Kona Grill - Tampagreat experienceBeen there several times, this last visit was for a birthday party. Made reservations 15 minutes before arrival. Kona accommodated perfectly. Will definitely be back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dessertFood was ok, a bit overpriced and food not as impressive in taste. As it sounds on the description. Dessert was great. We had the passion fruit crime brûlée and the red velvet cake and those were outstanding. I suggest a nice place for an appetizer , wine and dessert. Skip the expensive entrees.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodGood food selection for adults and children. A little pricey but not too bad.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as alwaysI have been having business lunches and dinners at Kona for several (4?) years now. The food is consistently excellent, the waitstaff friendly and polite. The ambiance is lovely, if a bit noisy. Kona will continue to be one of my top picks in Tampa.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting MenuThe kona Grill is a busy, noisy dining experience, but does feature a varied and interesting menu. The food choices are varied and feature Japanese cuisine, namely sushi and sashimi, but do offer other more fusion types of items. There is nothing romantic about this restaurant, but if you desire a fine meal, served by a friendly attentive waitstaff, you will enjoy your dining experience. We enjoyed the tuna tower, and the angry edemame was truly angry (spicy). The entrees were quite good and the portions more than ample. I would suggest Kona Grill, if your looking for an interesting meal at reasonable cost.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Business Dinner LocationIt's a nice place to have a casual business dinner. The food is very tasty and the desserts are enormous!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMKona Gets ItAlways a great venue for lunch. Food consistently good and service is attentive.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good timeI went to Kona Grill with my family and friends after my college graduation. We had a party of 15 and the service was decent. The food was delicious they give you a very large portion of food. I got the pork tenderloin - amazing.Overall we had a good time.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, marginal serviceIn the interest of providing feedback, the service for our visit was not very good. First, the hostess did not crediting my Open Table reservation. Our servers were very clearly a trainee/trainer pair, but they never acknowledged that or introduced themselves as such. This isn't a big deal, but the trainer didn't particularly seem on top of her game, and I'm not sure the trainee was learning all that much. Our drink orders were incorrect, a couple of questions that we asked about the menu were incorrectly answered, and so forth. All in all, not a huge problem, and it's not as though we won't come back, but not the level of service I'd expect, either.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food....,. ButI had the meatloaf that was great. My wife ordered a flight of Sushi. Our server decided that was not enough food for my wife so she put in the sushi selections as 3 sushi orders. My wife got a lot more food than she wanted. 25-30 dollars more food than she wanted.if you go here make sur your getting and paying for what you ordered.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMnice surprisefood was tasty, well presented and priced OK. Server was very good and professional. My freind and I both had good entrees. the Avocado egg rolls were great. The Ahi salad was very nice and the blackened grouper special was very nice. the jasmine rice was not very jasmine in flavor but texture was fine.
nice food, nice atmosphere5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodMy kids took me to Kona Grill for Mother's Day and I absolutely loved the food. The hostess was friendly when we arrived, my waiter was excellent, and most importantly the food was DELISHOUS! The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was nice and tender. I will be visiting Kona Grill on a regular basis!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeFirst time eating at Kona Grill, just dinner with the wife. Great atmosphere, food was great, service was excellent! We really enjoyed it. We would definitely go again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodWe have dined at Kona Grill many times, always enjoying the sushi rolls and various entrees. Because of diet considerations, I now have to be very careful as to what I eat, which limits restaurant choices. Kona Grill now has a skinny menu, which, when combined, with other low calorie offerings on the regular menu, makes for an enjoyable experience. For example, My husband had the glazed salmon, which was delicious, and a great dish for a calorie conscious dieter. Too bad that I had to bypass the desserts that I love to eat there!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Pleasant Surprise!I took my family to Kona Grill on the eve of Mother's Day. We were all very pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. My mother ordered the sea bass and gave me a bite of her dish, which melted in my mouth--probably one of the best tasting fish I've ever experienced and her sentiments were the same. My father ordered steak and also said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's ever had. My parents aren't quick to make statements like this so I was thrilled they enjoyed it so much. The dessert portions were borderline obscene, they were so huge I couldn't stop laughing when they arrived. But they were equally delicious (easily shareable for four people per plate) and gave us plenty to take home. Overall I loved the Kona Grill!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice ChoiceThey have a glueten free menu, which is a nice option. I had my after party graduation dinner there, and everything was great. Service was good from the time I valet parked my car until I left the restaurant. Definitely recommend this. I did see another midsize party and a large party. So I do recommend for groups. Nice menu. The margarita flat bread and salmon entree were good. Their deserts are humongous. The brownie was my fav.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!!!This restaurant was awesome. Was my first time here and can not wait to go back. Food was great and drinks were great. If you go here, you need to get the miso-sake sea bass, it was phenomenal. The only thing I would say is do not get the sake for a drink. The sake is good but they serve it in a little tiny carafe and you only get about 3 tiny cups out of it. Besides that atmosphere was awesome a little noisy at times. Just an all around good place to get some good food. Not recommended for a romantic meal though.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlfresco DiningNice to dine outside on a Spring day. Well-informed waitress, food delivered in a timely fashion. Good portion sizable: Large dessert size. Comfortable bar area.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe shrimp and lobster sushiThe shrimp and lobster sushi roll was delicious. The ultra premium junmai daiginjo sake was some of the best sake my wife and I have ever had. The noise level was higher that we preferred but it was tolerable. We were able to have a conversation with out raising our voices. This was our first time dining at Kona Grill. We are looking forward to coming back.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond ChanceWe decided to give Kona a second chance and very glad we did. Salmon salad was excellent, fish perfectly done. Yellowtail sashimi was also excellent. Great service. We will be back!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
