K'ya Bistro - Laguna BeachFavorite SpotWe love to come early and enjoy the ocean and a drink from the rooftop. Appetizers are wonderful also, and we can order those and still be able to enjoy the "small plate" options when we go down for dinner. It is our" go to" spot for out of towners as they thoroughly enjoy this special local restaurant.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placegreat tapas. items are quite large for tapas. The rooftop is amazing.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Happy Hour Meal! The rooftop bar has happy hour with a great view, but if you're looking for a great meal, K'ya Bistro downstairs is amazing! Between 4:30 and 5:30 pm on weekdays, they allow you to order any item from the full menu at half price with the purchase of an alcoholic beverage (also at happy hour prices). I always go for the filet mignon for $5.50 and maybe lobster mac and cheese. I tried the lamb chops this time around and they were excellent as well.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLove K'yaThe "tapas" style dishes were perfect for all of us to order something different and try each other's for a more flavorful experience.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BistroFound this gem a few years ago and love it more each time I return. The main reason is the food quality and friendly service. Parking is a nightmare, but once you have a spot is well worth the inconvenience.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful birthday dinnerThe food and the service are winners - the only misses we had were the crab/lobster cake and the creme brulee. Other than that everything was awesome. Since it was my birthday, they even took my dessert off the bill ;)
Yes, there was an extremely boisterous group of women at the table right next two us - but that wasn't the restaurant's entire fault. I do wish they had seated us somewhere else though... and not right next to "girls night out".5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visitBrian was our server. Numerous tasty appetizers. Great wine by the glass list.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but strange portion sizeFood was great but I was a bit confused at the portion size. Too big for a tapas-style plate but too small for a full main. Odd but very tasty.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely wonderful. GreatAbsolutely wonderful. Great food, great people. Get there early. Make a reso. Parking isn't easy. Also, try to check out the roof-top bar/deck. Cheers5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always love the food. TheWe always love the food. The service was definitely so so this time. The offering of a 1/2 glass of wine is a wonderful idea. I would only recommend it to people who really appreciate a very noisy environment. I would enjoy the dining area much more if it was a quiet more romantic setting, or a better noise level to enjoy conversation with friends.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in Laguna Beach forWe were in Laguna Beach for busines/pleasure. We looked at K'ya Bistro on line and thought it looked like a fun and different place. It was really enjoyable and were very glad we chose K'ya Bistro for one of our dinners while in Laguna Beach.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Little Gem in LagunaCute little dining room, by the street in a charming vintage Spanish beach front hotel. Excellent value, tapas-size plates, great variety, excellent food. Ask about their wine cellar seating if upstairs crowded. I go as often as possible.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best in LagunaFood is excellent.... We left full, happy, and wanting to come back!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded expectationsWe chose K'ya to celebrate a big day for my husband and I -- the anniversary of the day we met. Fun, vibrant (read: loud) atmosphere with food and service that was done right. Looking forward to visiting again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe food was creative, delicious and excellent. The wait staff was outstanding with the right amount of attentiveness. The only drawback was the noise level. We are in the 65+ range and had difficulty with conversation. We decided that we will definitly return, but maybe during the first of the week and not on a Friday. We all loved our experience. Thank you.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! Had a blast. Go earlyGreat! Cheryl Barrett3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was my wife's birthday,It was my wife's birthday, St. Paddy's Day, so we went for a cocktail and sunset on the roof and of course the place was standing room only. 180 deg view of the coast and even on a cloudy evening we still got to see a sunset. Fortunately I had made reservations for dinner and we were seated within 10 minutes of asked for time. Beet, tomato, goat cheese salad for me and tortilla soup for my wife. We shared small plates of lamb chops with brussel sprouts, lobster and truffle risotto, and the absolute best was bacon wrapped scallops on creamed sweet corn. And I sure wish I knew where to get the white chocolate raspberry ice cream we had for dessert.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall plates Huge reward!Small yummy plates. Great Happy hour! Amazing food choices. Variety and very well prepared. Cute waiters! Yummy cocktails a real fun place.
