Place to go to prior to the book of mormon5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend from Colorado, whoMy friend from Colorado, who is a gourmet cook, loved her dinner and we did too!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for after or before a showExcellent food and service. Our table was set back almost in a little room. Great place to talk.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was great, veryThe service was great, very friendly and helpful without being obnoxious. The food was very tasty, although the calamari were a weak spot. They tasted like they had been frozen rather than fresh, very rubbery and not very flavorful. Otherwise, the steaks were well cooked and seasoned, and the fish special - walleye - tasted fresh and was well prepared. We'd eat there again. It was very quiet however, almost strange how empty the place was. Not necesarily a good sign on a Friday night!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to go to for aGreat place to go to for a nice dinner before going to the theater. They are very conscious of when you need to leave for your show, which is very nice. And great food!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value! Fantastic foodGreat value! Fantastic food and wine. You sacrifice a little on the ambieance but definitely make up for it with the prices!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone enjoyed themselves.Everyone enjoyed themselves. Waiter was fab. No complaints and will always come back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLow-ceilinged restaurant onLow-ceilinged restaurant on the subterranian level of the Italian Village complex, it has a European feel and a wall of aquariums with live fish. I enjoyed the surf and turf dinner and we had a very knowledgeable and helpful waitress.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Cantina knows what they'reLa Cantina knows what they're doing in taking care of their customers and with serving very good meals at an affordable price. Very comfortable dining there, always a pleasure.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service, but noisyLa Cantina is the basement level restaurant of the Italian Village. It is a cave-like atmosphere, but in a positive way. Ceilings are low and the feel is intimate. Service was excellent and the food delicious. The noise as "energetic," and this is why we probably won't return. We were there on a Friday evening, and the bar area was packed; noise spilled into the dining area. We were seated in a small room (great for groups!) where there was a large group of 13 or so, another group of 8,and our table of 2. We could barely hear one another to speak because of the noise of the groups, and the tables were packed so tightly that it was difficult to get in/out (almost claustrophic).4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice little chop house. ExcellentNice little chop house. Excellent service with very good food.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNice quiet restaurant withNice quiet restaurant with italian menu that included steaks, chops and seafood. Lower level of the famous old Italian Village. Great place for dinner before a show or concert anywhere in the loop.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingMy fav of the Italian Village rooms...nothing compares to the service provided. Water glasses will never fall below half empty. Amazing wine list. For the quality of food and the downtown location I was prepared to spend far more on the check then I did. Dinner for two with shrimp cocktail, wine, and capichino was under 100. TIP INCLUDED!!! Order the lasagna....nothing woll beat it.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food, wine, and serviceThe food, wine, and service was excellent. I will be visiting again in the future.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
