You've got to love a new place that tries new things. My wife and I visited in the middle of the week to get around weekend dining crowds. Still, as the night wore on, people filtered in. So hopefully they'll stay open for a while. The space was a little odd to find. But once there, the view was worth it. Service was prompt (again, we were early in the evening before most folks) and we were seated right away. I like when your water glasses are always full without needing to ask. And so it was here. Food was amazing. Eat with a light conscience here. Everything came from inside a one hundred mile radius of your table so you know it is 1) fresh and 2) mostly all organic. We will most certainly be returning.

The look of the restaurant belies the earthy "farm to table " cuisine but is very urban & slick...a bit hard edged & not very inviting as you enter from an open gym lobby...the service was great. Everyone was very friendly & the food was very fresh & delicious.

We got there a bit late but we they were able to accommodate us. The ambiance was great and Market street view from the 4th floor was neat. The Salmon and Prawn dish was excellent and their sliders were delicious. I will definitely be returning soon.

Kombu Kitchen's menu is full of healthy options that are super tasty. The Chef's Whim and Bowl items are just the right amount of food. We started off with the sweet potato fries served with miso aioli and they were delicious. The fries had just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and the aioli was a nice choice for a dipping sauce. For dinner we tried the flat iron steak frites and garlic shrimp and salmon chef whim's, as well as the grilled tofu bowl. All were generous portions and had a great, fresh flavor. The forbidden rice served on the side was cooked slightly al dente which offered a nice contrast to the salmon, shrimp and tofu dishes. We didn't have any room left over to try the desserts, but the salted caramel sorbetto with chocolate sauce looked worth a try!

Well, the restaurant had emergency water issues for our reservation date which shut down for the restaurant for the night, but the restaurant manager failed to inform opentable of this fact and we only learned of the issue on arrival. Completely aside from this matter, the restaurant is not in the Four Seasons hotel but is in the LA Sports Club, in the same building but one floor below the 5th floor hotel lobby and not particularly easy to arrive at. It seems that the LA Sports Club cafe has been "converted" into a restaurant but still retains the aroma of chlorine, bleach, and sweat since it resides in the lobby of LA Sports club. Glamorous photos of the city views are enticing on the website but you will not forget you're in a gym in reality. PS: Opentable requires rating all the categories to be able to submit a review and thus, my ratings for anything other than "overall" and "ambience" are average but I have no personal knowledge of food, service, or noise quality.

Staying at nearby Marriott Marquis for conference. Randomly selected from open table due to proximity and sounded OK. After my meal I was more than happy with my choice. Service and food was hard to fault. Lots of healthy options on the menu. Nevertheless I would still recommend the not so healthy but very yummy Chorizo sliders entrée. Location on 4th floor with all glass exterior gives pleasant elevated view of Market Street, if you get a window, for watching the hustle and bustle of people old trams going by etc. This place exceeded my expectations for the price.

We went on a recommendation. My friend eats a limited amount of meat so I thought it would be a great option as the menu has something for everyone. Immediately we felt comfortable and noticed how nice the view was from its 4th floor level. The waiter was almost intuitive in his ability to recommend dishes for us. We decided that we needed to try a variety of dishes because everything looked so delicious. We started with the vegan sliders and carrot, beet hummus with grilled bread, then we split the brussels, kale, radiccchio, orange, pistachio salad, we ordered the pumpkin gnocchi and seared tofu for our main dishes. Of course we had to order dessert; chocolate soufflé and apricot tart. Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfectly yummy!

Unique and delicious combinations of healthy and "clean" cooking delights! We asked the owner to choose appetizers for the table and were not disappointed with any of them. For entrées try the salmon with forbidden rice or gnocchi and chicken. Clean, contemporary remodeled decor with a casual but sophisticated atmosphere. Will definitely return!

What a wonderful new find! I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. We made reservations to have dinner here after hearing a great review from some friends and we're so happy we did. The only bad thing i can say is there were so many wonderful things on the menu it was hard to decide what to order. I went with a couple friends who have food restrictions (Vegan/Gluten free) and it was great because everyone had great options. Also the view was wonderful- A+ experience, the owner/chef even served us herself.

Our waitress was serving a majority of the restaurant on a Friday night. We tried to order the following items but they ran out by 8pm: grilled shrimp, Sav Blanc, Blue Moon, and white truffle fries. Seemed like they had very low inventory on a Friday night. It took 50 mins from the time we ordered our appetizer till we received it. They have a very nice view and nice modern decor but that's it. Overall bad experience. Do not plan to return. Poor management is to blame not the waitresses.

My daughter came in from Colorado for a visit. I had booked our table in advance--but the plane was 2 hours late! I called to let them know and they arranged for a later time. When we were FINALLY able to get there, we were nonetheless warmly invited in and seated at a table with an fantastic view over Market Street. Despite keeping them late, we were served the most amazing, beautiful, DELICIOUS 4 course dinner by the kind and attentive staff! THE CHEF HERSELF brought each plate out to us!! Each plate was a work of ART, in presentation and flavor. It was an evening neither one of us will ever forget. Thank you SO MUCH for your incredible hospitality and exceptional dining! This place is a labor of love, and you can feel it :)

Restaurant was short staffed, took a long time for the drink orders to be taken and arrive, and my cold drink was Luke warm and tasteless.... The owner kept reminding me I need to tip according to menu price instead of the coupon discounted rate, that was quite annoying. Food was so so, nothing memorable.

Zach the GM was very kind to come and introduce himself and check on our experience! Our server was very personable and showed a gracious amount of hospitality! The place was remodeled and has a very chic sophisticated look...however, the music level was beyond for me, personally. I couldn't hear my guest :( Also, the sweaty smell from the gym slightly lingers as you first walk in. At first, when you walk in it looks like a deli spot but, the dining is in the rear part of the restaurant. My thoughts on the food are excellent! Delicious! I ordered the Shrimp and Salmon dinner with greens and wild rice! Nice and buttery taste--absolutely delicious! The tiramisu was exceptional! Not too sweet not too bland. Thank you very much!

An ambitious and thoughtful menu just fails to live up to its promise - every dish was off just a bit - the risotto well cooked but too salty (an unusual comment from me), the truffle flavor on the (quite ordinary) fries was minimal, the au jus for the flat iron steak showed up 10 minutes before the entree and was cold, the sorbetto lacked flavor and was icy. Service was attentive and helpful. I just hope for better execution next time, if I go, and expect such for the pricing. Noisy room not conducive to conversation below shouting.

We really enjoyed our dining experience here. As a party of four, we were celebrating my mother's 50th birthday. Kombu was quite accommodating and really nice from the host to the server to the chef! We felt welcomed and well appreciated. There was a party of about 10-15 people from Neiman Marcus celebrating and we did not once feel disturbed by their large party. The fries are amazing, we tried each style. The salmon was prepared perfectly. My hubby enjoyed the drinks. They have the greatest happy hour too! It lasts until 9pm where some places have that 6pm or 7pm cut off. Once we have our baby, I will definitely be back for happy hour for some cocktails and good eats! Great for date night, ladies night, double dates and group events.
