  • "We are from San Diego, this is our forth visit. It was recommend by a local friend."

  • "we were treated very well and enjoyed the birthday celebration."

  • "Not my first time here. The food seems to get better every time. Definitely try the oven roasted leeks with goat cheese appetizer. Delicious!! Decent wine list and friendly service. Much more crowded train usual; glad we made a reservation as one doesn't seem required usually. There were two large parties going on this particular night, so the space was noisier than what I'm used to."

  • "This was my third time back to La Carbonara and as usual I was very satisfied. The food is fresh, tasty and does not disappoint. I live not far from the restaurant but didnt know if it until a friend who just moved to New York, started asking strangers in the street to recommend a good Italian Restaurant! I hung my head in shame as I explained "she just moved here"..I then made fun of my friend for bothering strangers with really lame questions and 'we don't do that here'...Of course the restaurant happened to be amazing and I've been eating there and my words ever since!"

  • "This is my go-to Italian restaurant. Love the food, wine and unpretentious vibe (not to mention super reasonable prices). Anytime I have out of town visitors, this is where I take them because it's consistently good food!"

  • "I went with a couple of friends because I heard Logan was performing there. Not only was Logan extremely entertaining as always, but the food and drinks were great!"

  • "I'm all for drag queens and disco lights, but not when I choose to go to a quaint Italian joint in the West Village for brunch - the show didn't suit the venue, the music was far too loud and even the wait staff seemed uncomfortable with what was going on.. it just didn't make sense... I would try the place again for dinner during the week, perhaps.."

  • "A friend and I went here for an early dinner on a Saturday night. The ambiance was warm and friendly, and the food was very satisfying. I ordered an arugula salad and pasta with veal. The salad was very fresh, crisp, and perfectly dressed. The pasta was cooked well and the veal was tender with a lovely deep stewed flavor. While we waited for our food we were served bread with what I believe was a bean dip, and after dinner the waiter brought a plate of delicious cookies. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its comfortable surroundings and food."

  • "I adore this place for the service, food and atmosphere, a true gem!"

  • "Great brunch spot for a group of friends, not a good spot if you're hoping for low key brunch days because of the DJ and drag show."

  • "I wouldn't necessarily come here for the brunch food since I have been to plenty of better places. But I would highly recommend that you come for the brunch show which is highly entertaining. Service is good and they are very generous with the huge wine glasses that are filled to the top for the bottomless mimosas. Definitely worry a try!"

  • "Logan Hardcore and Mina are great hosts and the staff is extra friendly (and give great service). I keep coming back because they've never let me down. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a great show with an awesome meal (and a few mimosas)."

  • "A comfortable and affordable restaurant that has changed ownership. The lighting was so low for dinner that patrons had to use cell phone to read menu. This was distracting as flashlights went on and off at other tables. The service was pleasant and attentive. Do not order the Caesar salad. It was inedible. The pasta and chicken are still very good as is the fish."

  • "Had to take home balance of the appetizer, it was so much. Had baked eggplant. Very tasty. Not a lot of people. Restaurant business is not easy. Prices were very good."

  • "I have been coming to this restaurant for years and the food had been reliably excellent. I had not been to La Carbonara in 6 months and noticed a huge difference in the quality of the selections I ordered. The lentil soup, which had always been amazing, was bland and lacked seasoning and any hint of white truffle oil. The chicken cacciatore was bland, under seasoned and burnt. The staff seemed totally new since my last visit (and certainly not as friendly), which makes me wonder in it is under new management. This place has taken a turn for the worse, which is disappointing. There are now large signs on the windows offering a fixed-price menu, which also makes me think that they are struggling. Better than signs, improve the food!"

  • "And I liked this restaurant before. The new prix fixe menu is a plus. Loved the veal ragu pasta. Service is friendly and accommodating. I'll keep going back."

  • "Always love coming to Carbonara--the service is excellent, the food is delicious and the place is so charming! On top of that, the prices are reasonable. Will be coming back here ASAP."

  • "The service here was very attentive and the price was right. The mussels appetizer was superb but my salmon was a little stingy. Would have enjoyed a bit more fish and if it were grilled rather than baked. So don't order the salmon but enjoy this restaurant nonetheless."

  • "I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH LA CARBONARA. IT IS A VERY CONSISTENT RESTAURANT. WHAT PLEASES ME THAT IT ADDRESSES THE GLUTEN FREE DIET THAT I HAVE TO FOLLOW. THIS RESTAURANT HAS GOT IT'S ACT TOGETHER!"

  • "I had never heard of this place, but was looking for a spot close to meatpacking and both OpenTable and Yelp seemed to vouch for this La Carbonara. The decor isn't trendy, but that's not the point of this small, Italian joint. The wait staff was eager to please, and the food was very good. Of particular note was that they had a very impressive list of specials. My friend ordered one of them and loved it. All in all, this is a spot built for comfort (not for sceney speed). A lovely meal for a chill night ---- and remarkably affordable. Try the tiramisu!"

  • "Went here because it was open late, close and had spaghetti and meatballs on the menu! The food was OK at best, Caesar salad was only passable and the bread was soggy. Service was extremely attentive. This is NYC - there are thousands of better options. But, if you're in the area and can find nothing else - go for it!"

  • "we go to carbonara every few weeks and always satisfied except friday when we had to send my linguine with clam sauce back twice because it was just TOOOO salty ...waitress was really great and took order off our bill...seems even tho chef did not add salt second time he must have used the same water for the pasta??"

  • "I enjoyed the food (got lamb shank) but thought the place was too dark. It was also too noisy for my taste. The food was very good and was a very good value. I recommend the place if you don't mind lots of noise and a dark place."
