Diner Reviews
  • "Beautiful new place, great decor, and the food seemed even better than before, if thats possible!! Noise level was off the charts!! Don't understand why owners build new places and don't sound proof!! Still worth going to eat and drink, just prepare to talk LOUD!!"

  • "Delicious feed me menu with choice if main entree meat cut!!"

  • "Best food and wine in NOLA. Get the hangar steak and brussel sprouts."

  • "La Boca is a great example of an Argentinian steakhouse. I started with the sweetbreads, my wife had the empanadas both were flawless. The wine was fantastic as well as our main course: hanger steak and sirloin both cooked and seasoned to perfection. If you want and appreciate a well grilled steak, don't pass on this place. The service from both the wait staff and manager was exceptional."

  • "I ordered the hanger steak rare (the waitress told me was the BEST one to get rare.) I was excited. But then my hanger steak came out and it was SO SALTY. (I LOVE salt.) I took another bite, hoping for less salt, but still it was like eating a salt lick. I reluctantly sent it back. The waitress was very sweet, apologized and offered to get me another one with less salt. But then the manager came over. He could not have been more condescending or rude. He told me he tried the steak and that's just how it's supposed to taste. The only redeeming moment was when another waiter walked up and said, "I tasted it, too. It was WAY too salty." We will sadly not return to La Boca. And we will be sure to tell ALL our friends about our experience."

  • "The food was great, probably one of the best meals that I have ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly and to die for. My date and I sat along the windows facing Tchoup St. This area was very uncomfortable and extremely hot, sue to poorly designed ductwork with no air circulating at the windows where there is the most heat gain. Our server was alright but nothing special. Food was amazing though."

  • "This was the first time I've been to the new location on Tchoupitoulas, and the place is great. More spacious than the previous location, and the food is just as good, or better, than before. My wife and I both really enjoyed our meals and the overall service and vibe in the place. We'll definitely be back again and highly recommend it to others."

  • "I am an enormous La Boca fan. The service is always amazing! The manager knows the wine list thoroughly and always recommends a delectable wine for our dinner based on my preferences obtained through asking questions. Cannot go wrong with the Provoleta nor Empanadas. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the sides are heavenly. Thank you for a great birthday and an amazing dining experience."

  • "Our food was very good and would recommend. New York stip and ribeye perfect. Filet was way to salty!! Couldn't enjoy salty and I love salt. Asked manager about it and was rude and said we season all if our steaks the same. We still took our time. But they rush you. Im assuming cause small place and they want to turn tables quickly. We are are spenfing that kind if miney they ahould not rush you! Waiters taking your plates away without asking with food still on your plate. That was very aggrevating. The manager was not very friendly either."

  • "Excellent meal. Hearts of Palm salad was superb. Grass fed bone in filet was cooked perfectly. Good options for Paleo diet folks. Only complaint was that it's loud but not so much that can't hear people at your table. Lots of hard surfaces. Seems to be an ongoing issue at restaurants in New Orleans. I will go back."

  • "We are local New Orleanians, who eat out many times per month, visited La Boca for the first time on Thursday night, with another couple. The restaurant was busy, but the service was excellent and the food was prompt and very good. The only two negative comments is that the restaurant is very noisy, which makes it a little difficult to hear at times (but many other restaurants in Nola are the same) and one of the steaks that we ordered was overcooked, but we selected not to send it back due to time. We will return to this restaurant again."

  • "Excellent steaks, a bit noisy, very good service. Market prices for beef are in line with the other upscale places in town."

  • "I never get tired of this place or the chimchurri! Best steakhouse in the city!"

  • "I had the hanger, my wife the skirt with skin on, my daughter the regular skirt. All delicious, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I love the new space."

  • "We take my uncle out for Father's Day and he is a very particular person about his food. Food was excellent, service was beyond compare. It was a great experience except we could not hear each other at all due to the noise level, every glass clink, every other conversation,EVERYTHING! I would have loved if there was something to suck up the noise pollution."

  • "My partner & I really enjoyed our meal at La Boca. Standout items were the beef skewers, the french fries “La Boca”, and the house special steak, prepared with a lime marinade and served with fresh avocado on the side. The sommelier was very engaging and knowledgeable."

  • "This was my first time to the new location. The food is always excellent and even though it was a bit loud in the restaurant, it didn't take away from the evening. I have been to this restaurant several times and it is one of my favorites in the city."

  • "We are fans of Argentinian steakhouses and wanted to try this place that came recommended. All of the cuts of meat were perfectly prepared and very tender. The chorizo sausage was delicious. The mashed potatoes side was really great too. "

  • "Much too noisy. Portions, even for a steak house too large. Disappointed as three years ago had enjoyed a meal here,"
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "There are not many choices of variety at this restaurant and had an unpleasant experience with the manager after my fiance paid for dinner and they brought the card back sliced in half and pretended to not know anything about it. Rude."

  • "We have ate here several times. It is our favorite steak house in NOLA! We will be back!"

  • "We ate here for my birthday dinner and had the chefs tasting menu. Everything was incredible and was a real value for the amount of food you get. The wine list was amazing as well and the steaks were perfectly cooked. Service was also incredible!"

  • "We had reservations for 4 people. We arrived and the interior decor had loads of ambiance. Brick walls, open ceilings, metal half moon bar... We opted for the tasting dinner. You picked your own steak. Every, I mean every dish that came as part of this menu was amazing beyond belief! The steaks, I ordered the NY Strip, two ordered the Kobe Steaks were the best ever! Flavorful, cooked to perfection! I travel the world for business, and have eaten at some of the finest restaurants. I put La Boca at the very top! I will be back every trip to New Orleans!"

  • "This is a solid steakhouse with surprisingly reasonable prices for the quality of product you get. Between three people, two apps, two sides and three entrees, three drinks, and desert wine we all paid circa $70 with tip. My only complaint is that the time between the apps and the entrees took entirely too long. We had three steaks, one rare, one mid rare and one mid well. I understand it takes a while to cook the mid well steak but it shouldn't take 30 minutes given how much the experience cost. I lost my appetite and things to talk about with my company. A solid restaurant should top at most 12 minutes between ticket re-fires. Other than that, I work food industry and I understand those things happen when accidents happen. I would go back"

  • "The new location take La Boca to a new level. Already blessed with great food and wine on Fulton Street, now in their new location, formerly Amano, LaBoca now adds attentive thoughtful and yet relaxed service with a sexy new look. Don't miss this! But make a reservation as they are hoping! And ask Rickilane to choose you the perfect red to go with your steak...."

  • "My wife and I visit New Orleans once a year(from Houston) and dining at LaBoca is the the highlight of our trip because the ribeye is the best steak we have ever eaten. That's compared to Vic and Anthony's, Ruth Chris, Perry's, Texas steakhouse, churrascos... The staff is uber friendly from the valet staff to the manager and everyone in between, expect a great dining experience. "
    Dined on 5/15/2014
  • "Steak quality questionable and service extremely rude and unprofessional. Avoid this unless you like paying high prices for a low quality experience. You'll fare much better at Ruth's Chris if you're looking for great beef and great service."

  • "They have the biggest and most flavor of any steaks I've eaten. "

  • "I took my daughter and her friend here for dinner and it was a great dining experience. Being from New York City I was wondering if the steaks here would be as good as at home and it definitely was. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the service was great. I will definitely go back next time I am in NOLA. I would recommend making a reservation early. I tried to get in last year at the last minute and couldn't get in. "

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at La Boca. We did the chef tasting menu, 4 out of 5 of us had different meats, all delicious. Enjoyed the different sauces and especially the zucchini/pesto bruchetta appetizers. All of our meats were cooked to our specifications. Wine was great with our steaks. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu."
