Diner Reviews
  • "We love La Boca for the best steak in New Orleans. We had the tasting menu, and every item was delicious. Each cut of steak was exactly as described, perfectly cooked. The waiter was as knowledgeable about steak as the somalier was about wine."

  • "Great location with wonderful Ambiance. The food was incredible. The steaks are so flavorful and large portions. A "must try' is the coconut amaretto ice cream cake. A completely enjoyable experience!"

  • "I have been to La Boca 4 or 5 times and everything is always perfect. The food and service are complimentary to each other. If you have not been, make your reservation now. Treat yourself to the best steak in New Orleans."

  • "Overall, everything was wonderful. We went for our anniversary and were not disappointed. We recommend it highly and will return."

  • "Had the organic ribeye and it was wonderful. The arugula salad was outstanding. A little loud but that is part of the experience. Will certainly go back when we are in the mood for a steak."

  • "Enjoyed it for a change of pace from a "typical" steak place. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was interesting to see the different cuts not usually on local menus. I still prefer Mr. John's for a filet mignon and unlikely to head back any time soon, but I am glad we tried it."

  • "I thought the restaurant would be bigger. Overall the food was excellent and so was the wait staff. It was VERY loud. There was a group of about 10 older adults sitting next to us all of which were intoxicated. Some of the ladies were pulling their breast out and management did not tell them anything. Very inappropriate. There was a group of about 10 older adults sitting next to us all of which were intoxicated. • "Enjoyed the appetizers, entrees and deserts here! It was our 1st time here, so we hadn't been to the old location. The waitress was probably the worst part of our dining experience here! The overall service was attentive, but she lacked the refinement you would expect at an upscale steak restaurant! The skirt steak was excellent, along with the grilled asparagus and fries! I'd pass on the fried brussels......they should cook them another way because I love them as a vegetable! I will go back because the food was really good! Try the sauces they give to go with the steak......the horse radish and green sauce made the skirt steak sing! Terrific together!!! Also, the desert sampler was tasty and generous!"

  • "Wonderful place to experience some unique steaks...cooked to perfection and an expansive choices of wines to go along with dinner! New location is much improved over the dungeon! Only regret is that I only get to New Orleans once every few years!"

  • "New location is awesome. Same great food. Seasonal arugula salad, provoleta, New York Strip and fries. Can't wait until next time."

  • "Food was amazing as always. The waitress was one of the worst waitresses I've ever had... Anywhere. The maitre'd stepped in to help her after we got out food and I hope he gets a cut of the tip I left. New location is bigger and a whole lot noisier. Will go back and pray I don't get the same waitress."

  • "The food screams, the service can be heard and the bar speaks to you. Love the new location but it is definetly a loud loud space. The noise level was out of control in a bad way. Everything else was loud in a good way."

  • "STEAK WAS VERY GOOD. SALAD WAS VERY GOOD. ONE OUT OF TWO SIDES WAS VERY GOOD. (SKIP THE "FLASH-FRIED" BRUSSELS SPROUTS.) SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT; ATTENTIVE WITHOUT HOVERING. WILL BE BACK. FIRST VISIT TO LA BOCA AT NEW LOCATION. GREAT LOOKING BAR. WANTED A TANQUERAY & TONIC. THEY DON'T HAVE TANQUERAY . TRIED FOR AN OLD NEW ORLEANS AMBER RUM; DON'T HAVE THAT. TRIED FOR A MYERS RUM; DON'T HAVE THAT. TRIED FOR A DEWARS; DON'T HAVE THAT. SETTLED FOR ARGENTINIAN BEER. FINE. STEAK WAS VERY GOOD. SERVER WAS GREAT. WILL BE BACK AFTER I RECON THE BAR! 7"

  • "Love the Garlic fries, along with the selection of meats. Menu was diverse enough to accommodate non eating meat eaters for Lent. Layout was comfortable and was not too crowded, keeping the sound level moderate. Valet parking was convenient."

  • "Four of us tried the tasting dinner with Hangar Steaks and we were blown away by the courses that hit our table, and the quality of what was set in front of us. The beef was First-Class and the accompaniments (especially the garlic-parmesan shoestring potatoes) were sufficient to have each of us groaning from having ingested it all...seemingly leaving no room for dessert. However, the flourless chocolate cake was decadent, as was the Dulce de Leche Crepe. Service was exemplary and engaging. A great experience that I will happily recommend."

  • "Best meal in New Orleans! Which is hard, because I had so many amazing meals here. The skirt steak is so rich, the best tasting steak in memory. It was enormous (consider sharing). Fries and grilled asparagus also excellent."

  • "This restaurant came recommended from a friend of a friend, and I am. SO glad we decided to go. The steaks were perfect, the flash fried brussel sprouts were great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Make a reservation, because it fills up fast!"

  • "Each dish on La Boca's small menu is perfectly executed. We've been here a few times, and the high-quality steaks are always cooked as ordered. The grilled provoletta cheese appetizer is filling-- almost overkill at the beginning of a meal and probably better for four people. The flash-fried brussels sprouts are tender, with a very light batter. There's a nice selection of Malbec wine on their list. We've had the full-bodied Tritono twice, decanted at the table. La Boca is probably the only place in New Orleans that serves it."

  • "If you go to New Orleans and not eat here you sadly missed out. I had a better meal here then the Ruth Chris we ate at down the block. Empanadas, Steak, Salad, and wine were to die for. I would visit New Orleans again just to eat here. The service was top notch. Very knowledgeably on where their meat comes from and their wine. My glass was never empty the server was on top of everything. Prices are great for the quality of food. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!!!"

  • "I made a reservation a few hours ahead of time, got there and got seated right by the register and the entrance door which I felt it was by default or probably because I didn't look like a baller or I wasn't a regular plus I was seated right next to another table which one of the other guest could of elbow me while he was eating. I had better steak at Bravos. I was dissapointed with the service and the steak. Then again steaks are not an Argentinian dish. The empanadas were amazing. Great wine list but I wasn't offered any, even after I tasted an Uruguayan wine they had and told em I liked a lot. The crepes with condensed milk were amazing!"

  • "Once again this place has impressed me. La Boca has become one of those places where you just know you're always going to get an excellent steak. This made my fifth visit and I'll continue to come!!!!"

  • "I had booked a reservation for my husband's birthday 3 weeks in advance, but when we got to the restaurant we were seated at a table about 3 feet from the restrooms. We had passed several tables that were empty and when we asked if we could move, we were told "no" that those tables were reserved. ??? The hostess, Daisy, was very condescending and rude. Her attitude so upset us, that when we looked at the menu, which is very expensive, and realized that we would be giving several hundred dollars to be treated so disrespectfully, we decided to leave. As we were leaving the manager came over and proceeded to be as condescending, telling us that he had plenty of people waiting for a reservation. He argued with us in public. Terrible experience."

  • "This Argentinian steak house is so serious about their steak - many different cuts from only the best ranches. Our group had the Skirt Steak, Flank Steak and bone-in Filet. Each one was prepared differently to suit the characteristics of the cut, each one was a work of art, cooked to perfection, and absolutely wonderful. Generous portions-take my word, you will eat every bite without a moment of regret. We have been to many high-end steak houses-this one truly tops the list. Each meal is better than a work of art-more like magic. Dessert was coconut amaretto ice cream cake that was grand in size and flavor. Perfect ending to an amazing meal. Excellent, well informed wait staff who know both the food and the wine list very well."

  • "Cozy place that has a neighborhood pub feel with high end food. I would compare this to any steak house around and the local flavor takes it over the finish line."

  • "I travel for work and often entertain clients. I've been to Steakhouses bit and small. LaBoca is one of the best I've seen. They procure their grass fed beef from multiple farms based on the cut of steak. For example if the Filet Mignon Farm is backordered they temporarily take it Filet off the menu. Standards! If you're in New Orleans get off Bourbon Street and treat yourself to LoBoca"

  • "We had a group of 14 and everyone left completely stuff! The tasting menu is an excellent experience with a large group. Our waitress and her staff brought one great dish after another; the only choice I had to make was which cut of steak I wanted ( and they made it difficult Kobe, rib eye, filet, hanger, bone in filet). If you can't decide - ask Ricky he is very knowledgeable and can explain each cut of meat. My steak was absolutely delicious (Kobe) and my wife had the hanger which was even better. La Boca is now my TOP steak restaurant."

  • "After a very rude interaction with the front of house at Peche (why is their staff always so weird?!) we cancelled our table and went over to La Boca. I work late and it irks me when restaurants accept reservations at such late hours but then act put out when you show for them. If you're unwilling to serve me at 11pm, do not offer an 11pm reservation slot. La Boca is not this way, they embraced us with loving arms and quickly quashed our woes. The food, as always was excellent paired with generous wine pours and friendly service. It really turned my night around and considering I work in high end private event planning in the future I will send all my clients to La Boca or Root where they are so friendly. Thanks, steakhouse!"

  • "Fantastic Argentinian style steaks, yet not the ordinary kinds, and the bar makes a great "Pisco" cocktail. Wine list is well thought out, plus they were keen to advise and provide samples to ensure liking."

  • "I've been going to La Boca for years and they never let me down. The only problem this time was after all the years I've been going there they removed two of the most popular menu items. The chicken empanadas and corn pie. They were not replaced with something that was as delicious. I asked my server why they took off the items she said she was sorry and that she receives many complaints asking for the removed menu items back. I love La Boca their cuts of beef are never a let down but the missing favorite menu items was such a disappointment. I won't be returning until they put the corn pie and chicken empanadas back on the menu. You can a great steak at many places but what set La Boca apart were the unique appitiezers and sides."

  • "After the tasting menu, we left full and very happy! Perfect portions, and the steak was one of the best I have ever had! The service was perfect, and it had a nice restaurant feel, without being stuffy. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The Chef's tasting menu is the route we took. My husband and I were dining with our 13 year old & 10 year old. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed each course. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The consensus was that the American Kobe was the favorite."
