  • "I was really excited to visit Kona Grill after a rave review from my friend. The only good thing about the experience is the restaurant itself, it looks nice and clean. The service was disappointing not so much by our waiter but by the hostesses. They were rude and unprofessional upon greeting and seating us. I had the Mac Chicken because the waiter recommended it as it was a Kona grill favorite. It was horrible, the chicken was gummy and pink, the dish was overly salted . The sauce was cold and dried up."

  • "I have mixed reviews of the food. I had the macademia nut crusted chicken which was very good. However, there were too many potatoes and they were lumpy and were kind of tasteless. I prefer them to be much creamier with flavor. I thought the choice of vegetable was poor as well. Bok Choy. Our waitress was fantastic so I have no complaints there. It was a little noisy for conversation."

  • "We visit Kona every time we come to Lincolnshire for work, usually 4 times a year. This is one of those, "have to hit" restaurants while in town. The food is very good, and very reasonably priced. You can get out of here without spending more than $20-30 per meal. The waitress we had was great as well - she was very friendly and even gave one of the members in our a party a $25 gift card for wearing green on St. Patrick's day. I recommend coming here if in town."

  • "Very good choice when looking for Asian food, although there are other choices as well. Busy on weekends-reservation recommended. Located in an outdoor mall close to other popular restaurants which can mean finding a parking place nearby can be difficult (a consideration if the weather is bad). Overall, a very satisfactory choice for a casual dinner for couples or family with kids. Prices are reasonable. Nice ambiance, noise level is moderate. Looks like the bar is very popular as the menu has a lot of "bar" food choices."

  • "The food was very good with excellent menu choices and just enough variety to remain interesting not overwhelming. This was our first time and could not have been more satisfied with the food, service, and reasonable prices. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy. Especially notable were the sushi rolls, seafood ceviche and tuna tartare appetizers. We will definitely be back to try more from the great menu!"

  • "I have comments on my OPENTABLE account----we prefer to sit in a quiet area, I have dietary issues. Kona Grill did not read the Opentable comments last night. We were first shown to a table by the bar----noisy right by the walkway to the kitchen and bathroom. I said NO immediately and asked the 'hostess' if she had read the Opentable Comments. She then went back to the Host Stand and whispered to the person who had checked us in and two other people. They pointed to the reservation and then must have noticed the comments. Then they took us to a table that was quiet. BUT NONE OF MY FOOD ISSUES WERE ADDRESSED. I did not bother to mention this to the waitress because at this point I had already decided the dinner was a lost cause."

  • "People working there were the best part of Kona Grill. The restaurant setup and food were lackluster at best. We made an OpenTable reservation for 6:30pm hoping to catch the happy hour prices since the sushi is crazy expensive. We made it earlier and were shocked to see the restaurant empty, but the bar area completely packed. I realized then I made a mistake in making a reservation at all. The wait time at the bar was 30-45 minutes and by then happy hour prices were over. We decided to stay for dinner and ended up paying $75 for everything. You have to pay for water here. Seriously. We had individual green teas and very expensive tasteless sushi n garlic garlic garlic steak. Never again. Sticking with delicious local sushi place."

They aren't a sushi restaurant - but regardless they do have a large sushi menu which didn't live up to standards."

  • "We went on as unsay night . The weather was nasty out so there were only a few people in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit on the slow side. We would have thought he was waiting on several tables. He may have been the only waiter I don't know. He was extremely slow. It sure could have been better. He would bring one cup of hot water to the table, when 2 people were drinking hot water. He wouldn't ask if the other person needed hot water, nor did he just bring it. For it being a slow night, the service should have been much better."

  • "I was amazed by our experience last night. I have a son with severe allergies and they were so accommodating in ensuring what he ate did not have items in which he was allergic to. They also had etch a sketches to keep both of my kids busy. Honestly - one of the most well behaved evenings at a restaurant we've had. I love this place. It is definitely a go to place for my family. And the food is fantastic. Loved it."

  • "This visit wasn't our best... I think we'll wait till after the holidays to return. The kitchen was extremely slow, we had to send back one dish because the rare ahi was way overcooked.(we could have sent back two, but we waffled). Although the check was adjusted without much fuss, some communication by the waitress that the kitchen was running behind would have helped. Ambience not helped by poor music feed that was pumping out old 90's cover music. Even the staff acknowledged the annoyance, but can't do anything about it. And, on Saturdays, tough to find parking in a busy lot used by three restaurants and stores that are still open."

  • "We took our 12 and 16 year old girls out to dinner knowing the menu would have something for everyone. The menu did not disappoint the Hawaiian steak was excellent, sushi for one, pasta with shrimp for another. I had the Sea bass which was very tasty, it was the thinnest Sea Bass I have ever been served but delicious. Considering the size of the fish this dish was over priced. 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and one dessert came to $165.00 before the tip. It was a wonderful evening all in all and we are happy we chose Kona Grill for our night out."
