Komali RestaurantCan't wait to returnWe had dinner late Saturday night. When we, a larger group than expected walked in, the General Manager didn't bat an eye. It was like a coreographed number, servers came together, found some space for us, and we were sat immediately. The restaurant had a great vibe. The drinks were great, can't wait for another Tamarind Margarita. We all shared some appetizers and everyone of them were great. Tamales and sopes were excellent. Everyone really enjoyed the entrees. My only complaint is the shape of the plates, that are oblong and curve up on the sides. It is next to impossible to get a steak knife to sit on the plate, it continues to slide off, and continued to get more and more annoying. Hope you will consider changing the shape of that plate when you serve the steak dish with enchilada.

For those that know there are many different flavors and styles of Mexican food, Komali delivers real Mexico City mexican food. If you are looking for fajitas, beans and rice with queso this is much more sophisticated fare.
We started with street corn and guacamole. I had the Lamb Stew in banana leaf and asked for vegetables. The patio was very pleasant for brunch, the service excellent, and the mimosas a welcome (and well priced) touch. We had interesting variations on Mexican inspired breakfast/brunch food: crepes, eggs, tortillas, and a beef hash that was actually more stew-like, but very tasty. Best margarita, best chips and salsa, best cheviche, they have it all! Food is more upscale than your typical Mexican restaurant but still affordable.
