  • "The food was wonderful, but unfortunately the service was so poor, I will never return. It took us 45 minutes to receive our drink order and place our food order. What's more, our soup and salad didn't come out for another half hour after that. Our appetizer was forgotten as well. When the manager came over to apologize, she merely said she was sorry about the wait and sent over random appetizers. At this rate, we didn't want appetizers we wanted our food. The restaurant wasn't busy enough to justify the hold up. It took 2.5 hours to dine here."

  • "We had a 730 reservation, seated at 8. 40 min later received or first drinks 15 min after placed order n ordered second drink. Still no water even on the table. We ordered sushi salad soup n and meal. After sitting at the table with all the other customers whom were complaining food was served all at once not in courses. I bussed my own area to another table. The bill came in at $100. I wanted to just walk out n not pay. Awful diner n service."

  • "We have been going here for a couple years, around Valentines day they changed managment. Resevations for 6pm and arrivedon time. We were seated right away and it took over an hour before our cook arrived to do our dinner!! They were not packed, but only 4 or 5 tables filled with people. looked like 2 or 3 cooks working at busy time of day???? Menu has changed some and the sauces were not the same as in the past. YumYum was runny,not as thick as in the past,did not taste the same. It took over 40 minutes to get my Appitizer I asked for with the Drinks. Another party at our table were told it would take anopther 20 to 25 minutes to get his sushi after the cook started our meal?? The sushi was a special that day?? Buy 1 get 1 or something."

  • "We were visiting town, had an urge for Japanese. Didn't know what to expect, so it didn't disappoint. Unlike our excellent, and always busy, home town Japanese, this was very quiet, only a couple of other diners. Went with just shasimi and rolls, our normal choice. Both were good, the shasimi was not quite melt in your mouth ... the rolls were OK, but not the spectrum of taste we're used to. We did chuckle when the server opened the bottle of wine using the corkscrew through the foil cap and then didn't give us the chance to taste first ... maybe they don't get a lot of wine drinking diners. Good, almost there ... there must be better Japanese in Cincinnati."

  • "We had very good service from beginning to end. Food was made fresh infront of our eyes with a nice show that we and the kids enjoyed. Food was very tasty and filling. Great place to go for a birthday or if you have a big group."

  • "Made a reservation on Open Table. Does not offer the opportunity to specify a hibachi table which we wanted and expected when we made the reservation. As a result, we waited longer than expected upon arrival to get a table. Service was slow with a long wait period before anyone presented themselves to take a drink or dinner order. Tyler tried his best but some food did not arrive as scheduled (chef had to remind him to bring things). He was unaware that it was a birthday celebration (despite the note that I provided to the restaurant when the reservation was made). Food and service were average. Pleased my daughter enjoyed the experience."

  • "We will still be back. The cook we had was not very energetic or friendly, which are things that I consider important in a hibatchi place. This is the second time we have been there on New Years Eve, and I was sad to find that they were closing at 10 pm! The last time the owner was our cook, was fabulous and the place was open until after the ball dropped. Our sushi didn't come until after we were getting our meal. Refills were slow. The cook spilled sesame seeds everywhere (then didn't clean them up, even though he was done). Some of my scallops were raw in the middle (I've had scallops,even here , it wasn't just me). Most of the food was okay, but it wasn't seasoned as well as the other two times we were there. C grade at best."

  • "From start to finish the dinner at Kotos was wonderfu. This is a hidden gem in Eastgate-beautiful decor, and wonderful service. The bartender, Devin, is always great to make recommendations on the sushi-and during the week take advantage of their sushi specials. We ate our Christmas Eve dinner at Kotos and all of our food was delicious and was cooked exactly to order. Andy our chef was very entertaining and our server (Michon?) was attentive. Highly recommend Kotos for a special occasion."

  • "Always excellent food quality and easily the highest quality sushi on the east side of Cincinnati. Housekeeping could use a bit of work, as could the attitude and attentiveness by the greeters / seaters. We go out of our way to go to Koto, and I hope the details slipping aren't the start of a greater demise. If they'd tighten up housekeeping and pleasantness to service, could return to the place to be on the Eastside, especially for groups and / or groups with kids for Hibachi!"
