The food was super as was the service. 5 star dining, but you didn't have to dress for the 5 star food. Clothing attire was casual to dressy and that made the ambience of the restaurant eclectic with the look. Really great approach to eating wonderful food. My wife and I have traveled the world as performers and have eaten in many of the famous restaurants and this is one of hidden gems in Michigan that everyone should check out! This is a must if you are in the area! THank you for a GREAT evening! I have eaten here many times and I am never disappointed. The food is fantastic and there are always great specials to choose from. The wine list is very good. The food is always excellent, and Andrea our server gave us just the right amount of service and privacy. It's our first time back in quite a while. I had a great Morel mushroom app and a very nice house salad that I thought were the highlight of the meal. The Lamb Osso Bocco was a little grizzly and the the flavors were not great. It is worth the drive to find this European style restaurant in the woods of Leelanau County. It has a quiet, old world decor(not pretentious but elegant). The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. This is fine dining in the traditional style (all the extra silver, formal service, etc.) and the staff are genuine and warm, not erudite. The food is authentic French. The menu is small but not repetitive. Extensive wine list. Pressed coffee. Desserts are authentic and rich. Every detail is taken care of. Lovely presentation. I would only wish the menu changed more often, we have tried every dish. There are few like this left, no fads,just deep quality.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at La Beccase,First time at La Beccase, our group of four was initially concerned about the limited menu, but we found great variety in the offerings. Every meal was well prepared and presented and the taste was superb. The portions were generous, to the point where we could not order from the delicious sounding dessert menu. The service was great - always there when needed, but never hovering. All in all, a fine experience and we will be back. Even the trip to get there was a pleasure.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
