La Biblioteca Denver

Steps from the Millennium Bridge in the heart of Denver’s RiverFront Park neighborhood, La Biblioteca comes to Denver by way of internationally-recognized Chef Richard Sandoval. Modeled after Chef's esteemed New York City concept, "the Library of Tequila," serves up a collection of his personal favorite tequila selections and a menu of Latin-Asian chef inspired cuisine ranging from sushi, wok dishes to carefully-curated small plates, tacos, and salads.

Boasting one of the largest collections of tequilas, mezcals, and agave spirits in the nation, with over 350 to choose from, La Biblioteca is intimate, with a hint of mystery. Bottles align the walls.

  • "Great tappas and wines...pretty darn authentic. Service was excellent...going back again and it's a 50 mile drive to get there."

  • "I went with 2 others and we got a few tapas that could barely fit on our table, although they were all very tasty. unfortunately they were also out of the first two beers I ordered off of their menu :( would definitely give it another try"

  • "Thought we would try another Sandoval restaurant, since I love Zengo, a big mistake! Service horrible, Had to get the manager to serve us after 20 minutes of no service. Loud space, odds having a television in the bar, distracting diners. Tapas cheese plate and lamb stew were top notch, but atmosphere & poor service, will prevent us from returning."

  • "skipped dinner because appetizer and salad took too long"

  • "nice spot, good food and service. Only negative is why they allow animals in their restaurant."

  • "I took a friend there on Saturday night visiting from California and we had a blast! The patron peppers, olives, frittata & shrimp made for a perfect dinner! The highlight though was the wine that our waiter suggested "Luberri 'Orlegi' Tempranillo! OMG! Best Tempranillo I've ever tasted!!!! Love everything about Al Lado!!!!"

  • "First time here, we loved it! Unique small plates, we have four of them, all very tasty and nicely presented. The small plates are perfect for two people, we also had a "large" plate of the salmon which was excellent. Service was spot-on, not too attentive but always there when you needed something or wanted to order more small plates. Great place to just take your time and order what and whenever you want. PLUS, they have wine on tap, way to go Al Lado!"

  • "Probably great if you are drinking wine but since I am pregnant, that was not an option. So instead we ordered about four different things from the menu and each course was increasingly disappointing. We ended up grabbing drive thru on the way home."

  • "We had a wonderful bar tender. All the staff was Great. The Dates with Bacon, fresh salad, salmon And flatbread made a filling meal for 2. Try this Casual place."

  • "Al Lado is a great hidden gem that's not too busy so it's great to have a private conversation with friends or bring a whole big group! Great location too!"

  • "I was happy to have found a place that would accommodate a large group at such short notice. However, the service by our server left a lot to be desired. He was only half attentive and didn't answer many questions about the menu. He acted a bit elite-ist, snooty -- especially if we didn't know how to pronounce some of the menu items correctly (it's a Spanish Tapas bar). The food came out with weird timing - like a grilled pork skewer before a vegetarian flat bread pizza. The dishes were all pretty good, but nothing to go crazy over. The best thing we had was the Bacon Wrapped Dates and Lamb Meat Balls. Great wine list is a major plus! The manager provided better service than our server! Overall it's a meh for me. I could go back or not."

  • "Al Lado is a hidden treasure in Riverfront Park, just behind Zengo. The Spanish tapas menu is excellent and perfect for sharing, and the happy hour pricing makes for an affordable treat. The Deviled Eggs w/yellowfin tuna are delicious, and the Chorizo & Clams Cazuela makes for an odd but tasty pairing. Happy Hour has creative wines by the glass, and they have a great Spanish/South American wine list (one of the best selections of Rias Baixas Albarino in Denver). Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday they offer 50% off ALL bottles of wine, a bargain that puts the bottle price barely above liquor store prices, give or take a few bucks. Service was perfect, with just enough attention to make you glad you came, while still giving you privacy."

  • "We went during happy hour and had great cocktails and appetizers! Good HH prices and fair portion sizes. I would go back."

  • "very limited food menu... couple of items were very tasty, and a couple were blah. wines were pricey"

  • "Very relaxing great food, enjoyed ever bit. If only we didn't have to wait almost 20 minutes for our wine or any beverage to be served. Our food arrived before the wine, and since food and wine paring is important to us it was a disappointment"

  • "I felt the food was mediocre at best. The small plates were VERY small and the food was more like overpriced appetizers. All of us agreed the food was a disappointment but the atmosphere was good and it allowed for our group of 7 to hear each other well."

  • "We had such a great experience and wil definitely go back for their happy hour specials. I highly recommend going in a group of six so you can sample the "whole shebang"!"
    Dined on 5/4/2013
  • "I was able to reserve a table for 8. They set us up front by the window. Ordering for 6-8 is easy, they have an option to order the whole menu! Saves decision time and allows for conversation. The wine we had was excellent, it was a Spanish blend. Nice atmosphere. I'll go back."

  • "The tapas were great. We tried going here 3 times before we actually were able to get in. The first time the doors were locked and no one there. The second time doors were locked and staff inside but wouldn't answer the door. You should remove the sign that says you are open from 5 forward if you're not going to be open."
