What's more delicious than Bruschetta? At La Bruschetta they have a lovely mix of fish, pasta, meatloaf, sliders and of course, bruschetta. Fun evening for girls! Happened to have Salsa on St. Clair the same night. Lots of fun!

We were there for Summerlicious Lunch. I can't wait to go back there again. The food was excellent! I didn't know if I was eating at home or in a restaurant. That's how natural the environment felt. The owner and the staff were extremely warm, friendly, and funny telling us great stories. The decor gives you the feel of being in a restaurant in the streets of Rome. A family owned restaurant which you must experience!

It is a small family type restaurant. Was there a few years ago and wanted to go back, don't know if it was because of summerlicious but food was not as good and service was horrible. I don't think the waiter wanted to be working that night and it showed in the service. The other servers seemed quite plesant. His demeanor did change slightly when he saw that a gave him a better tip than the service he gave us.

We walk in and told the host our name for the reservation and was responded with a "yeah yeah". The restaurant itself is very tiny, you could hear everyone's conversation. The other tables all knew each other and seemed to judge those who were not regulars, which was uncomfortable. We ordered the wild boar meatballs and the "fall off the bone" ribs, which both used the exact same sauce that was overly salty. It was the same meal with different meats. The restaurant completely changed their dessert options which was extremely disappointing because the dessert options were the reason we wanted to go (they advertised gelato and a nutella dessert!). My dessert came straight out of a box and was still partially frozen. Not impressed at all.

I enjoyed the evening, mainly because it is a very comfortable place to get together with friends. I was somewhat disappointed in the food, however (Winterlicious) . The gnocchi were good but the mushroom sauce was not very inspired. The ribs seemed a little overcooked. Appetizers were good and profiteroles for dessert were great.

Our waiter forgot my soft drink for over half an hour. When we received the bill, they did not take the charge off which I thought they should have granted I waited for half an hour. Our waiter also never came over to ask how our food was. It seemed the owner/manager came over to our table a few times to ask how everything was going but I was disappointed with our waiter. He was a middle-aged blonde man.

La Bruschetta does some things really well- their homemade tomato sauce is to die for. The bruschetta is still excellent but you now have to ask for the homemade hot peppers. This was a Winterlicious menu and too many things had been cooked ahead of time that needn't have been. I had the clams and mussels and the mussels were overcooked and the dish was lukewarm. My main was their winter stew and the sausage and veal and tomato sauce were great but boneless chicken breast was dry and tasteless. The polenta also is fantastic. The highlight was dessert- homemade gelato, more like ice cream but the Zabaglione gelato was amazing as was the praline garnish. I'd go back and try. They also didn't offer their regular menu.

La Bruchetta has been on St Clair for as long as I can remember, serving upscale, Italian cuisine. The next generation is in control now, without much change. Dishes are generous, sauces are thick and tasty and the chairs are comfy. Prices are a little steep, though not out of the park on the regular menu. For Winterlicous it was a real bargain at $25. Service was good without being cloying on a not too busy night. Hoping that they have extra staff for the busy nights.

  • Summerlicious 2013
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

Our family of five made a reservation for the summerlicious three courses fixed price event. Two members of our family arrived first and felt that they were ignored and not given appropriate attention. After everyone arrived, we had to ask for another three menus. The atmosphere was average and service was a little slow. We enjoyed our dinner although we had to return two pasta dinners as they were very salty. They were replaced with freshly made ones which was much better although one of the pasta dishes was a tad undercooked. We were given a plate of tiramisu dessert to compensate for the two returned dishes which we thought was a good gesture. We particularly enjoyed the home-made pasta. Overall, a good experience!

My wife and I visited La Bruschetta during Summerlicious and mayube that was our mistaker. While the food was delicious, and portions generous, the service was less than attentive. The waiter and front of house staff were more concerned about gathering and gossiping at the back of the restaurant than bringing drink orders to the table. Once it arrived the Milano drink ($10) was heavily watered down and over iced. A poor substitute for a Manhattan. Go for the food, but expect to have some roadbumps with the service.

I went during Summerlicious with a friend and we both agreed we would be back soon. The service was prompt and friendly, the food quite tasty. By the time we left it was getting a bit noisy for us, but there was a rather boisterous group beside us having a good time. Pasta was perfectly done, dessert - panna cotta, was yummy.

The restaurant was a little tight, but cozy and well decorated. Due to space, it's probably better to have a table less than 6. The service was friendly, though a little slow, possibly because we went during Winterlicious. Food was good and the wine delicious. It's a restaurant I'd definitely return to, but I'd probably pick a weekday evening or a less popular dinning time.

The restaurant was very busy - Saturday night and winterlious but the service was good and not rushed. The noise level was high because there were a couple of larger groups and the sound carries as it is not an intimate restaurant - long and narrow. The food was fresh but I had a Caprese salad that was advertised a mozzarella di buffalo. The mozzarella tasted the same as the mozzarella balls you get in the grocery store which are made from cow's milk - no where near the buffalo mozzarella you get in Naples, Italy. My husband loved the Osso Buco, said it was quite similar to what his Italian mother used to make. My pasta was home made and cooked to perfection.

We had a rude waiter (Blonde older guy)... when we advised him we wanted the Summerlicious Menu he snapped back and replied "You have no choice", we asked for an extra wine glass- which he didn’t bother bringing then towards the end of the meal he came around and tried being friendly - I guess he thought he could make up for his rudeness and get a decent tip (which he didn't). The food was was also disappointing needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

We love Italian food so we went to La Brushetta with the hopes of having great food. We were attended to by a waiter who was an older gentleman. He was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were using the summerlicious menu. The drinks were bitter. The bed of cabbage under the shrimp was bitter and had no flavour. Then we order the veal, which i was excited about because it sounded good. The menu clearly stated that it would be stuffed with provolone. When we got the veal, there was no provolone in it. As a matter of fact NO CHEESE WAS IN IT.I am a chef so I know what provolone would look and taste like. I asked the waiter, "I thought this would have cheese in it" His response was, "It's parmesan cheese so it wont really melt..."

We went to La Bruschetta during Summerlicious and the place is nice, however, maybe as an attempt to create extra room for people, the tables were quite close from each other, making private conversation a little difficult. But some time later we arrived, they moved us to a bigger table with extra room. Food was on averate, nothing special so to say. One thing that annoyed us was the too slow service. It took a long time to bring us the the appetizers, main dish and dessert. In total we spent almost two hours in the restaurant just to have a salad, a gnocchi.

We were pleasantly surprised. There were eight of us dining - we had few gourmet foodies n the group who were equally surprised and pleased. There wasn't one disappointed person. Easily one of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time. The food and selections was amazing. It was not the usual standard fare. They did not skimp on the dishes offered for Summerlicious, and only $25, which is phenomenal considering the amount of food you get. The staff, atmosphere, food, price...excellent. I love this place. Can't wait to go back again!
