"Always a neighborhood fave for reliably delicious Italian food, the other evening was special due to a daily special -- orata over asparagus risotto. Definitely ascending to the culinary heights. Time to start exploring more daily specials!"

"We've always enjoyed the food here with the exception of the spaghetti ala carbonara which has been good except that I would like the bacon to be rendered and I find theirs to be like eating tiny chunks of fat. The brasata is especially good and we love the leek appetizer. Our guests enjoyed the deserts the most. Their only negative review was that they found the wine list didn't have enough variety. The staff did their best to help them find something to please them. All in all, we enjoy this place and even my nine year old says the spaghetti and meatballs is as good as Daddy's and that is quite a compliment. Normally I would never go out for spaghetti and meatballs but I would certainly order them here. The prices are affordable too"

"La Carbonara has been on the cusp of the West Village and Chelsea for a few years now. It has become a "go to" restaurant for the neighborhood and, based on the crowds, everyone else! The staff is wonderful, the bar is great (order the Manhattan-WOW), the staff very friendly and, most of all, the food is not only delicious but priced right. No wonder La Carbonara is so popular. I go a lot and they NEVER let me or my friends and visitors down."

"I can't wait to go back to La Carbonara. The food was exceptional and the menu had a good variety without being too large...plus it was very affordable. The service was great as well. I had the short rib and spinach ravioli with butter sauce and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! My husband got the homemade fettucine with shrimp and marinara. He said the homemade pasta was some of the best he's ever had. All in all, this restaurant is definitely worth the visit."

"We've enjoyed the food at La Carbonara for several years, and my partner chose it for his birthday dinner. We'd never been on a Sunday evening before, and it was like a different restaurant: dim, romantic candlelight, quiet conversation. (During peak dining hours it can be too loud to hear yourself think, let alone converse.) After one yowling baby was quickly whisked away (a happy accident of timing, not a concerned parent), we settled in for a delicious meal. Service was friendly, attentive and non-intrusive. Baked leeks with goat cheese is a stellar appetizer; roast loin of pork stuffed with figs and gorgonzola was cooked perfectly; the eponymous carbonara, delicious. They even surpised us with a birthday dessert, complete with serenade!"
