Diner Reviews
  • "Recently, I had an early morning breakfast (8AM), with a friend, before heading to work. I have dined at La Baguette many times for lunch and/or dinner. La Baguette in the morning, is a wonderful way to begin the work day, if you are able. Our server was solicitous and timely. Orange juice was fresh and the coffee, clearly, just made. My friend and I had my favorite, "The Bag of Two"…2 eggs however you want them, two large pancakes and I chose fresh fruit instead of a breakfast meat. I also splurged and purchased a little bottle, warmed, of maple syrup, instead of the house syrup (which is also good). It was a great start to a very busy day. We were "in and out" in an hour, feeling refreshed, happy and ready to start our work days."

  • "We had a last minute change and dropped in for dinner. The service was excellent and the food was good. The rainbow trout was cooked perfectly and each course had an excellent presentation. Great desserts."

  • "We had a pleasant evening at La Baguette. For the most part, the food was good. The baked brie appetizer was especially good. The wine was good, but I was very surprised that the restaurant policy was that people could not taste a small amount of an unfamiliar wine that they were considering. In most good restaurants in OKC that is part of the service you would expect. Their explanation was that "people took advantage of the policy" when they used to offer a small taste before ordering."

  • "Great breakfast! Great Service! Neat little market area too."

  • "This past weekend I enjoyed lunch with a dear friend that I had not seen in a while. We both ate the small plate (chicken crepes), which is a full, small dinner with salad and ratatouille. We split a dessert, my favorite, the carmel chocolate cake coated with fresh chocolate chips. I couldn't believe my luck- that La B. had it by the slice because they often don't. I also took a slice home-just finished eating it as I write this review! Our waiter, a woman, was very attentive and another waiter who has waited on me in the past, stopped for a brief minute to say "hello" and chat. Our server was lovely and neither my friend nor I had any complaints. It was a lovely afternoon for dining and conversation at one of my favorite restaurants!"

  • "Had another great meal with excellent service is always at La baguette. If you haven't tried it the muscles with French fries are terrific."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a dinner at La Baguette. We've been coming here since it was takeout only before we were married. Our dinner was perfectly cooked and and the service was outstanding. We had the smoked salmon appetizer with trout for me and steak for my husband. I love the option to get a smaller size dinner and took advantage of that. I hope we can celebrate our 50th anniversary here as well!"

  • "I have dined here before. It has always been great. This was a time when they have muscle as a special. The waiter suggested french fries on the muscles. It didn't sound great but it was fantastic. I would suggest you try it. Food and service as always were terrific."

  • "My husband and I wanted to try a new resteraunt so we picked LaBaguette through open table. They sat us at a table that obviously was not meant to be there. We felt like we were in the way the whole time. We were place next to a group that had small children, the wait staff had a hard time getting around us and we were in the path to the bathroom. It took forever to get our food, we barely saw our waitress and we were there way too long because of this. Don't get me wrong the food was great but that was the only thing great about it, and the deseart. I think you had to be a regular person there to get noticed. It seemed to be a spot for regular customers and not for people that wanted to try something new. Food was good. Outsider no"

  • "The service was so slow, couldn't get enough set-ups or water. Took forever to get order taken, forever to get food. Waiter brought the wrong order to the table. We asked for extra capers for smoked salmon, and it didn't come until the salmon was almost gone. The home fries were seconds from being burned beyond edible. Wait staff was polite, but too slow. The prices would require that the food and service be outstanding...it definitely was not. "

  • "It is rare for everything to be so outstanding at any restaurant. Usually one or both of us has at least one course that is "ok". The Brie with fruit, honey and pecans was as good as it sounds. My husband had Stuffed Salmon and, although steak is rarely my first choice, I am delighted that I decided to try the Steak Portofino. We knew the dessert would be delicious, so took home part of the Brie and filet. Stephanie, was the best kind of server. Knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. She unobtrusively provided everything we needed before we asked. But when my husband struck up a conversation with her, she was also ready to go that direction and add fun to an outstanding meal."

  • "I sort of wonder if La Baguette hasn't seen some of its last days. We were there on a Friday and the restaurant was half full. After tasting the food and getting a look at wine prices (cheapest was $7 for house plonk; most was $12-$14 per glass), I'm not surprised. The best part of my meal was the gazpacho. Others at the table had salmon (evening special) and chicken confit and said that the food was good...though the confit came 20 minutes after the rest of the food was delivered because the waitress forgot to turn in the order. I don't think, however, that I will come again to the restaurant in the evening and I would not recommend it to any one. It's fine for brunch."

  • "We have been wanting to try this place for awhile. It was just great. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, the bakery has amazing cakes and candies that you can just walk in and buy as well it's also where they get the desserts if you order one. Overall, just a great dining experience."

  • "My husband's filet was incredible, and my daughter's salmon was good. My chicken was a little dry though. I really like how you can order petit versions of most entrees. We loved our waiter!!"

  • "There was nothing totally bad, there are just enough great restaurants in the city to go to so that I NEVER have to go here again. Service was very poor and there was an attitude that would have been ok if the food had been even decent. Very limited menu of all the same old tired stuff. It had been 10 years since my last visit and now I know why.....and will never return. Good luck with your customer base....better start taking care of them because your days are numbered. SH"

  • "The food, as always was delicious, the wine list was good and the waitstaff was excellent. It was a very busy Saturday night and we had a table for two in a high traffic area--which marred our visit a little. (We had made a reservation several days in advance). However, the solicitous nature of the waiter provided a distraction from the very busy foot traffic going past our table (which was right at the conflux of two dining areas. It was hard to have a private conversation.)"

  • "After my fiancée and I arrived for our 9:30 Valentines night dinner we were seated by the server station which upset her,but after management noticed the concern they moved us to a booth that had already been reserved for 4 others,we really appreciated it and it made her night very enjoyable,it was perfect and we will definitely be back :) thay made our 2014 VALENTINES one to remember ,thanks :)"

  • "Despite booking well in advance our and arriving on time, our table was in the bar and our view was of the usually open kitchen door -- waiters sped by us all evening -- I recommend requesting a table in the dining room or by the window in the bar"

  • "We've been here a few times, and it never seems to fail that the food is amazing. The service, however, is lacking. We've gotten the same waiter multiple times and every time the service becomes poor once it seems he realizes that we are not going to be ordering any alcohol. It's a shame really. This last time, my wife got a steak and it was brought out without a steak knife. We had to flag down a random worker to get one, because our waiter disappeared immediately after dropping off our food. We did not see him, even checking his other tables, for a good ten minutes after receiving our food."

  • "La Baguette is an outstanding French Bistro. The food is high-end French and superb. It has a cozy feel. You can also pay about $60 a person for an amazing meal with wine and dessert."

  • "Waited 35 minutes for food after we ordered; server forgot to offer or bring bread; and we sat there for another 20 minutes after we finished eating waiting for our bill. By that time we were not interested in desert, which was good because no one ever asked us if we wanted desert. We have eaten there before several times without all these problems. I tried to put this comment in the private section, but it was too long."

  • "The food was wonderful, but I think it was the service that made our evening at La Baguette so special. The server was attentive, knowledgeable, and charming and we got some nice attention from Michel Buthion, one of the owners."

  • "Most everyone who dines out has their "go to" place - a place where the quality of food and service and atmosphere and surroundings are so consistent that you almost hate to go anywhere else. La Baguette is that place, especially with all of the "blackboard" specials to keep the variety very alive."

  • "Six of us had a wonderful dinner. The food was enjoyed by all. The waiter kept patting me on the back and just kept putting his hand on my shoulder. I had a sore back and didn't appreciate this at all. Will be back, of course, as we enjoy their food. Will sit with my back to the wall next time - where he can't reach!"

  • "I met a colleague for a midmorning breakfast (meeting) at La Baguette that stretched into the beginning of the lunch hour. The food was excellent and the waitstaff was helpful and did not rush us. I can always rely on the food and service at La Baguette and enjoyed myself immensely, as did my guest."

  • "The server was was exceptional, food was wonderful, the ambiance was enticing. The only complaint we had was seating was rather close quarter's. With it being our anniversary a more intimate table would have been more desirable. However, the overall experience was memorable, snd we'd recommend this bistro to anyone."

  • "We have dined at La Baguette Bistro several times a year over the past several years. The food is always great, we are never disappointed no matter what we order. This is without doubt one of the best places to eat in the entire Metro area. You can pay more but you cannot find better."

  • "Christmas Eve dinner can be a trial at any restaurant. We almost stayed home but decided instead to give this old friend a try. Busy and chaotic - yes - and they were handling it well! Couple of minor glitches in our orders were fixed and the food was predictably delicious. All in all a very nice experience. Started enjoying this place with my father years ago, and it continues to be a really nice choice with selections to satisfy most every palate!"
