Diner Reviews
  • "I wanted to take my girlfriend out for her birthday to a place we have never been before and it was the KTCHN. The ambience was nice and the food was good. The surprise for the night there is a stage for life performances while dining. There "Hall of Fame" wall of pictures were unique. I would recommend friends to KTCHN; the surprise is the perfromance you would be caught of guard. Enjoy"

  • "The food has gotten better - but the draw is The Haus of Mimosa performing at brunch."

  • "We went for Restaurant Week, though only one of us ordered from the RW options, as the lunch menu is very limited in choices and the prices are low enough it is a bargain anyway. The food was tasty and the portions adequate. The room is modern and sleek and white and bright and shiny. The friendly and gracious staff are what really made it an enjoyable experience."

  • "This has been my 5th time dining at KTCHN and each and every time I LOVED it!!! The staff is professional and friendly. The menu is a wonderful mixed to please any palate. The dishes are beautifully presented only to be outdone by the deliciousness of each dish! All the people I have recommended KTCHN to feel the same way. Don't miss out on this New York Foodie Treasure! Don't miss their Sunday Brunch with The Haus of Mimosa!"

  • "We found kTCHN the night we moved in down the street and it has been our go to place ever since. The staff is fun and friendly and the food is consistently well prepared and creative. Tempura green beans are a must have but prepare to be addicted. The service is over the top - the hosts remember me since my first visit and always take good care of me as a frequent diner."

  • "If you are looking for an extra indulgence go for the Mac and Cheese. It is fantastic and even though its heavy, it comes with a salad. Which made me feel better."

  • "glass top tables wobble, booth backs are loose so if the weight is heavier on the other side you keep getting hit in the back, the toilets are something else, it is unisex with multiple booths in the same room without the benefit of floor to ceiling doors,.......and the service.....we were greeted by the only waitress screaming at us from the bar and asking if we had a reservation or just wanted a table. KTCHN is not just missing letters in its name its missing much mmore"

  • "We ate dinner very early because we were going to a 7:30 show nearby -- restaurant was nearly empty at 5:30 so we can't judge noise level -- food was very good -- service friendly and efficient -- would go back if ever in that neighborhood --"

  • "disappointing '1990s type dance house music' took away from enjoying the good food, and the service was mediocre."
    Dined on 8/5/2014
  • "Excellent but electronic music made dining unpleasant unless one is into techno type dance noise. We left after appetizers as too grating for relaxing."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "The brunch is quite good. If you order the unlimited mimosas, ask them to leave a carafe on the table. This way they don't have to keep coming back and you don't have to wait for a refill. They will even refill the carafe once it's empty. The drag show is entertaining and fun."

  • "We ate here for brunch and the food was excellent! I wish I could say the same for the service but it was a little rocky. The drag show was so much fun, we loved it but our drinks were terrible! The "sangria" was just some red wine with an orange slice and straw. This place seems to be hit or miss..."

  • "I am very happy with my dining experience at this restaurant. Why only (4) stars? Well, a couple of reasons. 1. My buddy ordered quinea bites that tasted very bland. The rest of the food was spot on. I had the meatloaf and loved every bite. I didn't expect comfort food in such a place so it was a welcomed treat. 2. The service was nice but not perfect. I had to flag down staff on two separate occasions to get another drink. I would recommend this place as a great first date spot though. Relatively private, quiet and upscale environment. You can share a hearty laugh without everyone looking at you too! I would definitely recommend trying this place at least once!"

  • "The staff was very professional and courteous. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was unique. We dined in the front section of the restaurant so the ambiance we expected to see the people traffic, but we were pleased with the whole expereince."

  • "Loved this restaurant. The food was amazing but the service was horrible. We were one of four tables there. Our wine drinks sat at bar for 20 minutes while our server was chatting with hostess and other servers. This continued through out our meal. But food left me wanting to come back"

  • "Went to this restaurant for convenience. Ordinary food at an ordinary place. Don't expect too much."

  • "The food was absolutely outstanding! Our server was very helpful in helping us select entrees and cocktails. The only negative aspect of our experience was the high cost of the food."

  • "This time I went with a friend & we had the chef's 4 course tasting menu. Crostini & champagne were good way to start, followed by a salad & lobster/risotto cubes (we shared), risotto with sweet peas (risotto was tasty - not mushy or overcooked) & then a really good carrot cake (small portion - served round, so cut out of something or baked individuallY? - but I would have Loved raisins in it). Our waitress was friendly, attentive & efficient, and the bus boys & maitre d were also very helpful. We never waited on a drink or for our dishes to be cleared or for more water. I think they've stepped up their game."

  • "KTCHN had such a relaxing vibe about it; it legitmitley feels like you're eating brunch in a large dining room. My group experienced some of the best service we've ever recieved while dining out. The waitstaff were very friendly and approachable and came around to ask how everything was and if we were enjoying the restaurant. As for food, absolutely delicious. I had a hard choice between the eggs benedict and french toast; lucky for me my friend ordered the eggs so I could try both. Both were to die for. I'd love if portion sizes were a bit larger (the only complain everyone in my group had) but that's common in many more upscale restaurants. The bottomless mimosas were perfectly mixed and the House of Mimosa drag queens were beyond fab."

  • "We went for a Sunday pre theater brunch. Unbeknown to us, there was a loud, raucous show in the back that permeated to the front of the restaurant. Deafening. So there went our relaxing brunch. But even worse, the omelette had no flavor and the home fries were ice cold. For that we had to wait nearly 30 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant. Disappointing is an understatement. On the bright side, the salad with tuna was good."

  • "I took a friend from out of town there for brunch, and we had a wonderful time! The carafe of mimosas was good (potent) as was our French toast from the $30 brunch menu. The drag show was fun, and the two performers really impressed us with their range (yes, they sang really well & didn't lip sync)! It was a hoot and I'm looking forward to going again."

  • "Great food, but you just be willing to wait to order, wait for food. We waited about 40minutes to order. The breakfast was fabulous; simple, hardy ingredients. Worth the wait, but I wish we had been warned."
    Dined on 7/27/2014
  • "We ate a light pre-theatre dinner, but left stuffed and the food was phenomenal. We started with the soup of the day, a melon and mint cold soup. It was light and delicious. Then I followed it up with the Lobster Bites, fried balls of luscious lobster and risotto---exceptional. He had the Rock Shrimp Tacos---a bit spicy for me, but he enjoyed them. We ended with the Apple Tart and Blueberry Cheesecake---both of which were wonderful. And on top of that, this restaurant is conveniently located down the street from Theatre Row, a building of small theaters. As USA TODAY's First Road Warrior of the Year, I travel a lot and I am very picky. KTCHN exceeded my expectations; I hope we can fit in another trip there before we leave town."

  • "Had the best dinner before a show at KTCHN! The restaurant is close to my apartment and the perfect pre-theatre spot with an actual cool vibe! The cocktails are so unique and creative, I had 2 different drinks that were delicious. I had the apple and endive salad which was so light and refreshing, yet filling. Don't miss this place!"

  • "We actually went out for dinner after a show and after eating at this restaurant. Although the food was good, even with an appetizer, the meal was not worth it. You are paying for the ambiance. It is a very chic vibe. Not worth a return trip."
