for appetizer & main is a VERY long time. No time for dessert. Martinis are delicious, wine list nice & extensive. Delicious appetizers. Plate presentation very nice. Would go back despite the slow service.

I am a regular client of this fine restaurant where the food is always great and they vary the lunch menu every day, which is exceptional. The service is always excellent and when the summer is there, the terrasse is absolutely incredible. For the first time ever though, this week, on the evening menu, they were offering a veal that looks incredible. When I received my plate, it looked very inviting but unfortunately, it was so hard that it was an exercise to eat it. My guest who had the same choice felt the same way. Thank God, it was the first time it happened to me. I will be bqack anyway!

We decided to try La Coupole for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed. Tuesday and Wednesday are $5 cocktail days so my daughter and I had the white Sangria- refreshing and light.. The table d'hote was a decent price and had a variety of dishes so three out of the four people in our party ordered a different main course from the selection (duck, steak and arctic char). I ordered the salmon a la carte. All of the appetizers (shrimp plate, caprese salad) and main course selections were decent portions and prepared beautifully. The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. The food was, in a word, delicious. We were 3 generations with different tastes but we were all pleased (quite a feat!). Parking is an issue.

We reserved at La Coupole because it was walking distance to the Bell Center. They had a nice all included table d'hote for event nights. Nice choice and meal was good. Since we were in a hurry I would have also liked a A la carte menu which they don't have on event nights. In addition the service could have been better, she was too busy and we did not receive good service. The restaurant is beautiful, well situated and the food is good. In addition they have valet parking which was definitely a plus for that night! If its an event night, make sure you arrive early.
