Diner Reviews
  • "Coconut margarita is the best I have had. And the same goes for the short ribs. Truly a superb dining experience."

  • "Case de Pedro is the perfect summertime dinner spot. Great food and refreshing summery drinks on the patio. Good times."

  • "Unfortunately I had the pork tenderloin medallions and I thought the sauce had no flavor and the meat might have been sitting around awhile based on the meat consistency. The side dishes tasted good although this restaurant is a bit light on healthy vegetables. (Plantains, potatoes, and rice were on the plate with the pork). The other people I was with liked their meals and I was very happy they were able to seat us outside on a beautiful summer night. I have eaten at Pedro's before and remember liking it better but it has been a year or two."

  • "I've been to Casa de Pedro several times. It's honest Venezuelan fare, a bit adjusted to the taste (and ingredients) of New England, but not too far off the original, even according to my Venezuelan friends. So if you are looking for something authentic, or something different, Casa de Pedro may be for you. Beware, however, of service. It starts before you even get there. You must reserve with a credit card. You have a 15 minute grace period for your reservation. Incomplete parties won't be seated. (And if your 15-minutes expire and 1 guest is late, sorry, bye!) Dine in max 2 hours. Waiter have the "make choice, eat fast and begone!" attitude and may occasionally put their finger(s) in your plate while serving. (It happened to us, twice.)"

  • "The tapas was amazing and 6 dishes was more than enough for 3 people. The restaurant was definitely understaffed, but the food made up for it. Unfortunately we had to wait at least 10 minutes from being seated until talking to a waiter."

  • "When you make a reservation at Casa de Pedro, they are ready for you when you get there... with your table inside. Reservations can not be made for outside seating. Outside seating is always first come first serve. That isn't stated when one makes a reservation, so we were very surprised. Because one of the reasons I go to Casa de Pedro is to eat outside when the weather is nice. So we put our name in the queue and waited till an outside table was available. Waited maybe 25 minutes."

  • "We've been here before with friends, and every time its been really good - this time, we sat outdoors on the patio, and it was very pleasant and comfortable and the food was great, even better than usual."

  • "We are return customers to La Casa De Pedro. We have never been disappointed. The Food has been consistently great, with ample portions an attractive presentation. The service has been good with just the right level attention paid to customers. We often introduce friends to this gem of a restaurant. We have always been made to feel welcome."

  • "We stumbled upon La Casa de Pedro 2 years ago while visiting family in the area. We love everything about it - great atmosphere, great service, and the food and drink is wonderful. I feel like I am on vacation eating the best local cuisine every time we are there. We live 3 hours away and have gone back as often as we can. I can't think of another place we would go to that much trouble to visit. Personal favorites: Venezuelan brunch and Pedros mojito. But everything is delicious."

  • "This place is consistently good! On weekends there is a trio band that plays. With the decor and the entertainment, it's a great spot to hang out or celebrate a special occasion. The outdoor seating is a fantastic spot when the weather is nice."

  • "We had the Paella and although I missed having Lobster in it, the taste was delicious, the size was enough for two adults and one child. Plenty of other seafood. The fried Yuca is to die for. You would want an order to eat with your meal and one to take home."

  • "My family and I went to La Casa after my grad school graduation ceremony. The restaurant was moderately energetic when we arrived for lunch that Saturday, and we were seated immediately. The menu suited everyone in our party: vegetarians and those with Celiac disease who needed gluten free food. The cod I had was delicious and perfectly cooked. If you are extremely sensitive to gluten, La Casa is the place to be! They basically asked me what I wanted on the menu and then asked the chef if they could prepare it gluten free. 90% of their menu can be created this way! Now that they have these gluten free options, I will be going back there more often! I live right in the neighborhood and have always loved the restaurant. Try them!"

  • "My family and I went to La Case de Pedro's on Saturday, May 10th in celebration of Mother's Day weekend. We had a reservation for 7:45pm. I am so happy that we were seated right away with no wait (with two small children, this is always helpful). The food came pretty fast after ordering, but my only complaint was that it was a bit salty for our taste. The portions were also a bit on the shabby side for the amount paid. The drinks were on point though! Strong and tasty! Overall great experience, and ambiance. A added bonus was live Salsa music which my kids enjoyed! Please check out La Casa de Pedro if you are in the Brighton/Watertown area. "

  • "Food was good; some very good, some only fair; on balance, good. Wait staff was excellent. Menu was varied enough to satisfy all four of us. We had fun and we will come again."

  • "The food, as always, was excellent. However, the noise was literally unbearable -- conversation was impossible, and we couldn't even hear the description by the waitress of the specials for the day. It was simply too much. Very disappointing."

  • "This is a trip to a good neighborhood in Caracas. The food is authentic, varied, well prepared, and deliciously seasoned. The bar is extensive and complements the menu perfectly. We've been there three times in the last three months and the quality has been consistently outstanding. Hard to say that for many other places in the suburbs. The interior is lush and tropical. A small band plays after 8pm on the weekend. It's packed for a good reason, it's the type of neighborhood restaurant you always wanted in your neighborhood. "

  • "Everytime I go, I get the Pork Osso Buco. The most tender pork anywhere. Wait person was attentive and very personable. Pedro's Old Sidecar is a great cocktail! Flight of Gran Marnier was an outstanding finish to a fantastic dining experience."

  • "I was a fan of this restaurant when it was in a small little nook in Watertown! Now it is a large beautiful booming restaurant with live salsa music and an incredible ambiance. This restaurant is a very special place to my husband and I. Having two small children we hadn't been able to make it out for a few years. Saturday we decided to arrange a sitter and we were so so so excited for our special date night out here. We brought another couple with us and had a wonderful time. The food is even better than I had remembered it being. The ambiance amazing. My husband and I were so happy. My husband is Colombian and he adores the food, the drinks and especially the live music :) It just makes for a perfect setting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

  • "The vibe was great - energetic and busy - and there was live music and dancing by the bar. Service was good - our waiter was attentive - but the food was SUCH a disappointment. The fried yuca were bland and seemed like they had been sitting under a heatlamp awhile. My fish tacos were decent but not anything special, the yellow rice was flavorless. My boyfriend's meal was beef stewed in minced vegetables served with rice and beans - the meat tasted like a bland pot roast and the rice and beans tasted like a canned variety. The margaritas were at least decent. There are much better Spanish or Mexican restaurants in the area that are less flashy but serve up much better meals."

  • "This is the place to go if you want high quality Latin American based food, consistently cooked and beautifully presented. Not fast food tacos thrown together in the kitchen! Reasonable prices. You'll be full but try the flan anyway."
