It is worth the drive to find this European style restaurant in the woods of Leelanau County. It has a quiet, old world decor(not pretentious but elegant). The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. This is fine dining in the traditional style (all the extra silver, formal service, etc.) and the staff are genuine and warm, not erudite. The food is authentic French. The menu is small but not repetitive. Extensive wine list. Pressed coffee. Desserts are authentic and rich. Every detail is taken care of. Lovely presentation. I would only wish the menu changed more often, we have tried every dish. Every meal was well prepared and presented and the taste was superb. The portions were generous, to the point where we could not order from the delicious sounding dessert menu. The service was great - always there when needed, but never hovering. All in all, a fine experience and we will be back. Even the trip to get there was a pleasure.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
