Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. The menu had a wide variety of foods that could accomodate the dietary restrictions of each member of our group--vegetarian, gluten-free. The carmel drizzle on the croissants was a nice touch. The portions were generous. The warm biegnets were a nice finishing touch to the meal. This was our fifth dinner at La Caille, and although not quite as exciting as the last time ( a wedding, complete with an amazing fireworks display), it was incredible, as always!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly reacquainted .After several years of staying away, we were pleasantly surprised. Food , Service and Wine were outstanding. You can not beat the romantic French looking auberge and its surrounding. We had the peacocks and ducks visit close to the open patio doors.
We will be back more often from here on out.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ambience!My wife and I tried La Caille for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The property is nestled in among wooded hills and vineyards. You drive a tree lined, red brick path and arrive at a round about fountain in front of a quaint cottage. There are ducks and swains roaming freely and the valet takes your car from there. You are greeted warmin in the front reception and offered different locations to be seated based on your preference. If it is summer, ask to be seated outside.
The wait service is excellent with friendly and knowledgeable servers. The feel inside is what I would imagine inside a French cottage, with lots of statues, and cobble stone floor, heavy stone accents, large heavy tables. The flowers from previous years were lacking. I mention this because the price you pay here is about the overall ambience. The food served for Mother's Day brunch was served family style in a generous portion. The service was great. We were a group of 7. The manager introduced himself to us wich was a nice touch. Our server was great on a busy holiday. Upon leaving by valet the the front greeters ran to us to offer our 7 year old a nice lollipop as a kind parting gift. Definitely worth the 300 bill for 7. We wanted this dinner to be special and it was! The food was delicious, Shannon, our server, was so attentive to everything we needed, and the meal was topped off with a dessert with a sparkler because of our 3 special events. We were so pleased that we chose La Caille. The peacocks were walking all around and we heard them through dinner as they had the french doors near us open. The food is fantastic and it keeps on coming with a 4 course brunch. My wife equates the food to breakfast candy (Crème Brule French toast anyone?). It may be a tad on the pricey side but if you go in expecting it, it isn't that bad. It is on spectacular grounds with great views of the mountains and a lovely stream running through it. The birds and animals are great and the chateau building is charming. The grounds were in between seasons and showing a little wear.
The service was the highlight - so friendly yet professional, we felt like friends. The food was good but not fabulous, though dessert was delicious - the torched Alaska was delicious. It is an expensive night, but for a celebration we were glad that we could afford it.
