Save room for dessert (which is hard to do, after a meal of excellent filet mignon, creamed spinach and twice-baked potato), because the new strawberry rhubarb crisp is wonderful. Woods through OpenTable.com long before the restaurant opened to receive phone reservations. The web site was very easy to use. When I got to L. Woods, they confirmed that our table was reserved, ready and waiting for us. I plan to use OpenTable.com again to make reservations in the future. The atmosphere, service and food was nothing less than stellar! I've been there before, but my friend had not been and she was very pleased with my choice of restaurant to have lunch. Our waiter was friendly, courteous, informative and fast and his service was worth a lot more than a standard tip. Great BBQ ribs! BBQ chicken was outstanding as well. Wife had BBQ plank salmon and said it was delicious. Dessert was outstanding. Setting is nice and comfortable, quick and courteous, friendly service. Had a drink at the bar first and enjoyed our time there, friendly conversations and good drinks.

Or at least another state. The decor is pure north woods supper club with dim antler lights and old pictures. The food and service are both top notch. The portions are plentiful and amazingly tasty. Our table ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees and side dishes. Our glasses were never empty and the food was served hot, and plenty of it too! It is not a cheap place for sure, but certainly reasonable for the quality of food and excellent service. Woods is pretty darn close. This time we tried the dry rub ribs. They were very very good, but for our liking a little on the dry side...but then they are dry rubbed. We also had the skirt steak which was fantastic. My wife and I split the two meals that made for a great combination. We also thought the baked potatoes were excellent. I know it's only a baked potato, but the taste and doneness was perfect. You won't go wrong here. Another treats as to see Simma there, seating and greeting people. Be it steaks, ribs, chicken, salad or what have you, it is all excellent. The ambiance is a north woods cabin. That's not my cup of tea, but they do it well. The noise can be a little, and I mean little, loud when it is full, but it is still comfortable. Overall, you will always enjoy a trip to L.
