Diner Reviews
  • "The food was absolutely outstanding! Our server was very helpful in helping us select entrees and cocktails. The only negative aspect of our experience was the high cost of the food."

  • "love this place, bottomless mimosa, great service, not a lot of food but it was tasty, live talent"

  • "KTCHN had such a relaxing vibe about it; it legitmitley feels like you're eating brunch in a large dining room. My group experienced some of the best service we've ever recieved while dining out. The waitstaff were very friendly and approachable and came around to ask how everything was and if we were enjoying the restaurant. As for food, absolutely delicious. I had a hard choice between the eggs benedict and french toast; lucky for me my friend ordered the eggs so I could try both. Both were to die for. I'd love if portion sizes were a bit larger (the only complain everyone in my group had) but that's common in many more upscale restaurants. The bottomless mimosas were perfectly mixed and the House of Mimosa drag queens were beyond fab."

  • "We went for a Sunday pre theater brunch. Unbeknown to us, there was a loud, raucous show in the back that permeated to the front of the restaurant. Deafening. So there went our relaxing brunch. But even worse, the omelette had no flavor and the home fries were ice cold. For that we had to wait nearly 30 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant. Disappointing is an understatement. On the bright side, the salad with tuna was good."

  • "I took a friend from out of town there for brunch, and we had a wonderful time! The carafe of mimosas was good (potent) as was our French toast from the $30 brunch menu. The drag show was fun, and the two performers really impressed us with their range (yes, they sang really well & didn't lip sync)! It was a hoot and I'm looking forward to going again."

  • "Great food, but you just be willing to wait to order, wait for food. We waited about 40minutes to order. The breakfast was fabulous; simple, hardy ingredients. Worth the wait, but I wish we had been warned."

  • "We ate a light pre-theatre dinner, but left stuffed and the food was phenomenal. We started with the soup of the day, a melon and mint cold soup. It was light and delicious. Then I followed it up with the Lobster Bites, fried balls of luscious lobster and risotto---exceptional. He had the Rock Shrimp Tacos---a bit spicy for me, but he enjoyed them. We ended with the Apple Tart and Blueberry Cheesecake---both of which were wonderful. And on top of that, this restaurant is conveniently located down the street from Theatre Row, a building of small theaters. As USA TODAY's First Road Warrior of the Year, I travel a lot and I am very picky. KTCHN exceeded my expectations; I hope we can fit in another trip there before we leave town."

  • "Had the best dinner before a show at KTCHN! The restaurant is close to my apartment and the perfect pre-theatre spot with an actual cool vibe! The cocktails are so unique and creative, I had 2 different drinks that were delicious. I had the apple and endive salad which was so light and refreshing, yet filling. Don't miss this place!"

  • "We actually went out for dinner after a show and after eating at this restaurant. Although the food was good, even with an appetizer, the meal was not worth it. You are paying for the ambiance. It is a very chic vibe. Not worth a return trip."

  • "All the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely go there again."

  • "My friend wanted to meet for lunch near Port Authority, bec she was taking a bus from NJ. This neighborhood is not known for having the best dining options, but I am very glad I found KTCHN. Delicious restaurant week lunch menu and the place was not busy so we were able to take our time. The server did not rush us out. I would definitely return."

  • "We visited Ktchn for an early dinner. The waiting staff were excellent. Very attentive. Kept ensuring that we were ok and looked after during our time there. The food was great. Had a good choice of dishes to choose from. Would definitely recommend a visit. Will go back again."

  • "Did not know that there was a show during brunch so it was very difficult to catch up with friends who were visiting from out of town; however, the customers that knew were having fun. Service was relaxed so we did not feel rushed."

  • "Met some friends from out of town for brunch. We enjoyed the drink selection and the food. Didn't realize there was a show at noon on Sunday. What fun!"

  • "The bill was wrong and then my credit card was still charged wrong amount. I have heard this is common with this establishment. Sad because this will keep me from coming back."

  • "Visited KTCHN twice during our trip to New York City, using LivingSocial vouchers on each occasion. One visit was for a 4 course tasting menu dinner, the other was for brunch. Drinks were included in each. With the vouchers the food was very good value. The food on each occasion was delicious and the ambiance was welcoming. I would happily return to KTCHN if ever in New York again. Waiting staff were friendly and remembered us on our second visit. The restaurant had a front dining area and a rear dining area, each of which were immaculately presented. Saturday brunch included a drag show, which was unexpected but fun."

  • "To begin NYC Pride 2014 my friends and I decided to go to Brunch. I picked Kitchn, because I heard the food was good there. I made the reservation and I'm glad I picked this place. The All-You-Can-Drink Brunch was flowing with Mimosas and Sangria and it didn't stop. The Eggs Benedict was great, that's what I had, and our server was on point."

  • "We enjoyed KTCHN in many ways. Nice atmosphere in bar area and separate dining room. The food was very tasty but the portions were way too small for some of our meals. (There were four of us) My husband and I shared and apple and endive salad with caramelized walnuts. Very tasty but barely enough for one person let alone two. I ordered the special; crab on a bed of an interesting mixture of different types of peas. The crabs were so thin there was barely anything in them to eat. I am a thin person with a moderate appetite, by the way. I would have like to have some bread with the meal, which was not provided. I had to have cheesecake for dessert (it was good) so I wouldn't be hungry at the play we were about to see."

  • "The food was perfect for brunch-- very tasty!! The staff was friendly and attentive. The French toast was exceptional and the eggs benedict was "traditional.""

  • "You will enjoy this place no matter what. Even if you are not in the mood to eat, the drinks are divine. AWESOME!!!"

  • "I have eaten here many times, and my one complaint is always about the uneven service. We were in early at 5--there were plenty of staff on, but they seemed either to disappear or to congregate among themselves. We were not especially in a rush, but someone checking in every once in a while is to be expected. That said, the $25 pre-theatre three-course meal is hard to beat, and because we arrived at 5, we got the $15 two-course lunch meal--a genuine steal. With more and more Broadway theatres going to a 7 rather than an 8 o'clock curtain, it is almost impossible to beat the pre-theatre menus here."

  • "Went here for dinner. The frisee salad was good and the pork entree was delicious. Service was friendly but slow. The place was nice, but was uncomfortably cold."

  • "The food at KITCHN was excellent and the service was outstanding. Everyone went out of their way to become acquainted with us made us feel like we were special guests. Great Place and we can't wait to go back next time we are in NYC."

  • "Went to this restaurant after reading reviews, when we arrived the restaurant was freezing and we had to ask for the air con to be turned down. The starters were good but when our main courses arrived my sons steak and fries were just about warm so we had to send them back, unfortunately rather than bringing a new plate they reheated it, not impressed with that at all. Desserts were good. Automatically added 20% service to the bill, so not impressed with that either considering the reheating issue. Wouldn't bother returning there are better places"

  • "i liked the menu. The server was very friendly. The host came over a couple of times and was very friendly. the portions were a good size. I do think it is a little over priced. That said I would go back and would recommend to others"

  • "This is really a gay lounge not a restaurant. There were maybe 6 occupied tables and it still took 10 minutes to get the waitress to bring water, another 10 minutes to take my order, and she didn't even ask if I wanted another drink when I finished my first. The food did come out quickly and was fine which is typical of this type of place. The kitchen help work hard but the staff has attitude. As a gay man my advise it to wait 6 months. It will have a new name and hopefully better service by then...."

  • "Our server had an attitude. I had the all I can drink price fix sangria and only had two glasses I one hour and one half. Food tasted good."

  • "KTCHN is an exciting restaurant that provides great food and has a wonderful ambience. The staff is extremely accommodating and it is a great place to people watch especially if you are sitting in the front of the restaurant by the window. If you are sitting in the back room, Sunday brunch can get quite loud because of the Haus of Mimosa drag review, which is lots of fun and very energetic. I was there 30 minutes before the review began and it was very quiet and relaxing. Either timeframe provides a wonderful brunch experience."

  • "This was my first time at the restaurant; though it has been recommended by friends. I must have a word with these friends. The entrees were actually quite good - pasta and tacos. But the service was lacking and salads were disappointing. My wedge was anemic and when I needed more dressing, there was not a staffer in sight. The dining room also had a very sedate - almost sterile - vibe."

  • "We arrived early for our dinner reservations, and had a cocktail at the bar during Happy Hour (2 for 1 drinks). When I asked for the bill before leaving the bar, the bartender had charged us full price for 4 drinks. I called him on it. He took it back and said he adjusted the charge. That was a few days ago and my credit card has been charged with the higher amount. I will have to take my own time now to resolve that issue. The appetizers were disappointing...a small spread on a melba-like toast. Salad and entree portions were small and high-priced."

  • "This was our 3rd time at KTCHN. The food is consistently good, and the service has gotten better & better. Our waiter and the host were both friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. I will definitely be back soon."
