Founded on Valentine's day in 1962, La Cave Restaurant has been a Costa Mesa staple ever since. For almost 50 years we have been serving incredibly delicious steaks, fantastic lobster, seafood and cocktails. Consistency has been the key to keep our customers coming back.

"Service was great. Waitress and staff were very attentive and polite. Food was a little salty, but overall great place that I'd recommend people to checkout. The only issue was that the receptionist at La Cave mentioned that when she checked the reservations for that day, she said my opentable rsvp was there and then all of sudden when I called restaurant 1hr before arriving the receptionist checked again and it mysteriously disappeared and she didnt know why. Good thing I called in to re-confirm."

"The food is so-so for how high priced this place is. The steak was decent, the potatoe was stale. Someone in our party got the halibut and was tasteless and bland. Outback would have had better quality control over their food. Someone there is not doing their job properly."

"Once again we had another great evening. We have been going to La Cave for 25 years or so and last night was Linda’s Birthday. Great food and drink. “The Cave” is in a dimly lit cellar. Sure it’s dark, no price menu (unless you ask), meat and seafood under glass shown to you with a flash light. Very friendly staff that been around longer than we have been going. The food is impeccable as well as the service. Good wine list, bar, music and so on…They have been doing it right…Since 1962… Busy place, make reservations! We like it! That’s why we will keep going back."

"Our first visit as we are only summer residents. Kelly was an excellent waitress. We sat in the back room which was quieter and on Tuesdays has a very good jazz saxophonist. It was a birthday night. We wanted a special place and it was that, but would also be good for just a night out for good food. My wife does not do steak, but there were several fish items and she loved the halibut."

"We found this driving around and had a pleasant dinner with a remarkable dessert. No menus they roll out the cart of meat to allow you to select what you want. It is a fun resteraunt and I will be back next time I am in town."
