I never have had good service here, but I go for the atmosphere and food. However, the pizzas used to be so much better. I feel like they have lost something over the years. The Robiola pizza did not have enough white truffle oil and the Pizza Margherita was bland. I was with a group of 5, and for the most part everything was very good. We shared the ravioli, which was delicious. As was the Burrata Caprese. The beet salad and frito misto were also very good. The wine list had some nicely priced bottles. We had the Verdicchio, which was excellent. I love going here and sitting on the patio this time of year.

The patio is sizable, so even while active it wasn't too loud and offered a very nice ambience. The food was tasty and I thought priced reasonably given the location at the edge of trending Meatpacking District and the outdoor seating capacity.

This place has really fallen in my point of view. Although the manager did a good job of seating us (we had a lot of problems with the amount of people and indoor/outdoor seating), I was overall disappointed with my trip to La Bottega. The food used to be better and the service is generally poor - we had a large party and our waitress was ill-equipped for it. Drinks took an enormous amount of time to be brought, things were forgotten and worst of all, despite splitting the check with cash and credit, one of the credit cards was charged the full amount of the bill which is unacceptable. While this used to be one of my favorite places, it may be a while before we return.

Lord know why this place allows any smoking at all in their outdoor table area, or how that's even legal in NYC. I had read a few reviews warning of this so I added a note to my OT res that said "no where near smoking". Well that did nothing because our party of 7 was in the middle of the smoking section. I was busy entertaining my party to realize this before we ordered apps & a new 2 top was added less than 1 foot away and lit up like Xmas trees. When I realized we were in this God awful scenario it seemed too late to move a large group. I was especially mortified because my mother was visiting from out of town and suffers from COPD. Thankfully we only had to suffer through 3 encounters, but I put the blame on the restaurant.

Awful service! I have eaten here regularly since it opened and I have never been treated so poorly by a manager. I've actually never been treated so poorly at any of the vast number of restaurants I frequent in NYC or around the world. Our entrees never showed up. We waited for over 40 minutes. Finally the manager came by and said it would be just 5 minutes more. No reason given. About 10 minutes later we asked for our check. And when the manager finally brought it, he couldn't have been more rude. We told him we were very disappointed, as we've been going here for years. He got very angry and then stormed off. We never said a word until we had waited 40 minutes! This man shouldn't be managing anything other than his anger.

I have eaten at La Bottega over the years, and it is always on point. The menu is not very large, but every item is delicious. The prices are actually very reasonable, given the ambiance and trendy nature of the restaurant. The tables can be a bit crammed, but this is NY, so that is not atypical. Sitting outside is also the move, so make sure to request outdoor dining!

I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a birthday brunch on the earlier side of brunch time and had a great time. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the weather was beautiful, allowing us to enjoy the outdoor seating. I got the baked eggs and they were absolutely delicious, along with the various pizzas we ordered for appetizers. The ricotta cheesecake was also delicious! I would recommend La Bottega for brunch, and definitely for groups -- we were about 10 people and all the orders came out in a timely manner. Loved it!

I normally don't post reviews, but I have to say that I dine here frequently as it close to my apartment and for the outdoor seating. But recently I have noticed the service slipping. But during Sunday brunch, it goes down as the worst service I have received in memory. It felt literally as if we were intentionally being ignored and had to ask for the basics 4 times just to get our food. Not sure I can go back, which is unfortunate.

Met 2 girlfriends for Saturday brunch. We all loved our meals - faro salad, quionoa salad and protein omelette. Server was lovely. Sat outside, a little noisy but it was Manhattan on a beautiful spring afternoon so it was to be expected. Reasonably priced, great location for Chelsea Market and High Line.

The hostess seated us right next to where the servers were dumping dirty dishes, very loud and unsettling. We asked to be moved - after some annoyed looks from the hostess we were moved to a table under the blazing sun with no umbrella for shade. We were concerned with the heat but she said the sun will move and will be better, barely even looking at us as she walked away. Sure enough after 5 min we were getting burnt, asked the server if we can move inside or to a shaded area, another numerous annoyed looks were given. We understand that's it's nuisance so we were very polite about it but my patience was running low. Finally seated, the food served was less than mediocre and servers all looked like they were hungover. Bad experience.

For years, La Bottega served wonderful thin, crispy crust pizzas with great toppings. No more. This past Sunday (Memorial Day weekend) I had one of the worst pizzas ever. The crust was wet and soggy. The toppings were disgusting, the artichoke hearts, in particular. They weren't drained, and all of that artichoke liquid only added to the underdone, limp, and soggy crust. The taste was gross and completely off putting. Make no mistake, this wasn't an off night for the pizza chef. A friend of mine who had a pizza there a week earlier, had the same awful pizza -- disgusting, soggy dough.

This place is fabulous when the service is good. 80% of the time the service is fine. However, the rest of the time it can be horrible. I don't know if they're short staffed or what. But there are times (we go there all the time) when the waitperson disappears and you are basically left to fend for yourself. This time it was good but the time before that was horrible. No service. Cold food! We always hope for the best and usually get it!

At first I was a little upset to hear that during the time, their brick oven was not working and pizza was not being served that evening. However, my girlfriend and I ended up ordering the steak and the veal with an appetizer of ravioli. Everything was AMAZING! After eating the flavorful appetizer we knew the main course was going to be amazing. AND IT WAS! I would definitely go again because of the service, ambience, and great food. 5/5

I frequent this restaurant quite often and it's usually pretty good. This Mother's Day I came with my mother and grandmother and the service was absolutely horrible. The waitress disappeared for a half hour at a time, got the order wrong and was just generally inhospitable. If you are going to be open on Mother's Day you can't just use the holiday as an excuse for poor service and expect your guests to understand. Very disappointed.

The lovely outdoor patio with trees, plants and birds was a beautiful setting for Mothers' Day brunch. Unfortunately, the wait staff was one of the worst I've ever experienced in the city. We were seated quickly, and then ignored for 10 minutes before they brought over 2 menus (for a party of 4). We were then ignored for another 5 minutes until the waiter came over to take our order, with 2 people still not having menus. Requests for syrup, pepper, and butter were accomplished by walking up to the hostess stand and waiting until a server finally paid attention. While the brunch dishes were satisfactory, we will never ever recommend this establishment to friends after this abysmal experience.

We had reservations at La Bottega and another nearby restaurant that was recommended to us -- Crispo. Both menus looked amazing. However, we decided upon La Bottega, and we were truly happy with our choice. The ambiance late at night was perfect, and the place was hopping with a high-energy modern flair. The food was indeed the very best part. The carpaccio appetizer was light and outstanding, my daughter's funghi pizza was baked to perfection, my mom's healthy pasta dish was enjoyed immensely and was packed with veggies. My tagliatelle bolognese was homemade and most probably the best I've ever eaten. After a trip to Italy last month, I was craving that dish, and I would say it may have been tastier than the meal I had abroad.

While the food and atmosphere are great, the service is underwhelming. We were neglected by our waitress from the moment we placed our order until we left. The hostess was kind enough to step in and help us order drinks, after she noticed that the waitress hadn't replenished our wine or cocktails from before the appetizers were served. When this happened repeatedly, we asked for the manager. Tenzin wasn't empathetic in any way, or helpful. He seemed to not care at all. Even the delicious white pizza cannot make up for the awful time we had on Friday. I suggest they get better management. If the top staff cares and instills that in the waitstaff, it could get better. One would hope...

The best part of the dining experience was the bread for the table. The mixed drinks were imbalanced and unpleasant, and the service, though friendly, was non-existant/confusing. I received a wrong drink and then all of our utensils and side plates were cleared when the main course arrived, so we sat without utensils for 5+ minutes just staring at our cooling food. There are plenty of other places in NYC that serve comparable food with better service and better less expensive "mixology" drinks.
