La Caille RestaurantExcellent!!Food was fabulous! This restaurant has pulled out all stops.
Kudos to the chef. Great wait staff. My friends from Washington and
San Francisco claimed one of their best if not the best meal they've
ever has!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFancy la caille by dbaneWe've dined here many times before. It's all about the atmosphere not neccessarily the food. The flowers from previous years were lacking. I mention this because the price you pay here is about the overall ambience. The food served for Mother's Day brunch was served family style in a generous portion. The service was great. We were a group of 7. The manager introduced himself to us wich was a nice touch. Our server was great on a busy holiday. Upon leaving by valet the the front greeters ran to us to offer our 7 year old a nice lollipop as a kind parting gift. Definitely worth the 300 bill for 7. This place is worth it on special occasions.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Restaurant, food mediocreThis restaurant is beautiful, but the food was not very good. It was cold, didn't taste all that good and definitely NOT worth the price..5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience! We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday, our 10th wedding anniversary, and Mother's Day- all which fall in the same week. We wanted this dinner to be special and it was! The food was delicious, Shannon, our server, was so attentive to everything we needed, and the meal was topped off with a dessert with a sparkler because of our 3 special events. We were so pleased that we chose La Caille. The peacocks were walking all around and we heard them through dinner as they had the french doors near us open. Something we probably won't experience anywhere else. Lovely to walk the grounds after our meal.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful settingGreat choice for an early Mother's Day celebration. Fantastic early dining menu. Wonderful food and service.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurantThis is the second time we have had brunch there and I am still in love with this place. The food is fantastic and it keeps on coming with a 4 course brunch. My wife equates the food to breakfast candy (Crème Brule French toast anyone?). It may be a tad on the pricey side but if you go in expecting it, it isn't that bad. A must do for special occasions and brunch is much cheaper than dinner.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great GraduationWe remembered la Caille as a special place and after many years it did not disappoint. It is on spectacular grounds with great views of the mountains and a lovely stream running through it. The birds and animals are great and the chateau building is charming. The grounds were in between seasons and showing a little wear.
The service was the highlight - so friendly yet professional, we felt like friends. The food was good but not fabulous, though dessert was delicious - the torched Alaska was delicious. It is an expensive night, but for a celebration we were glad that we could afford it. It did not disappoint.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench onion soup was veryFrench onion soup was very good, the main course too heavy and fatty sauces, but deserts great as usual4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA beautiful and deliciousA beautiful and delicious experience. One of a kind place.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMrjpidLe Caille is a very special place. The ambience is remarkable. The food during our visit was very good, with some special dishes that were extraordinary (seared scallops). The between course sorbet was off the chart (we could have eaten 6 each). The 3 course special menu is full of great selections. The flaming bananas foster is a great desert treat. Recommended!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth hunting outThe entrance to this property, along a wilderness highway, is difficult to find (especially at night), but well worth hunting out. Chef Brandon Howard has created a delightful and elegant retreat where the senses can be indulged and satisfied. One of the finest dining experiences in the Salt Lake area.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our evening, howeverWe enjoyed our evening, however noticed that the restaurant did not look as clean and well kept as it had in other times. We have dined there many times over the years, and in fact were married there in 1994.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable, and more affordable, tooLa Caille is a special and unique place, the grounds are beautiful, it's like nothing else in Salt Lake. The food is classic, with adventurous and standard choices to make anyone happy. I'm usually partial to a more modern style, but the imaginative french styling and estate set-up makes for a special experience. The service was friendly and helpful, while providing a memorable, delicious meal! Best of all, the prices have come down slightly while the quality has improved. If you haven't been here before, or if you haven't been in a while, it's worth it for a night not! Now, with their "Common Wealth" menu (Tuesdays?) it is DEFINITELY worth checking out, it is such a bargain with great choices - you could go just because at that price4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMagicalThis is such a special magical place and we always like to bring our house guests here. No one is ever disappointed. The food presentation is wonderful and the presentation matches each menu item's exquisite taste.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMServed brunch family style.Served brunch family style. Lots of meats -- bacon -- ham -- sausages -- along with eggs benedict (more ham) -- salmon (good) french toast (amazing) --
Could have had more fresh fruit -- small plate -- but it was a very nice Easter event!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBy far the best overall diningBy far the best overall dining experience I've ever had. The waitress was a sweetheart, and the food was excellent. It was also a very romantic setting all around.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently SuperbA great dining experience, La Caille is a special night out. Food, service and the ambience are top notch. Absolutely the best for a special event or romantic evening.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for the CommonwealthWe went for the Commonwealth dinner twice. The first time I had the scallops & they were very good. The next time I had the gnocchi & it lacked flavor & was bland. My husband had the steak & said it was excellent. It is a good value for $36.00 if you order the right entrée.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible ExperienceSpectacular food, service and ambience. It's not something we can afford often but for a special occasion it's well worth the cost.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRan Out of FoodLa Caille is a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunatley, we chose to go on the busiest day of the year - Valentine's Day. Reservations ran 45-60 minutes behind. Frustrated guests lined the hallway and crowded the tiny bar which sat 4 people. When we were seated, the waitress informed us that they didn't have the salmon, lamb, filet, or scallops - the four best dishes of the house. I was disappointed to have been relegated to the chicken, but it was very good. I have to say, the waitstaff handled the evening gracefully. The waitress was apologetic and the manager bent over backwards to appease my husband. I would recommend La Caille, but not on a high volume night.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
