Diner Reviews
  • "First time here and I was very impressed. I had the Ultimate Vegeterian Rice and it was amazing. My friend had the Paella. Im not a huge seafood person but I did try a bite with shrimp and it was very good too. Everything was perfectly seasoned was lacking nothing. There are not even salt and pepper on the table and reason enough..you dont need them. Had a great bottle of wine that was very affordable. Will definately be back"

  • "The food is wonderful! Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. The lighting is comfortable and the music is played at a tasteful level. We were lucky enough to also be there on a night when there was live music. A wonderful place for a date!"

  • "We went as a group of 5 and traded bites, everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Especially enjoyed the fried plantains, were soft, moist and well seasoned. Might like a little more heat in the Pollo sandwich. Enjoyed and will go again. Our waitress didn't have answers to some of our food questions but she went to the chef and returned with answers. Impressive"

  • "We had an enjoyable evening with friends at La Brasa Peruvian Kitchen. The interior is fun, our waitor Lex was a hoot and the food was very good, served promptly and very tasty."

  • "Peruvian food, done well. Seafood for foodies, which can sometimes be hard to do well, especially in OKC. Great vegetarian choices too (I've already recommended it to a family member). Couldn't have been happier trying to pick a special place to take my wife. Definitely leave the kids at home on this one."

  • "We had the roasted chicken which is a house specialty. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. We shared a whole chicken and two sides; a rice/bean combo and asparagus. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, not pushy but helpful. We will definitely put this one on our list for repeat."

  • "A group of six women met at La Brasa for dinner this past Thursday evening. Two of the women had dined there previously, and both had enjoyed their experience(s); however, both said the service staff needed more training. While our server was good, he admitted he was new to the restaurant and still becoming familiar with dishes and wines offered. The music was way too loud (especially the bass), but was decreased in decibel level when we requested less volume. This is a big mark in favor of the restaurant, as the management in many restaurants will not make the effort to turn the volume down. Although the preceding might indicate dissatisfaction with La Brasa, all of us said we would return, because the food was outstanding!!!!"

  • "This was my second encounter with LaBrasa. The first was a fund raise social with Clark Harris, lovely. I have always wanted to experience the food, the perfect opportunity arose.Girls nite out of elegance. Very delightful and the ladies enjoyed themselves and the food. I would like to see more seafood choices on the menu, but overall the menu was accommodating and lovely choices.I ordered the tilapia and the first time it was delivered it was very dry and hard, almost if the chef flashed it in hot oil and topped it with all your Peruvian goodies. I am a seafood person and it was not satisfactory. The server was very polite and accommodating and removed immediately and offered to prepare another dish for me. Much, much better and enjoyable."

  • "Had high hopes based on reviews but mildly disappointed. Service was indifferent, atmosphere a little odd. There was distorted live music happening at one point, which we couldn't see or "get" because we were behind a curtain. Sound system needs upgrading. Lighting is very dim, especially against the curtain. Menu had interesting choices."

  • "The pollo a la brasa was amazing. We got half a bird for two people with three sides, the cilantro rice, yucca and fried plantains. Everything was flavorful and great! Our server was attentive and gave us good advice. Nice selection of south american wine. We also had the jalea mixta (panko fried seafood) for our appetizer. The seafood was fried well, not greasy and it was a good mix of crab, calamari, shrimp and fish. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and will definitely go back. We highly recommend this pace."

  • "I made an OpenTable reservation for dinner on a Wednesday. When I arrived at La Brasa, I was informed that the restaurant is not open to the public on Wednesday evenings despite having reservations available on OpenTable."

  • "The wait for food was unusually long. The waiter said the kitchen was backed up. That points to a management issue. The restaurant flow needs work. 20 minutes to take an order plus 45 minutes for the food to show up. It was obvious that the wait staff was trying their best but even they seemed to lack leadership. The food was good. The wait was not worth it."

  • "Peruvian seems to be a growing trend. These restaurants are popping up everywhere. This place is the new standard for OKC Peruvian, and I suspect it always will be. The chef is extremely talented and I can't wait to try the rest of his offerings. I will go out of my way to keep going back until I've had every dish on the menu. The scene is chic and relaxing. The food is amazing. Well done, La Brasa! See you soon"

  • "La Brasa is definitely my favorite new restaurant in OKC. The mix of Peruvian with an Asian twist is perfect together. For first timers I would recommend going straight for the roasted chicken. So good!"

  • "Parties of 5 or more STAY AWAY THEY CANT HANDLE IT..however The music was great. The food looked good on paper, the service absolutely horrific. This is a very nice club, bartenders are extremely slow. (20mins for 6 drinks) dont go for food. there is better service and food near by to enjoy before coming here to dance. This is a club trying to serve food. They failed on numerous attemps. Reservation 8:45pm, sat at 9:10pm, ate at 11:05pm and all out of order. Got my appetizer for dessert. Owner was extremely frustrated. I work in the hotel industry and will never ever recommend this establishment ever again."

  • "We went for Valentines prixe fixe and basically the food was just not good! It was bland and either over or undercooked. The side salad was so limp and tiny it was like something you'd get at a super old school place (white lettuces, carrot threads and croutons) and tasted like bottled dressing. They must have made it days ago! And the service wasn't good! Finally at dessert, we thought this would be the piece de resistance, but alas, our crème brulee was so soupy and a and the fresh press coffee tasted awful! Was bummed...hoped for more from the cool vibe and kitschy décor."

  • "The pollo de brasa was tasteless and small in portion size. Neither the verde or amarillo sauces added to the flavor. Sad to say the best part of our $117 dining experience (no alcohol) was the side of mushrooms. The service was lacking, the waiter spoke with an accent that was hard to understand and the restrooms required a hostess to help you find them. The restrooms were nasty and not clean. We could have dined at the Vast for the same money and enjoyed great food and clean restrooms."

  • "We visited La Brasa for Valentine's Day because they a) took reservations (thru Open Table) and b) had an intriguing prix fixe menu just for the holiday. Upon arrival, I could tell the hostess was a little overwhelmed but we were promptly seated. The service was accommodating and adequate. Being in the old Kamps building, the ambiance was a mix of modern and antique with a dash of hipster. The tables were spaced apart enough for comfort and privacy. All of that said, the shining star of the night was the food, which exceeded expectations at each course. I recommend the panko fried chicken for starters and the sea bass, which melts in the mouth."

  • "It took about 40 min to get our appetizers. I got the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes, wife got the steak. The chicken and potatoes were dry and the steak was good but had too much fat. To get charged $90 for 1/2 chicken, a thin steak, dry mashed potatoes and a shared dessert, I felt like we were charged way too much. I was really looking forward to the tres leches. When we were served our dessert, we were told that they ran out of tres leches and we were given the crem brûlée. It was fine except for when we were about to pay our tab, the table next to us was being served the tres leches. :( I felt that the meal should cost around $60 including the tip. On a positive note, the live entertainment ( Adam and Kizzie) were faboulous."

  • "We decided to try La Brasa for something new. Everything was wonderful. Two of us had the 1/2 chicken special. It was amazing. The plantains and yucca were great sides as well. Another person had the tacu tacu which was excellent as well. We all had drinks...most margaritas. They were all good as well. Overall a very nice experience. We will definitely be back to try other things."

  • "I will start with the food. The chicken and vegetables were delicious. The rice was cold on both dishes Our waiter needs re-training for sure. No customer service to speak of. The lighting was so low we couldn't see our food. That might be fine for young eyes but for 60 plus eyes it just didn't work."

  • "Kudos to the staff at La Brasa! There was a mix up in our reservation for New Year's Eve- we scheduled dinner for a party of 4 only to find that dinner was not being served. Instead, the entire restaurant was dedicated to a large NYE party. The staff treated us quite graciously and we were allowed to order from the regular menu in spite of the set up for the party buffet. Unusually fine customer service. The food was excellent. I enjoy trying new cuisine and was not disappointed. Very fine quality, quantity and variety."

  • "We drove past La Brasa several times and finally had a chance to try it. The La Brasa Chicken Special was so tender and delicious- ask for the "hot" sauce. It compliments the cilantro sauce. Loved everything and the service was exceptional. We will be back!"

  • "My wife and I went to La Brasa for our anniversary dinner. The food was top notch! I had the Sea Bass, and she had the chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection. Also, what made the experience more enjoyable was the staff of the whole establishment. Everyone there seemed genuine and friendly. Our waitress was also amazing. She was very helpful and friendly and was there at just the right moment each time. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. We will definitely be going back."
