Diner Reviews
  • "Fabulous meal. We had the ceviche with halibut, the miso glazed sea bass, and the tacu tacu rice with pork. All dishes were wonderful. Throroughly enjoyed the waiter. He provided us with his own choices but ultimately let us decide. We loved the entire experience."

  • "The french fries were limp and soggy. The crust of the empanada was really nice but there was only a smear of chicken inside. The chicken salad had gristle and some bone fragments. The plantains were very good."

  • "La Brassa, has taken an old local building, that was a grocery store and converted into a restaurant/cabaret. It remains a work in process."

  • "We arrived Monday night with a reservation and were promptly seated. 15 minutes before we saw a waiter and 15 minutes before we had our drinks or water. They had a large crowd seated together of young women about 16 total that might have been unexpected. Food was good. Restrooms not very clean. Service slow. If you have plenty of time it is OK."

  • "I am so glad I tried something new. The food was great, the waitress was knowledgable, the bartender hooked me up, and the environment was inviting. My overall experience was absolutely amazing. My husband and I came to celebrate his promotion and my new job and the staff helped us make this a special dinner."

  • "Awesome food but a lot of flies for some reason. Have a good drink menu and love that all the entrees are made from scratch and fresh daily!!"

  • "We had a reservation for six at 6:00 p.m. on a Sat. night and were seated immediately (at a table with 3 chairs on one side and a long bench on the other--not terrible but not optimal). Ordering took a while, mostly because we took time to explore and discuss all the wonderful menu options. The guacamole and queso appetizers were great. (Chip serving was not generous but quickly replenished on request.) We tried a variety of entrees--Seafood Paella, Pollo a La Brasa, Ceviche Pescado, Butifarra--and everything was delicious. Churros and Creme Brûlée for dessert, plus one French Press was enough for 4 to have a cup each. We were done by 7:30, and the bill was less than $200 (before tip), incl. a nice bottle of wine, a margarita, 2 beers."

  • "I ordered the seafood ceviche, chicharrones de pollo and 1/2 grilled chicken. The chicharrones were really good with the sauces and platain chips. The ceviche was ok, had better. The grilled chicken was a big portion but it was very bland, it lack the real peruvian spices that i loved in this chicken."

  • "Let's help keep this gem going. Excellent food. More than fair for the price. This is something different for you foodies out there or just for those willing to branch out. If not, you would still love the roasted chicken!"

  • "This was our first visit to La Brasa. We frequented the Inca Trail quite often simply because of the great food and service, however the ambience was somewhat lacking. La Brasa has a unique atmosphere, great service and simply wonderful food. And Neal as always does a fantastic job. We will be back and will recommend La Brasa to all our friends. Max Clark"

  • "I've eaten hete twice and have been amazed both times. The food is spectacular and our service was amazing! I made a reservation on open table - called when we were running a little late due to the weather, and they held our reservation. We were seated the minute we walked in! This is probably my favorite place in OKC!"

  • "The food was amazing but our bill was rung up wrong three times. Highly recommend the Peruvian chicken and the tuna ceviche. Both were outstanding. Loved the Pisco sour. I told the bartender I had always wanted to try one and he brought me one complimentary!. Special events are winners! You must try it!"

  • "Went on a Monday for the 2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $30 deal; which, I must say is an amazing deal. Although you do have to notify the waiter/waitress that that is the deal you are doing to get the deal. The sea bass and full chicken I believe are the only two entrees that are excluded from this deal. The food is very good. Definitely will be adding this place to my date night rotation."

  • "We have a new Peruvian place and this is it. We've only been once but I can't wait to return and try some of the other dishes. Other reviews have said the chicken is the thing to get so I played it safe and made that my choice. Didn't go wrong as is was perfectly prepared with wonderful sides. "

  • "We went to La Brasa to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation for 12 and were able to get seated immediately at 7p. Our order was not taken until 7:45. It took over an hour to get our food. When it became noticeable how long we had been waiting, our server started avoiding our table. We inquired about the wait with the manager and he said he would take care of us. Then it became some odd dance between the manager and the chef, we spoke to the mgr but the chef kept coming out to explain why there was a wait. All the staff acted very put out bc we asked about our food and to be compensated somewhat for our time. The waiter became very confrontational and sarcastic with us when leaving tickets. Needless to say we won't come back. Terrible"

  • "The food is great. My husband and I have had ceviche, beef, and vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the waiters we have had on both of our visits have been inattentive. "

  • "Not a bad little place. It was a little loud and the numerous TVs about did hurt the atmosphere a bit, but the food was great and service was excellent."

  • "Food authentic and well prepared. Get something with shrimp in it or get a chicken.... you read that right..... get an entire chicken. Don't leave without getting an order of churros. Ambiance great. Family Friendly. Will go back and go back often."

  • "The food was amazingly spiced and perfectly cooked. The chicken is the juiciest I've had and the pork loin was tender and moist. Definitely try the mussels; they have a bruschetta/salsa topping that is to die for."

  • "This was the first time we went to La Brasa and we were both very pleased with the food and the prices. We tried the Monday evening deal which included a bottle of wine - nice. The Peruvian chicken was moist and delicious. The steak choice was also quite good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The bar was beautiful; decor was rather dark but quite nice. Don't be out off by the security gate. We will definitely be back to this wonderful little restaurant."

  • "First time here and I was very impressed. I had the Ultimate Vegeterian Rice and it was amazing. My friend had the Paella. Im not a huge seafood person but I did try a bite with shrimp and it was very good too. Everything was perfectly seasoned was lacking nothing. There are not even salt and pepper on the table and reason enough..you dont need them. Had a great bottle of wine that was very affordable. Will definately be back"

  • "The food is wonderful! Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. The lighting is comfortable and the music is played at a tasteful level. We were lucky enough to also be there on a night when there was live music. A wonderful place for a date!"

  • "We went as a group of 5 and traded bites, everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Especially enjoyed the fried plantains, were soft, moist and well seasoned. Might like a little more heat in the Pollo sandwich. Enjoyed and will go again. Our waitress didn't have answers to some of our food questions but she went to the chef and returned with answers. Impressive"

  • "Peruvian food, done well. Seafood for foodies, which can sometimes be hard to do well, especially in OKC. Great vegetarian choices too (I've already recommended it to a family member). Couldn't have been happier trying to pick a special place to take my wife. Definitely leave the kids at home on this one."

  • "We had the roasted chicken which is a house specialty. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. We shared a whole chicken and two sides; a rice/bean combo and asparagus. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, not pushy but helpful. We will definitely put this one on our list for repeat."

  • "A group of six women met at La Brasa for dinner this past Thursday evening. Two of the women had dined there previously, and both had enjoyed their experience(s); however, both said the service staff needed more training. While our server was good, he admitted he was new to the restaurant and still becoming familiar with dishes and wines offered. The music was way too loud (especially the bass), but was decreased in decibel level when we requested less volume. This is a big mark in favor of the restaurant, as the management in many restaurants will not make the effort to turn the volume down. Although the preceding might indicate dissatisfaction with La Brasa, all of us said we would return, because the food was outstanding!!!!"

  • "This was my second encounter with LaBrasa. The first was a fund raise social with Clark Harris, lovely. I have always wanted to experience the food, the perfect opportunity arose.Girls nite out of elegance. Very delightful and the ladies enjoyed themselves and the food. I would like to see more seafood choices on the menu, but overall the menu was accommodating and lovely choices.I ordered the tilapia and the first time it was delivered it was very dry and hard, almost if the chef flashed it in hot oil and topped it with all your Peruvian goodies. I am a seafood person and it was not satisfactory. The server was very polite and accommodating and removed immediately and offered to prepare another dish for me. Much, much better and enjoyable."

  • "Had high hopes based on reviews but mildly disappointed. Service was indifferent, atmosphere a little odd. There was distorted live music happening at one point, which we couldn't see or "get" because we were behind a curtain. Sound system needs upgrading. Lighting is very dim, especially against the curtain. Menu had interesting choices."

  • "The pollo a la brasa was amazing. We got half a bird for two people with three sides, the cilantro rice, yucca and fried plantains. Everything was flavorful and great! Our server was attentive and gave us good advice. Nice selection of south american wine. We also had the jalea mixta (panko fried seafood) for our appetizer. The seafood was fried well, not greasy and it was a good mix of crab, calamari, shrimp and fish. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and will definitely go back. We highly recommend this pace."
