Diner Reviews
  • "Our waiter forgot my soft drink for over half an hour. When we received the bill, they did not take the charge off which I thought they should have granted I waited for half an hour. Our waiter also never came over to ask how our food was. It seemed the owner/manager came over to our table a few times to ask how everything was going but I was disappointed with our waiter. He was a middle-aged blonde man."

  • "We walk in and told the host our name for the reservation and was responded with a "yeah yeah". The restaurant itself is very tiny, you could hear everyone's conversation. The other tables all knew each other and seemed to judge those who were not regulars, which was uncomfortable. We ordered the wild boar meatballs and the "fall off the bone" ribs, which both used the exact same sauce that was overly salty. It was the same meal with different meats. The restaurant completely changed their dessert options which was extremely disappointing because the dessert options were the reason we wanted to go (they advertised gelato and a nutella dessert!). My dessert came straight out of a box and was still partially frozen. Not impressed at all."

  • "I enjoyed the evening, mainly because it is a very comfortable place to get together with friends. I was somewhat disappointed in the food, however (Winterlicious) . The gnocchi were good but the mushroom sauce was not very inspired. The ribs seemed a little overcooked. Appetizers were good and profiteroles for dessert were great."

  • "La Bruschetta does some things really well- their homemade tomato sauce is to die for. The bruschetta is still excellent but you now have to ask for the homemade hot peppers. This was a Winterlicious menu and too many things had been cooked ahead of time that needn't have been. I had the clams and mussels and the mussels were overcooked and the dish was lukewarm. My main was their winter stew and the sausage and veal and tomato sauce were great but boneless chicken breast was dry and tasteless. The polenta also is fantastic. The highlight was dessert- homemade gelato, more like ice cream but the Zabaglione gelato was amazing as was the praline garnish. I'd go back and try. They also didn't offer their regular menu."

  • "La Bruchetta has been on St Clair for as long as I can remember, serving upscale, Italian cuisine. The next generation is in control now, without much change. Dishes are generous, sauces are thick and tasty and the chairs are comfy. Prices are a little steep, though not out of the park on the regular menu. For Winterlicous it was a real bargain at $25. Service was good without being cloying on a not too busy night. Hoping that they have extra staff for the busy nights."
