It is a quaint room only enough room for about 47 guests. The atmosphere is great. The chef and manager frequently came over to check on us. The trading with choice of steak got 7 people to agree on 1 thing "the food is great here" steaks were great cuts cooked to perfection. The housegnochi was with the 857 mile motorcycle ride the day before. The sweetbreads were a large offering, grilled perfectly, with only a lemon wedge to add more flavor; the slow-cooked silver-lined steak was a tad dry, tasted without the sauces or sea salt just the way beef ribs do. Next time, a rib-eye steak. Heart of palm salad, gnocchi, fried Brussells sprouts, garlic fries, chorizo, provaleta...and SKIRT STEAK. I have sent several people to LaBoca with a promise to refund their money if they don't like the skirt steak. It may not be something you'd normally order, but you really should. It is melt in your mouth delicious and the leftovers are great the next morning with fried eggs and grits. Creamy mashed potatoes baked in a cast-iron skillet with melted cheese on top. Fresh grilled asparagus. Everything was delicious. They had a nice wine selection to complement the meal as well. Steaks and Malbec definitely matched our expectations after all the good things we'd heard about La Boca. Beef was better than at some of the large chain steak houses and prices much more reasonable. Sides are well sized to share (mash potatoes will go 4 ways!). Will definitely return next time we're in the city.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen we arrived at 5:30 weWhen we arrived at 5:30 we were the first to enter. I had a reservation. I asked for a table on the left side of the bar as they have large groups on the right side and it get very loud and hard to talk. There was no one else in the resturant at the time but they would not give me a table on the side I wanted but gave me one up by the front and said it would be ok there.
About 15 minutes after we arrived a large group arrived and they converted the two tables next to us for them and we could barely hear ourselves talk.
This is the second time this has happened to me at Laboca.
