Diner Reviews
  • "This was a nice restaurant. Service was very good. Food was good but I was expecting it to be great. Big portions."

  • "This was out first time at Kona Grill. I am glad we gave it a chance and definitely will come back. Food was great and our server, Mo was very knowledgeable out the menu. The decor was outdated, however in good condition."

  • "Great food! Many delicious menu items to choose from...we'll be back to try 'em all."

  • "It was okay - nothing special. Service could be improved. Coffee was weak - not drinkable."

  • "The best seeing is outside but it's first come first serve. Which doesn't make much sense if you have a reservation. The interior is dark and dull. Formica table tops. Reminded me of a cafeteria. No ambiance. "

  • "Kona needs another location on the Strip or Eastside. My friends come to the West to hang there and that is their only complaint to spread the love. Great staff, Great food and Great atmosphere. Was enjoying an early dinner with my daughter and it was still a vibrant busy scene. Definitely, feel like I am becoming a regular as the staff is now recognizing me, which always makes you feel good when you enter."

  • "From previous visits, I know the ambience INSIDE is quieter and more to MY liking. However, our friends wanted to sit outside which was a little noisy for me. All else was great! The restaurant was really hopping for a Monday night, and the food was VERY good. We had a sushi appetizer called PICASSO, which was excellent, as was the sea bass entree. In addition, I had a house salad which was one of the best I have ever had anywhere, and the passion fruit creme brulee was divine. Top this off with the impeccable service, and we had a very enjoyable evening!"

  • "There was nothing great about Kona it was just okay. Service was slow and the menu is average. I would not recommend."

  • "My husband ordered a beef burger which was stuffed with cheese and jalapenos. It also came with bacon, lettuce and tomato. I don't eat meat; therefore, I did not actually taste the burger. However, he said it was delicious and cooked to perfection! I did taste the sweet potato fries which were awesome!"

  • "The food was fair at best, Sushi was equal to a hotel buffet, the server was fine but it took over an hour to get our food. There were 4 of us and two had kitchen hot meals which they said were good, but i had the feeling that our 4 sushi rolls had been made 30 minutes prior to all the food being served, they were dry and fairly tasteless. The noise level was incredibly loud. Probably won't be back."

  • "Full dinner or Happy Hour visit, you cant go wrong. The food is wonderful and not expensive. The happy hour is full of $6 items and my favorite great margaritas. The vibe is always vibrant on a Friday after work or a Sunday brunch. So if you want good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a great time, this is the place to be."

  • "We all loved the private feel in our booth and the lights were this time just right to read the menu properly without the use of extra flash lights . the food was real good, especially the egg rolls and the macadamia nut chicken - a highlight was the delicious carrot cake dessert. All the stuff (at the dinner table and bar) was fast, super friendly and always there when we needed them - we will definitely return for more meals."

  • "I love Kona Grill because I have never received anything other than friendly and courteous service. The food is unique from most chain restaurants and the ambiance is quite pleasant. They are consistent in delivering your food at the proper temperature. The servings are of ample size without being gut busting. The blend of flavors is a great change from your every day dinning experience. Not sure if you want only Sushi or American, then this is the place to go - both pallets can be satisfied."

  • "My wife and I went to Kona Grill for a Valentines Day dinner. I had the special Surf and Turf. Can't remember what my wife had but she really liked it. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We have been to Kona Grill before and will definately be going back. I highly recommend it."

  • "We went to Kona Grill last year for my husbands Birthday/Valentines day and got your special and it was wonderful. This year the steak was good at best and everything else was less than okay. For the price we paid I would have preferred to have gone some place else.. Not sure what happened, your qualify of food or should I also include the way it was cooked has really gone downhill. We decided going someplace else next year for his Birthday (which happens to be Valentines Day)."

  • "It's not a bad place. The food is pretty good, but I felt it was no better than Applebee's or Chili's with Hawaiian themed food."

  • "We went for just a simple family get together before my son went back to college in Pennsylvania. I was pleasantly surprised by everything, from the food to the service to the EXCELLENT mango mojito my husband had. (It's really hard to find a good one). I would recommend this place for any occasion."

  • "we asked for a quiet area for our anniversary dinner...wonderful ambience, great attentive and helpful service (thank you Karen) and fantastic food. We are picky about all of the above and we had a lovely dinner. Potstickers are yummy, large portions of food, we could have shared a meal but too many choices so we each ordered something different. Looking forward to going again."

  • "I searched online for restaurants that offered a gluten free menu. I was not disappointed. My entree was excellent and they were very accommodating. I recommend this to anyone and we will definitely be going back."

  • "The food has good potential. The food came out somewhat cold. Service was very slow and we rarely saw our waiter.if the food came out hotter it would have been better."

  • "Our first time there. It was cold the out side door was open. Food was bland. Not sure if I'd go back with kids."

  • "I took my wife to Kona Grill for our anniversary celebration. The server was nice but needed to pay more attention to the table. We ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner. A female person arrived to the table and did not introduce herself to us. The sushi was bland, the rice lacked flavor. The chicken dumplings were as good as the last time we dined at Kona Grill. The sea bass my wife was served was old. Here “Asian ratatouille” was filled with ginger threads. (You need to brunoise the fresh ginger as to what you served her. My filet and spiced noodles had the same problem.) The key lime pie was missing half of the tall gram cracker crust. The pie looked old."

  • "Inside dining area is usually quiet enough for table of 4 or 6 to visit comfortably. Have been to KG many times & menu items are generally reliable. Our table ordered salmon, ahi, snapper, & fish sandwich - all were very good. Sauce on ahi was more spicy than usual - but otherwise the fish was all good quality. Plain white rice is rather boring with some of fish dishes so consider asking for their fried rice or vegetables."

  • "We got here and all 3 hostess had to figure out our reservation. We were herded to our table and were told it was happy hour by a girl who was already walking away from us. When our server finally arrived he described happy hour as "I think its half price apps and drinks?" (while swinging his tray around like one of the Harlem Globetrotters) I don't know how someone who doesn't know the menu or the meaning of good service could end up being a server here, but there he was. Eventually our food arrived and actually tasted good. Overall I would say that if the manager was paying attention to the floor he would have seen the disrespect and lack of pride in service, but apparently the kids (servers/hosts) are allowed to run wild in this place!"

  • "Our waiter was quite inattentive, and he screwed up the timing on our food. We got our meals almost immediately after our appetizers. We sat thirsty at times while he failed to refresh our drinks. Finally, getting the check out of him took some prodding."

  • "I went there for my birthday with a group of 15. Although there were lots of people, we did not feel crammed. I even got a red velvet cupcake and it was the BEST red velvet I have ever had. I love the food and drink options here too!"

  • "My husband and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pan seared ahi tuna. We mentioned it a few times to Aaron (25) and Lindsey (22). They wanted to try it. So, we all ordered it and there wasn't a bite left. We especially like the chili sauce in this dish and usually request some extra on the side. We requested it this time and received some sweet (mango and ?) which was cold and tasted NOTHING like the sauce served with this dish. Other than this, everything was excellent, as usual. On a Sunday evening at 5:00 PM, the bar scene was happening and it was quiet in the restaurant. Plenty of people dining alfresco and enjoying a summer afternoon/early evening in Las Vegas."

  • "Great service, great food. Heard Mona Grill was a great restaurant and it did not disappoint. Did learn after the fact that Sunday's has happy hour all day if you sit in the bar area- half price on a lot of food items to include some Sushi rolls."

  • "We have been to Kona for Happy Hour and always had a good experience. My daughter ordered sushi and seaweed salad. She received the sushi but was given a cucumber salad. The seaweek salad finally came and it was extremely small. However, Sunday dinner was disappointing. Service was slow, some orders were wrong and the drinks took a long time to get to the table. I would recommend for outside Happy Hour."

  • "Server forgot to put in our app order so we never got it. Mistakes happen. Server was very apologetic. In the scheme of life this isn't a big deal. All other food was amazing! Normally loud restaurant but we were there at lunch on Sunday so quiet."
