A word from La Cave - Wynn Las Vegas
Don't call it a wine bar. At least proprietor Michael Morton, of the famous Morton restaurant family, prefers not to describe his unique La Cave concept in such limited terms. With its tempting small plates menu, stylish surroundings and well rounded beer and spirits selection, La Cave is about more than simply good wine. This cozy Wynn hideaway is a wonderland of coved ceilings, wrought iron, polished woods and glass panels. Chef Bill DeMarco, a protégé of chef Charlie Palmer, crafts a beguiling menu of flatbreads, tapas-like small plates, grilled meats and platters of charcuterie and gourmet cheese - each meant to be a perfect pairing to one of La Cave's many wines. With its sexy and fun vibe, this cave devoted to vino-pleasures comes replete with an outdoor dining terrace overlooking landscaped gardens and pools. Morton sums it up best, "I want people to leave feeling as though they just went to the best dinner party. Great food, great wine, great music, great friends"Continued

  • "So many good restaurants in LV, skip this one. Was our second visit, but it missed the mark- staff was not knowledgeable about the cheese offerings. Unbalanced service- we'd have 3 servers stop by within 2 minutes, then no one for 15/20 minutes. Food was served before first round of drinks!"

  • "We visited La Cave in July 2014 and had another outstanding experience. We love the variety of the small plates and wine flights. On this visit, we asked to be seated in the outdoor area overlooking the gardens. It is a magical spot! We have eaten inside in colder weather and really like the outdoor patio. The lights and setting sun make that area very dreamy. Our small plates this time were a starter salad with goat cheese and a creamy dressing on bibb lettuce. We followed this with a plate of little filets that were perfectly cooked, and then rounded out the evening with thai chicken flatbread that was spicy in all the right ways. The service is impeccable and they have managed to hire an entire staff of size 0 wearing models!"

  • "Although the food was good, the prices were very high for the portion sizes. I would recommend a flat bread pizza. The service was OK. We would not return to this restaurant."

  • "I really enjoyed this place for Sunday brunch. Sat on the patio, even on a scorching hot day it was kept cool with air conditioning but you could feel the warm breezes, looked out over the pool area, very pretty. Food was passed around butler style and you could order anything off the menu at any time. The only negative was there are no drinks included with your pricey $48 charge for the brunch. You can Oder certain brunch time drinks for $20 all you can drink. All and all the food was great and the ambiance wonderful. Would love to try for an evening of wine and apps, very cool inside."

  • "Fantastic room! Great for a group and romantic for a couple. Food and wine pairing are excellent. Top notch staff to match the food coming out of the kitchen."

  • "I was not expecting the type of food at this restaurant. They are not entree type dishes, but more like tapas. The two of us ordered 4 dishes and I was comfortably full. If you are really hungry, this might not be the right choice for you. The service was great. It is very dark inside and no flashlight was offered to see the menu. I used the light of my cell phone. With so many restaurant choices, I probably will not go back."

  • "Loved that we could order 4-5 items and split everything. The menu, portions & price was just right. Our server was very knowledgable and personable. Would definitely go back. The Shrimp Ceviche & Diver Sea Scallops were our 2 favorites."

  • "La Cave specializes in "American small plates" which really is tapas converted into for light or heavy meal. Waitress will tell you 2-3 plates per person, but it's probably more like 1.5 for light meal and 2 for a dinner portion. Convenient spot for an early meal before a Vegas show. Options for pool view, covered patio or inside dining. Mix of seating types (tables, couches, bucket chairs, some of which looked uncomfortable) so ask hostess for one that works best for your party (and your back)."

  • "I booked a reservation for this restaurant to take my wife to while we were in Las Vegas to celebrate her birthday. Not being from Vegas I did quite of bit of research on the menu & read many reviews to make sure she was not disappointed. My wife is very particular about her food & we both are particular about customer service. She/we were not disappointed. We tested their customer service right away (not intentionally) when our first table that we were seated at was not the kind of ambiance my wife was looking for. I asked one the hostesses of we could move to a different part of the restaurant that was more intimate. We were immediately accommodated, not once but twice. Our server was great. the food fantastic & my wife was very happy."

  • "Loved our visit here. This was our first experience for dinner. Much different than lunch but equally enjoyable. When we first arrived, the hostess tried to seat at us at the first seat in the restaurant which might as well have been in the hall of the hotel. This was somewhat surprising since our reservations were made over a week before arrival. They quickly moved us to a table more "into" the restaurant...only had to wait about 15 min which was fine with us. Definitely will come back..."

  • "The food here is absolutely tremendous - one of the best meals I have ever eaten! I will remember the taste experience for many years to come. It was also lots of fun sharing a multitude of plates with my friends. We could not figure out which one was the best; we kept changing our minds. Service is also impeccable. The only complaint was the noise level - lots of raised voices to maintain a conversation. Even so, this place was wonderful!"

  • "This restaurant displays the great service typical of the Wynn brand. The food is presented in tapas style which makes sharing easy, fun and enjoy more variety. Highlights were the shrimp scampi, the best mushrooms and grits ever, the lollipop lamb chops and three hean salad."

  • "Great food and service, everything was delicious and came out very fast. Affordable for the great food that you get! Wine a bit pricey, patio is awesome overlooking the Wynn pools."

  • "PERFECTION!!! This place was REALLY GOOD!! We went for an early lunch. The place is beautiful, we had great champagne, great wine (tried 3 different kinds) and the tapas were incredible!!!!! Tasty, beautiful and made to order. Everything we ordered was amazing!!! It was our 15th anniversary trip and we made a note on our reservation, when the server came with the bill he also brought a special plate with an anniv message for us and some dessert. Everything about this place was amazing. The food, the wine list (great for wine conossieurs) and the service. Highly recomended, we had 6 different tapas to share and not one was less good than the other. Great experience."

  • "This is a great restaurant in a terrify location @ Encore. This is what you come to expect from Steve Wynn and his team. An outstanding wine list that covers all tastes, budgets and needs, the quality of the food is nothing less than outstanding. And the service is simply the best. What impressed me the most was our server's timing, she knew exactly when to approach our table to insure all was well and to check if we needed anything else. Need a place where it is sure to impress your guests? Simple solution - get a reservation for La Cave @ Encore..."

  • "We sat in the pretty terrace room with the view of the pool. We loved the thai snapper cerviche and mushroom grits. The beef/blue cheese flatbread and grilled bass were also very good."

  • "We were seated outside on the terrace which was lovely , our server was a lovely girl who looked after us very well making sure our glasses were always refilled with our choice of cocktail , the mimosas lovely , hubby's Bloody Mary deliciously spicey . Over the course of a couple of hours we were tempted by delicious little tapas style tastings .... Fabulous tater tots , eggs Benedict , mushroom grits with truffle oil , French toast ... It goes on and on , all beautifully presented and served with a lovely smile , a great experience , topped off by another cocktail at Parasol Down afterwards!"

  • "For a decent tapas brunch, go someplace else. While a "butler" service brunch seems interesting. its execution was poor. The food was of acceptable quality and taste, but as the servers made rounds of the dining room the "hot" breakfast items turned cold. In addition, many servers either skipped our table with items still on their tray or ran out before they got to us. The order in which the items come out of the kitchen seems haphazard. While we were offered flat-breads and sliders more then a half a dozen times during our brunch, they only came around with the Eggs Benedict dishes twice during the same 90 minute time period. I doubt we would ever go back as the food quality and service did not justify the $48. price."

  • "Billed as a wine bar in a high-end resort, I expected a wide variety of wines by the glass. But the by-the-glass menu was a mile wide and an inch deep. Fancy a Chardonnay--hope you like the ONE they listed. Plenty by the bottle, but just one by the glass. Same for Sauvignon Blanc, etc. There were certainly some interesting choices, but no depth. Our server was not timely. We ordered complicated cocktails, and they did go to the trouble of looking them, but it took 20 minutes. Our server stopped by to apologize for the delay but the bartender was taking his time to make them just right. For other orders he just slops them up? We REALLY enjoyed the food, but we were there for a food and wine experience and Le Cave just didn't measure up."

  • "We have dined at La Cave several times and always find another amazing dish that we haven't tried before...this time it was the black bass. And no meal would be complete without the s'mores flatbread."

  • "The food is tapas style. We had 2 men in our group of 5 and there was plenty to eat with 2 selections per person. The inside is very noisy so I suggest asking to sit on the patio when you make your reservation. Good cocktails and attentive service."

  • "La Cave is a food and wine junkies favorite place to go. They have something like a beer around the world but with wine. The bacon wrapped dates were the best I have ever eaten. The lamb chops perfectly cooked. If you have a chance to eat at La Cave, it is a must."

  • "We chose La Cave because of the interesting menu and seemingly reasonable prices. As it turns out, the food was delicious, but the portions were small plate. As long as you know going in that you'll need 2-3 items to be full, you can budget accordingly and enjoy a great meal."

  • "What a relaxing and beautiful setting to enjoy a great meal. I really liked the smaller plates menu, it gave us the opportunity to try a variety of tasty dishes. The wine list was impressive though we both took advantage of and enjoyed the wine flights. Next time I'm back in Vegas I'll go back to La Cave."

  • "We did the Sunday brunch. The room was mostly empty. Eventually, trays of various small plates were presented. By and large they were not freshly prepared nor nicely presented. We hate buffets, so the notion of small brunch tastes delivered to the table was attractive. Unfortunately, the lack of customers results in the food sitting around loosing both its freshness and visual appeal. "

  • "Went for Sunday Brunch and it was a great experience. Most of the food was outstanding, but a couple of the selections were a little lacking and sometimes came out cold. Only complain I have is that the waiters kept skipping tables with selections so it took a long time to get to certain dishes and some dishes we never saw at all in 90 minutes. But still a great experience."

  • "We have dinner or lunch at La Cave everytime we come to Vegas. The mushroom grits is our favorite. It is a little spendy for lunch especially since we also have drinks but well worth the money."

  • "Went for dinner with a group of 8 people on a Wednesday night. We made reservations the day of, on Open Table, and I made two adjustments to time and size of group which were easily accommodated. We ordered 2-3 plates each, shared, and were happily full. On the whole, the food was neatly presented and very tasty! One of our favorites was the truffled grits with mushrooms. The cerviche and flatbreads were also very good."

  • "This is my 5th time in the past month since discovering this little hideaway and it was another phenomenal dining experience from start to finish! Favs continue to be the smores flat bread, crab lettuce wraps, beef carpaccio .. and the newly discovered Beef Filet with the Crostini and blue cheese. Thanks again!"

  • "My husband and I decided to try La Cave based on a recommendation from a friend. We ordered 5 different small plates to share and each one was delicious. I enjoyed a delightful flight of Italian wines - really interesting selections! We will go again. For sure! "

  • "Second meal at La Cave. Had requested a table outside but did not receive, instead sat at a table for two jammed in between 2 other tables....a little tight for our liking. Disappointed that the menu had changed but overall there was enough choice for most diners. Quite pricey so not for everyone. A large table behind us was noisy and appeared to be receiving a lot more attention than any other diners!"
