We recently visited La Cita again
and were as impressed as we were with our previous visits. There are only a few tables, so it can seem a bit "cozy" and without a reservation, you may have to wait a bit for a table, but its worth the wait. Excellent food, super service, and its a BYOB. need I say more? If you are a tequila fan, bring your favorite bottle and La Cita will supply the Margarita mix. enjoy. TG 3/10"

I went there with 3 friends for a
late lunch. It's a very small restaurant but they delivered in a big way on the food! It's authentic Mexican and it beats the chains hands down. All four of us had one of the specials and the food was fabulous. Even the nachos that we started with were not your typical chips with meat and cheese. These were many steps above! Our waitress was really nice and a great server. We made a reservation for lunch which we didn't need, but I'm sure you would need one for dinner. Great food, great service and very clean."

I really enjoy the food at La
Cita. Will be back again!!"

if you're looking for AUTHENTIC
Mexican food - this is your place! From appetizers to dessert, no one in my party of seven was disappointed. The waitress knew the menu and the kitchen was willing to change a few items for someone who LOVES spicy foods."

Food was ok but a little bland for
our taste good quality nice people just ot for us."

La CIta is a good option for
reliable, basic Mexican food prepared with fresh ingredients and served without fanfare. We like that the kitchen prepares its meals without smothering everything in cheese. The guacamole is worth a try. Prices are very reasonable with entrees in the 14-18 range. We return here regularly whenever we are in the mood for Mexican. It's a BYOB or BYOT, depending on your mood!"

Our reservation was for 7 but our
table wasn't ready till 7:30. Food and service was great."
Dined on 1/24/2014
The food was very good and so wad
the service. But the noise level was so loud you thought the you were on a run way at an airport Best to go Wednesday or Thursday"

Great tacos and burritos. Mole was
ok. Food was fresh and good"
Dined on 12/29/2013
Always great food and great
service. My wife and I split the house special appetizer and a shrimp molcajete. Plenty to eat and a great sampler of items on the menu. I have ordered mole poblano in the past and it was excellent. I would love it if the owners could add some Yucatecan food to the menu. Excuse me for shameless lobbying but cochinita pebil, panuchos and salbutes sure would make excellent additions to the menu."

We really enjoyed our meal at La
Cita. Group of six, ordered multiple appetizers, all authentic and delicious. Mole was a highlight. Good service. Will be back"

Joined another couple who
discovered La Cita several weeks ago. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a Saturday night and even though it was busy, the service was excellent. The large portions were fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. Did read a complaint that the restaurant was too cold. It's a small, intimate space so when the door opens you do feel a chill, if you like good authentic Mexican food in a friendly atmosphere this is the place for you."

The Pollo en Pipian with its
delicious pepita sauce is recommended, though more vegetables with the dish would be desirable. The staff was quite friendly and the service was prompt. For excellent quality food and great service, the cost was quite reasonable."

My wife and I made reservations
through open table for 6:15 on a Saturday night however were not needed. La Cita has about 10 tables that seat four so I would not suggest going with a large group. The food was on par or better than other local Mexican food favorites such as tortilla press, don Pablo, on the border. I would highly recommend the molcajetes which is served in a hot lava rock and was absolutely delicious. This is a BYOB place so our bill only included our two entrees and was $35.00 for a party of two. We had no issues with slow service as other reviewers have stated. For a Saturday night everything was served promptly and at no time felt service was slow. We will definitely be back"

Convenient Mexican joint with
authentic Mexican food. Service a bit slow, but if you're in no hurry enjoy the food! Friendly staff."

Good authentic Mexican food when
you are in the mood to get away from the chains. Service was fast."
Dined on 10/27/2013
This is a small BYOB that produces
consistently good food. If you like Mexican, you should give it a try. It is homestyle, nothing overly fancy or exotic, just fresh and good basic Mexican standards - that most Mexican restaurants don't get right!"

What a great experience! We had
real authentic Mexican food. I highly recommend the hot lava bowl with shrimp- it had jumbo shrimp in a savory sauce bubbling with flavor. Side dishes were delicious also. My husband's fajitas were yummy also. Would definitely return soon."

Went with wife and teenage son.
Seated at one of 8 tables after brief wait. Had reservations, not sure they matter. Place was moderately busy. Tables not jammed together, decor bright and uncluttered. Mexican sodas w tropical flavors were good. Salads fresh, not chilled. Appetizer sampler platter ok, guacamole, pico de gallo, mole sauce fresh and flavorful. Jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon, and ribeye steak entres were standouts, well prepared. Tacos were not, pork and sausage fillings dry. Tequila ice cream not worth it, flan good, not great, tres leches cake another standout. All portions ample. Food interesting. Service friendly and competent. Some waiting for each order. Unhurried. Moderately priced. Unanimous thumbs up. We will be back."

If you want authentic Mexican
food, this little place in cherry hill is the place to go. How authentic? When everyone else dining appears to be Hispanic, you know this place must serve real down home food. I had a dish that had chicken, steak and shrimp served in a hot hot hot lava bowl with flavorful tomato sauce and cheese. This was served with home made corn tortillas and black beans, rice and guac on the side. My wife had a shrimp dish that was spicy!!!!! She loved it. The shrimp, steak and chicken were all cooked perfectly. We look forward to going back again!"

The food here is very authentic
and delicious. Their horchata is some of the best I have had. The food takes a little time to come out, but it is always worth it."

A fantastic time at an authentic
Mexican Restaurant in Cherry Hill. Loved everything."

La Cita is a Mexican food treasure
right in our own Cherry Hill backyard. I had driven by it several times but never considered eating there, despite my affinity for Mexican food. That turned out to be a big mistake once I found out how great it is when I had dinner there with friends Saturday night. The service was terrific and the food delicious. Hearing that it was our first time there, our server made some great recommendations and answered many questions. We all had different varieties of the mojachetes after gorging ourselves on an appetizer sampler platter. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We will definitely be back!"

Small BYOB restaurant. Very
Casual. The staff was friendly and the service was good. Menu had a nice selection of traditional Mexican entrees. The Molcajete and Shrimp Diabla we both very tasty. They offered a small selection of Mexican Sodas in addition to the usual selection which is nice. If you are looking for a casual spot to have Mexican food then this place fits the bill. We will return."

When we visited it was a busy
Sunday and the staff seemed rushed and preoccupied. Food was good. I had a basic chicken burrito and it was just basic, not bad just basic. I do not recall what my wife ordered but the staff was particular to ask about the spice heat level she preferred as hot can be too spicy for many. Overall our experience as good, staff was wonderful and plesent but would like to try again and maybe ask for menu recommendations."

Best Mexican restaurant that we
have encountered to date. Food was exceptional, restaurant staff was delightful and helpful! We can't wait for a return visit to try other entrees. The desserts were wonderful-especially the chocolate cheesecake"

my cousin, who was with me,is the
mexican food expert. she states the food has the same flavor, appearence and smell that her neighbors, who were mexican, prepared in their kitchen when she lived in california. the food was made for your pallet. server was sure to ask if you wanted food spicy or mild. server was knowledgable of preparation and ingredients. ambience was of a neighborhood resturant."

Great authentic Mexican food! Food
was freshly prepared. The queso fondido was delicious as was our dinners and tequila ice cream for dessert. Service was fast & friendly! Will definitely return!"

La Cita is a small cafe located on
Route 70 in the Erlton Section of Cherry Hill. A parking lot right next door makes it easy to visit. The decor is cheerful with bright colors on the walls and festive contemporary Mexican music playing throughout the dining room. I give special kudos for the ultra-clean flatware on the table; it was the cleanest restaurant ware I've seen in years. The menu has the usual offerings (tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, etc) and our entrees were delicious albeit spicy. Tortilla chips are homemade, as are the Horchatas (both excellent, by the way). Prices are average for the area. Our dinner for two including beverages and a guacamole appetizer was $30. Worth mentioning: this restaurant is BYOB. We'll be back!"

I am a Mexican American who by
culture knows the Mexican food very well. Usually when I go to Mexican resturaunts I find only one or two things that are worthy of being called " Authentic Mexican food". At La Cita, I found everything on their menu to be worthy of that name. Prices were unbelievable (cheap). Service was good, especially due to their over packing of the resturaunt. Which leads me to the only two things I saw wrong here. This place is tiny and if you go on a hot and busy day, you will not feel the air conditioner. I don't blame them for being tiny, I think what happen is that they were expecting to be a small resturaunt that might struggle. Instead their making it big and soon I think they will expand! Either way you must go!"

Mexican.....guacamole was decent, not outstanding....vegetables could have been better a little oily (flavorless vegetable oil) and under-seasoned. Chips & salsa were tasty. Mole was good, but not amazing."
Dined on 7/11/2013
The food at La Cita was
exceptional; the nacho appetizer was really tasty, and my shrimp & grilled veggie fajita entree was delicious. Two problems: Service was frienly bu a little slow. We got there at 6 and didn't get out until after 7, causing us to miss our movie. I expected the service at a place as small as this to be quicker. The other issue was the AC, or rather lack of it. It was a rather hot day, and it was pretty warm inside. I'm not usually affected by that (my wife is), but even I was uncomfortably warm. It started to cool down just as we were leaving. Not sure if they turned the AC down or if it got cooler as some people finished and left. Neither issue is enough to prevent me from going back, as the food was great!"

Decent, if slightly pricey, BYOB.
Service challenges -- slow, somewhat inattentive, and you have to ask for things like napkins and water repeatedly. Food was good, but not exceptional. Nice use of spices, they're not afraid to make it hot... but overall, flavor somewhat lacking. Apps were better than entrees."

First time here. It was pretty
good stuff. We had the Queso Fundido as an appetizer. That was really good. The Carne Asada and Fiesta Mexicana were our main courses. Both very good although my beans came out cold. We tried their Tres Leches for dessert. Much different than I'd ever had it, but it was very tasty. Fresh fuit in the middle of it. I reluctantly click the kid-friendly tag. It's not what I am looking for, but at least half of the limited tables had kids present. Made for a loud atmosphere. Not sure how often that happens. My guess is it being up against a neighborhood probably draws those families quite often."

Small and lovely place. The food
is all fresh ingredients and the most traditional Mexican food I have found in this area. The great thing for me is that they are two blocks from where I live!! Will let my friends and family know what a great place this is!!"

Delicious tortilla soup, great
house salad (and dressing), my hubby had a tasty (and well-prepared) steak. Rice and refried beans were very good. Good nachos. Server / owner Olivia? was absolutely welcoming and paid close attention to detail. We plan on making this a regular!"

LaCita is a small (10 tables)
neighborhood restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food. We visited on their busiest night since they have been open, and the service was a little slow, but our server did continue to check on us, and give us updates on how the meal prep was coming along. Our meal began with a selection of Mexican soft drinks. We tried the guacamole, and it was exceedingly fresh and very tasty. I had the Pollo Encanto, which I highly recommend -- grilled chicken breasts served over grilled vegetables with a topping of refried beans, cheese and Tomatillo salsa -- Delish! My companion had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas which came with excellent and very authentic mole sauce. We will definitely be returning."
