Kutsher's Tribeca is a uniquely modern Jewish-American bistro open 7 days a week with lunch, brunch and dinner. Kutsher's will give New Yorkers their very first chance to experience updated "Catskills cuisine" inspired by the iconic Kutsher's Country Club founded in 1907. With a new take on timeless classics, the restaurant will bring the spirit of the Catskills to Tribeca, creating a brand new dining experience never before seen in New York City. The menu, created by NY Times 2-star chef, Mark Spangenthal, takes a contemporary and playful approach to the canon of Jewish cooking from small bites to more substantial offerings.



The 140 seat restaurant designed by architect Rafael de Cardenas presents a fresh take on the 1960's canteen, featuring a comfortable downtown aesthetic that channels the communal and family-friendly spirit of Kutsher's historic dining room.

  • "Kutsher's was a disappointment. The salmon we ordered was grossly overcooked. I tried to find our waiter to send it back, but he was no where to be found. After flagging a different waiter, I got a look of disbelief when I sent the salmon back. After some time had passed, I was about to give up on the salmon and cancel it. When I finally found our waiter, He begged me to keep the salmon as it was just put on the flame. This time the salmon was cooked more towards med rare; although, the ends were dry and overcooked again-- perhaps the chef needs to get some lessons on cooking fish. Again, no apology from the waiter or manager. We were not comped a drink or dessert for the inconvenience, which is kind of standard. Will not be back."

  • "The food was fine and the service good but it seemed like Kutsher's Tribeca was going the way of Kutsher's Catskills. The main dining room was curtained off and diners were seated in the bar area. We ate at rather small, pseudo marble tables. When there were patrons at the bar, the area was very noisy. I found the atmosphere somewhat depressing. It was a Friday night, and when we left, around 8:30PM, there still were many empty tables. "

  • "After having read about the restaurant when it opened, I expected a different environment...although I can't exactly describe what that is. The restaurant on the weekday at 1 PM was essentially empty and half the room closed off. The service was just ok because the waiter spent a lot of time behind the room divider (where the remaining staff was either meeting or having their lunch). Construction in the area may hinder attendance but I think that Kutsher's is not really a destination restaurant in the long run."

  • "We went to Kutsher's at 8:30 on a Saturday night. There was literally no one else eating there. By the time we left an hour and a half later, only two other tables had been filled. When I placed my order our waiter said, "Oh, we're out of that. Sorry, I forgot to tell you." When we ordered dessert he tossed the menus down and said, "There's no ice cream tonight. Sorry." On the bright side, the food we did get was quite good, as were our drinks. The idea of updating an old Catskills resort is really fun, too. (We used to go to the Concord, near Kutsher's every winter.) But no one really seemed to be running the place, and perhaps that's why it was so empty when every restaurant around it was packed."

  • "Okay, They are trying. The eggcreams are amazing. the chopped liver is excellent. The lamb brisket so so. The prices are pricey and the service is appalling. How appalling? Well, at $125 a person for a holiday dinner, the waiters dropped soiled silverware on the bare table top in between courses that had schmaltz, liver, brisket etc. on them, and then on the table. They left dirty plates. And could not be flagged down for a glass of water. Those downsides were formidable. On the upside. A wonderful idea. Food that while spotty is on the way to wonderful. And owners who are clearly passionate about their business and caring -- when they are involved -- about their customers. R"

  • "Had been there for dinner several times so we were expecting a warm atmosphere and an elegant holiday dinner for what turned out to be our over $100 per head including taxes and tips, excluding their overpriced wine and drinks. Instead they had turned up the lights and hung sports banners from the old hotel, so you felt like the inside of a gym. The food was mediocre and the service was haphazard. Chicken and duck liver needed seasoning. Artichokes were ok. Latkes were bland. Trout was good but barely warm and very small portions. Folks who had the lamb brisket thought it was great. They didn't bring enough dessert for the table until we asked. Could have been great but instead a huge disappointment. "

  • "Very disappointed We went for a family seder and sad to say it was a horrible overpriced experience . Bad overpriced food and drinks, Cocktails were $13 for warm uninspired cocktails. Thimble sized chopped liver had to be shared with no seconds!! Chicken soup was okay and so was the small desserts that also had to be shared the coffee was lukewarm and we were forced to give a 20% tip which was added on to our charge card. We were never informed of this 20% charge on the phone or was it printed anywhere. Comments of other patrons upon leaving were also very negative. Although the service was fair at best, the small portions and lackluster taste of the food and the high prices made this a one time visit for me and my family."

  • "The food was wonderful, albeit heavy. The special cocktails are cute. The artichoke appetizer and the latkes with topping are wonderful. Many items, including the interesting entrees, have dropped off the menu. What we now have is mostly wonderful high end delicatessen at a high end price. Still, I loved the lamb brisket and the brussels sprouts. Dessert wasn't worth it."

The pastrami and corned beef melted in the mouth. Although is is expensive for such a meal of soup and sandwich, we enjoyed every bite."

  • "Nice place. Went for a lovely and very unique NY brunch. NYC's unique Jewish heritage infused with a modern fusion twist. Some of the stuff was good, some excellent. The pastrami spring rolls were fun but while exciting, I did not find the final result outstanding. Beetroot salad was very well crafted. We tried two types of latkes: traditional with apple compote and sour cream, and with home made gently smoked brisket and horseradish sauce. Both were excellent. The latkes tasted like 'real' latkes but the twists were also fun. Excellent home made sodas (loved the cele-ray) cool desserts including a lovely apple pie ice cream soda. A very worthwhile concept, good execution, and very reasonable prices. Excellent service too."

  • "Having spent my summers at Kutcher's in the Catskills, i thought this would be a fun place have dinner with friends. I was disappointed. The portions were a bit small. The pastrami was fatty. Although the service was good, the small portions and lackluster taste of the food made this a one time visit for me."

Familiar with the resort...(not my thing, however, deserves historical recognition...) I think, the food was really good. Even though, I am not into "deli" type of food, but, it was an artisanal version of Jewish/Yiddish/American food... I think, it deserves more attention that it was getting."

  • "I recognized the name Kutsher's from the resort in the Catskills that I went to one summer with my family as a kid, so I was curious to check out this restaurant. What a treat. The food on their menu is nostalgic but every dish has a unique twist that makes it really special. The cocktail menu is great, the duck latkes are incredible, the mini potato knishes melt in your mouth. I've never tasted anything like their shlishkes. I will be back."

And their wine selection is limited but always very solid. I've discovered new wines at Kutsher's a few times, where I've left and purchased a case for my own consumption.   • "Visiting this restaurant brought me back to the days when my parents and I went to this hotel in the Catskills. Those were the days. It's wonderful to have this restaurant in the city and to eat and remember those times. Food was delicious. We were 6 people and ordered a little of everything so we could all taste. Prices are on the high side but I didn't mind paying except for 1 thing. The big megillah soup should have more than 1 kreplach for the $19.00 price."

Would be nice if we could've chosen from any of their cocktails, instead of being limited to just the one. I doubt there is much a difference in cost on their end in that selection."

  • "Marble tables are lovely in the summer, but during New York's coldest winter in recent history, not so much. You could feel the cold wafting up from the tables, and it had our food pretty icy, within minutes of arriving. The waiter, when asked, said its hard to heat a TriBeCa space. Um, no, it's called actually turning the heat ON. The bathroom was warmer than the dining room. And while the restaurant wasn't even a quarter full, the busboy kept trying to clear us out. Über fail, Kutshers."

  • "We went in with mediocre hopes (my husband was looking at me with the side eye, because he dislike fusion resturants) We ate from a Prefix brunch Menu & it was delightful. I'm having daydreams about the knish, the Latkes were fab, My french toast was fine but the kicker was the Passion fruit Punch with the vodka jello shots! UNBELIEVABLE!! So good & we are a picky pair. We will def be back."
