I recently ate at LaBocca with my wife for lunch. The restaurant was quiet and cozy. It was a Saturday afternoon, so I didn't expect a crowd. I like it that way. The bread and complimentary eggplant companata to start, was delicious. I ordered the Mussels in a marinara sauce that was spicy and delicious. My wife had the calamari, which was light and fluffy, and delicious. For entree's, I had the linguine with manila clams(a favorite of mine), again, no complaints. My wife had chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach. She enjoyed it also. We took dessert to go, and enjoyed it at home. Overall, a nice experience, and being that we live right around the corner, we will return to LaBocca.

I've enjoyed La Bocca four or five times in more than a decade since I discovered this little gem off the main drag in WP. The food is always very good and priced about right for where it should be. The wine list is deep, particularly for Italian wines, and very reasonably priced. Whereas our dining experience is always excellent, the one area I wish they would get more consistent is service, which has varied from time to time. On earlier visits, we've had very attentive wait-staff with the owner stopping by to check in once or twice. Last weekend, our waitress was clearly inexperienced, which drew out the meal to almost 3 hours. If they can get this right, the place would be on the top of my list.

Pleasantly surprised is an understatement. If this restaurant were on Mamaroneck Avenue - or in NYC - it would be renown. But because of its low key location and timid atmosphere, the locals are keeping this hidden gem just that. Do yourself a favor, don't have lunch before you go for dinner. I will return.

We were 6 adult Siblings and Cousins with Spouses gathering from afar so I requested a table for 12, same day, via Open Table for Italian Dinner. We had never visited La Bocca before but we're all very pleased. The restaurant was cozy and ambiance warm; service and food were great. Staff were very accommodating of our "Family Reunion" need to move around to schmooze and photograph and we did not feel rushed. Overall, it was a great experience.

To be fair, it was World Cup time, but the predominantly male crowd was not especially interested. It was loud, crowded, and the waiter seemed to be eager to rush us through our meal. The food was good enough but over prized.

Have been dining at this restaurant for years. The food is excellent and the chef and service are welcoming, competent and friendly. It's a very versatile space and they manage to be a wonderful place for a romantic dinner, a family dinner or to go with a group. The prices are reasonable, especially in light of the quality of the food and they will gladly accomodate special requests. The Chicken Scarpariello is amazing and the Montepulciano by the glass is lovely and a good value. Try it, it will quickly become a favorite!

I took my wife here for Mother's Day. It reminded us of our trip to Italy a few summers ago - we loved it. Colorful but tasteful decor, small enough to be intimate, but not crowded. Excellent appetizers, fish, and tiramisu. The standout was black pasta with lobster sauce, which, to our surprise and delight, came with half a small lobster. We'll be back.

We always find La Bocca a tasty and reasonably priced dinner in downtown WP. Reviews tend not to jibe with our experience. On Saturday, three of the the four of us had special entrees, and we shared three special appetizers. We all thought the preparations were yummy, although at $35 each for the entrees, about $7 to $10 too pricey. I would have felt better in the mid- to high- 20's.

very poor. the waiter did not look happy that we were there and he had to take care of us. i asked for a second basket of bread for the table and never received it. entree portions rather small. we left hungry and went home and had cookies! we were handed the regular menu and did not receive the restaurant week menu until we asked for it. the restaurant was very noisy and crowded. they scheduled a wine tasting during restaurant week thus making the rather small restaurant very crowded and very noisy. finally, we think we were over charged. we were with another couple who picked up the checked and we think we might have been charged an extra 20% tip, but hard to check out when someone else is picking up the tab

I had a late lunch in this fantastic restaurant and can't believe I waited so long to try it. I felt like I was in Italy on vacation. The TV at the bar was showing Italian language news, and as a solo diner, the owner came and sat at my table to chat with me for about 5 minutes. Then he brought little samples of things I hadn't ordered just to let me taste them. The food was delicious - the best I've had in a while. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the decor was appealing. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I know I'll be returning.

La Bocca was having a major party and had lots of people at the bar talking very loudly. They had allocated only two tables for non-party customers, right next to the bar, and we had to scream to hear each other over the din. They could have moved the party folks farther away but, despite our requesting that several times, they did nothing to make our dining experience tolerable. Then, only one hour and ten minutes into our dinner, just as the party people sat down and we could finally talk in a normal fashion, they had other customers lined up at the bar, waiting to be seated. The owner, a most ungracious gentleman, came over to us and said that he needed our table. In 50 years of dining, I've never been treated so rudely.

If your regular chef was in the kitchen that night, cut your losses and close up now.
