We always enjoy dining at La Baguette. The food is always well-prepared and the servers are usually attentive. This recent visit, the food was up to standards, but the service was somewhat slow. The young man serving bread, and the woman tending to our water glasses were very attentive. Perhaps the kitchen was slow this night, but the restaurant was not at all crowded for our 6:30 reservation, and it seemed to take a long time for our food to be served. When it was, everything was delicious! Just not as prompt as usual.

This week, I enjoyed early morning breakfast with a friend. She had the egg white fritata…which I HAD to taste,it looked so good! And I enjoyed my bag of two-two pancakes-two slices of bacon- 2 eggs over easy and fresh fruit in lieu of potatoes. The coffee was freshly brewed and my breakfast was delicious! I love breakfast at La Baguette because the service is great, the food is fresh and made to order, and you can have a good conversation in a quiet environment while enjoying a second or third cup of coffee. Thank you, La Baguette, for a quiet, settled, beginning to an otherwise busy day!

Food was excellent. If you don't mind slow service you will love the food. Waited 30 minutes after being seated for the server to take our order. Literally had to get up and ask him to take our order or we were leaving. Given the amount of time it was taking we all just switched to soup and sandwiches. Still it was a little more than one hour from the time seated before we got our food. One person never received the French Onion soup ordered. When I inquired as to why I was informed that they had run out. We'll we finished the meal without the soup, paid the check and left. Good food but extremely slow service the evening we dined.

La Baguette is my choice when I invite someone special to lunch, I have private business to conduct, I just want to have a great meal, or all of the above. My guest and I enjoyed a delicious, leisurely lunch on Saturday. The restaurant was pleasantly busy and I was very happy to be seated at my favorite booth. The waitstaff never disappoints. Service was timely and unobtrusive and the food was delicious. (I had the small plate rainbow trout. I love the way LB cooks their trout). My guest had a huge burger , which she could hardly finish. We loved our desserts, a creme brûlée (me) and a slice of the black forest cake (my guest). We talked for a long time and enjoyed a leisurely European afternoon in the heart of OKC!

I had the chicken salad. It was awful. I sent it back. Too much mayo, in fact all it was was chicken and mayo. I was so disappointed. I had taken a friend there for her birthday and was very disappointed with the whole experience. The chicken salad must have been bad because I was not charged for it. Dessert was good though !!

Recently, I had an early morning breakfast (8AM), with a friend, before heading to work. I have dined at La Baguette many times for lunch and/or dinner. La Baguette in the morning, is a wonderful way to begin the work day, if you are able. Our server was solicitous and timely. Orange juice was fresh and the coffee, clearly, just made. My friend and I had my favorite, "The Bag of Two"…2 eggs however you want them, two large pancakes and I chose fresh fruit instead of a breakfast meat. I also splurged and purchased a little bottle, warmed, of maple syrup, instead of the house syrup (which is also good). It was a great start to a very busy day. We were "in and out" in an hour, feeling refreshed, happy and ready to start our work days.

    Dined on 8/7/2014
We had a pleasant evening at La Baguette. For the most part, the food was good. The baked brie appetizer was especially good. The wine was good, but I was very surprised that the restaurant policy was that people could not taste a small amount of an unfamiliar wine that they were considering. In most good restaurants in OKC that is part of the service you would expect. Their explanation was that "people took advantage of the policy" when they used to offer a small taste before ordering.

This past weekend I enjoyed lunch with a dear friend that I had not seen in a while. We both ate the small plate (chicken crepes), which is a full, small dinner with salad and ratatouille. We split a dessert, my favorite, the carmel chocolate cake coated with fresh chocolate chips. I couldn't believe my luck- that La B. had it by the slice because they often don't. I also took a slice home-just finished eating it as I write this review! Our waiter, a woman, was very attentive and another waiter who has waited on me in the past, stopped for a brief minute to say "hello" and chat. Our server was lovely and neither my friend nor I had any complaints. It was a lovely afternoon for dining and conversation at one of my favorite restaurants!

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a dinner at La Baguette. We've been coming here since it was takeout only before we were married. Our dinner was perfectly cooked and and the service was outstanding. We had the smoked salmon appetizer with trout for me and steak for my husband. I love the option to get a smaller size dinner and took advantage of that. I hope we can celebrate our 50th anniversary here as well!

My husband and I wanted to try a new resteraunt so we picked LaBaguette through open table. They sat us at a table that obviously was not meant to be there. We felt like we were in the way the whole time. We were place next to a group that had small children, the wait staff had a hard time getting around us and we were in the path to the bathroom. It took forever to get our food, we barely saw our waitress and we were there way too long because of this. Don't get me wrong the food was great but that was the only thing great about it, and the deseart. I think you had to be a regular person there to get noticed. It seemed to be a spot for regular customers and not for people that wanted to try something new. Food was good. Outsider no

The service was so slow, couldn't get enough set-ups or water. Took forever to get order taken, forever to get food. Waiter brought the wrong order to the table. We asked for extra capers for smoked salmon, and it didn't come until the salmon was almost gone. The home fries were seconds from being burned beyond edible. Wait staff was polite, but too slow. The prices would require that the food and service be outstanding...it definitely was not.

It is rare for everything to be so outstanding at any restaurant. Usually one or both of us has at least one course that is "ok". The Brie with fruit, honey and pecans was as good as it sounds. My husband had Stuffed Salmon and, although steak is rarely my first choice, I am delighted that I decided to try the Steak Portofino. We knew the dessert would be delicious, so took home part of the Brie and filet. Stephanie, was the best kind of server. Knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. She unobtrusively provided everything we needed before we asked. But when my husband struck up a conversation with her, she was also ready to go that direction and add fun to an outstanding meal.

I sort of wonder if La Baguette hasn't seen some of its last days. We were there on a Friday and the restaurant was half full. After tasting the food and getting a look at wine prices (cheapest was $7 for house plonk; most was $12-$14 per glass), I'm not surprised. The best part of my meal was the gazpacho. Others at the table had salmon (evening special) and chicken confit and said that the food was good...though the confit came 20 minutes after the rest of the food was delivered because the waitress forgot to turn in the order. I don't think, however, that I will come again to the restaurant in the evening and I would not recommend it to any one. It's fine for brunch.

There was nothing totally bad, there are just enough great restaurants in the city to go to so that I NEVER have to go here again. Service was very poor and there was an attitude that would have been ok if the food had been even decent. Very limited menu of all the same old tired stuff. It had been 10 years since my last visit and now I know why.....and will never return. Good luck with your customer base....better start taking care of them because your days are numbered. SH

The food, as always was delicious, the wine list was good and the waitstaff was excellent. It was a very busy Saturday night and we had a table for two in a high traffic area--which marred our visit a little. (We had made a reservation several days in advance). However, the solicitous nature of the waiter provided a distraction from the very busy foot traffic going past our table (which was right at the conflux of two dining areas. It was hard to have a private conversation.)

We've been here a few times, and it never seems to fail that the food is amazing. The service, however, is lacking. We've gotten the same waiter multiple times and every time the service becomes poor once it seems he realizes that we are not going to be ordering any alcohol. It's a shame really. This last time, my wife got a steak and it was brought out without a steak knife. We had to flag down a random worker to get one, because our waiter disappeared immediately after dropping off our food. We did not see him, even checking his other tables, for a good ten minutes after receiving our food.

Waited 35 minutes for food after we ordered; server forgot to offer or bring bread; and we sat there for another 20 minutes after we finished eating waiting for our bill. By that time we were not interested in desert, which was good because no one ever asked us if we wanted desert. We have eaten there before several times without all these problems. I tried to put this comment in the private section, but it was too long.
