La Brasserie Bistro and Bar
Great Mother!s DayStarting with the chilled Tomato soup which was a perfect temperature for such a hot day the meal was delicious. I had the fish special which consisted of Hallibut in a tasty broth accompanied by mussels and lobster ravioli. Bliss! The only complaint I had was that I had to ask for a spoon because the broth was too delicious to waste! I splurged on the chocolate mousse (after all, it was Mother's Day) and was not disappointed. Creamy and smooth and a great way to end such a delightful meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as usual!Enjoyed yet another great evening at La Brasserie last night. All four entrees were excellent as were the two shared salads. Very professional service. Always enjoyable!!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFor your "must-do" listWe make the Brasserie a "must-do" every time we are in the Palm Desert area. The staff and the food are exceptionally good. Haven't found anything that equals or surpasses it!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHospitality! It was our first time on the attractive patio, on a perfect evening, just warm enough, with a full moon out. Very busy and service was attentive but slow, nicely apologized for by complimentary glasses of the Layer Cake Shiraz we were drinking. Always love the hangar steak and frites! At one point we got a bit miffed when the music level went up and mentioned it to a staff person - turned out it was a special piece for someone celebrating a birthday and didn't last long. (And we were very much enjoying it otherwise.) But after her set, Yves Evans stopped by our table and apologized, which gave US a chance to apologize and then we had a cheerful conversation. Bottom line: very professional people here, taking the extra steps be welcoming.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again Brasserie BistroOnce again Brasserie Bistro offered us an enjoyable evening of French cuisine. The live music added to the ambience, but it is truly the food that brings us back time and time again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance outdoors, veryGreat ambiance outdoors, very good food, and we particularly enjoyed the live music on the patio!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWill definitely returnWe really enjoyed our evening. Our server, Eric, was very charming and the food delicious! I ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak Bordelaise: it was cooked to perfection! I swapped the fries for spinach (just so I wouldn't feel too guilty) yum! Didn't care for the bone marrow... My husband had the Ceasar Salad and Honey Brine Pork Chop. Again, excellent! We rarely order dessert but went for the Profiterole Au Chocolat - oh so good! Next time we hope to be seated on the patio; looks very inviting. Overall a great experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe bothe had the trout...itWe bothe had the trout...it was too die for. The pear tart with caramel was delicious as we're the profiteroles. I had the flat iron steak and it was cooked to perfection. The other meals at our table were the frogs legs--she thought it was a lot of work to get at them and thought it was an unusual way to serve them- on top of noodles. The beef bourgnion was okay, but don't think it would be ordered again. The desserts were excellent--pear tarte- outstanding. I would definitely return3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed the restaurant. We really enjoyed the restaurant. My only problem was the special was veal osso buco and it was not that good. Our server was very accomodaating and never tried to rush two friends having a very leisurely lunch. My friend had the quiche which she said was delicious. I had the Tarte Flambee which was okay, nothing special. I have had really excellent food here on other occasions. The onion soup and the croque monsieur are always satisfying. Dinner choices are varied including many regional French offerings.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant Surprise:-)Lovely outdoor patio, jazz singer, trickling fountain..... The food was tremendous, we both had the onion soup which is rich and very filling. I had the steak salad which was superb and perfect lunch meal. My wife had the quiche Lorraine and salad which she enjoyed very much. It was just like we had stepped from streets of La Quinta into a bistro on the streets of Paris. We will return for dinner and the happy hour also looks promising. Thank you.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in LaQuintaI have dined at the Brasserie twice this month, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the service and food have been delightful. The outside terrace while not scenic is very cozy and inviting. The menu has great offerings. My friends had the salmon and were very pleased with the presentation and preparation of the fish. I had the soup of the day and Caesar salad. The potato-leek soup and salad were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
