La Carafe is a moderately to inexpensive price restaurant in the heart of the theatre district. Service was considerate, calm, and pleasant. Food was good and there are many different selections to appeal to all tastes.

the food was so delicious. Fresh feta, mussels were spectacular, humus, eggplant dip, warmed pita, house wine was good and inexpensive. I picked this for a group of five for a varied menu and good prices. We loved it and will definitely go back. Great find!

I have eaten here before and have had the same problem both times. The service is sub par. Food is decent and wine selection is quite good and reasonable. Unexplainably, one entree came with our appetizers and was of course sent back. Service is haphazard. Despite the small environs, the wait staff seem overwhelmed. We had to ask for small plates as we were sharing the starters. Better establishments have management that will pitch in when things get out of hand. Here they just watch. Have to been to Paris numerous times and eaten in smaller cafes, this place has that feeling but not for good reasons. Despite the criticism, I recommend the place as long as you know what you're getting yourself into.

This was my first time to La Carafe. The hostess and waitress checked in to make sure all was fine. This was a good experience and we will be back. Somehow the pace of the meal was off since the entrees arrived soon after the salad. Also, we ordered an additional salad since we were unaware that the entree already was a salad. It would have been nice of the waitress offered some suggestions. Bread was not offered and when we asked we had some flat pita bread. It's a nice small place so hopefully some of the kinks can be worked out.
